Stopped in for lunch today, I’ve always had really good experiences at Longhorn Steakhouses. This was my first time at this one. I usually get a late lunch so it was dead and I sat at the bar. The service overall was great, which is to be expected when I’m the only customer. I ordered the chicken avocado flatbread with a side salad. It said field greens on the menu but the salad was mostly iceberg(not usually picky but I was trying to be a little healthy haha). I should’ve asked for dressing on the side though because the dish was mostly dressing with a little salad. The flatbread was really good, it had a lot of cheese though — I ended up pulling most of it off. The French fries had this really good Cajun seasoning on it that I loved. The food seemed to live up to the other reviews I’ve seen, maybe they’ve been having a chef problem — it wasn’t the«upscale steakhouse» food I’ve had at other Longhorns. Really pleased with the service though, the bartender was super nice and attentive. I probably won’t return, I was looking for something quick for lunch and I got just that, but nothing to write home to mom about.

My parents and I went recently. Neither Mom nor I are steak fans, so Mom got salmon and I had a parmasan chicken dish. My Dad ordered an 8 oz steak and what came out looked to be about 5 oz. The salmon was also small and had good flavor but almost half of the place was covered with brocolli! We got loaded baked potatoes which apparently need to be explained to whomever in the kitchen made the ones we were served. You shouldnt be able to count the slivers of cheese! Salad is decent. My parmesan chicken had good flavor, but way too much cheese… if that is possible. I ended up peeling off the layer of cheese and just ate the chicken. The complimentary bread is good, but once again, like the loaded baked potato issue – you served a loaf of bread to three people so dont bring a teasponful of honey butter. The server was nice, music is low so you can hear yourself and your company, which is rare around here. There are some kinks this place needs to work out, but all in all, a good experience, and fair prices.

Service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. We were immediately sat which was great on a busy Saturday night. I loved their steakhouse ranch dressing and salad. My husband’s steak was a little over cooked, but my ribs were perfect. We will definitely be back!

I usually never have a bad experience at any Longhorn I’ve ever been to. This time was different. First off, our waitress greeted us in a timely manner but took 20 mins to bring our bar drinks… Drinks came out with our appetizers. Now my boyfriend ordered the new appetizer called the Oktoberfest Mussels. It comes with a mound of mussels in a bowl… probably at least a dozen or more. Flavor was great… but there was about 7 – 8 Mussels that were not open. I’ve always known that Mussels are supposed to be open when they’re cooked. Typically, you throw out the shells that don’t open because that means they were dead when you cooked them. He put the unopened ones aside on a plate to show how many there were still closed and when the waitress came back around, he explained what was wrong and she asked him if he wanted a pick to open them up so he could finish eating them. We then explained to her that they’re supposed to open when you cook them. She apologized and took them back and my boyfriend proceeded to replace the mussels with a French onion soup. French onion soup gets delivered by the manager. The manager then tells my boyfriend he is wrong and that he was informed by his corporste office that the Mussels were pre cooked so even though they weren’t open, they were safe to eat. Now it’s just my experience from working in the restaurant industry that the customer is always right. I found it very offensive that the manager tried to challenge our thoughts on these closed mussels being ok to eat. The manager then says«well, here’s your French onion soup» drops it on the table and walks away with zero apologies. The entrees came out and everything looked accurate until we started eating. I asked specifically for no sour cream in my baked potato which had been delivered with an overabundance of sour cream in it and my sister’s salad had been missing the thing she was looking forward to the most… candied pecans. Those are minor mistakes but still I feel are careless on the kitchens part. Waitress was very sincere and apologized for the mistakes and said«I’ll see if we can give you a discount.» We get our bill and all they did was deduct the mussels and additionally charge for the French onion which was the replacement for the mussels. In my opinion, if the manager has to come to the table, you deserve at least a 10% managers discount considering everything that went wrong with our dinner… I feel it was definitely necessary after the lousy service on the manager and kitchens part.

Terrible slow service-over 3 hours for the lunch. Granted we were a party of 20, but we called ahead and they accepted us. First, it took forever to get food. My ribeye was skinny, over cooked, and too much fat. The appetizers were horrible, clearly frozen, with way too much breading(shrimp, onions). The only exception was the mushrooms, which were good and fresh. Then came the marathon wait for our checks. Most were wrong, the manager came out and apologized. And then gave the ones who complained the meal free. The rest he gave a whopping 10% off. I’m sorry to say that this has been my experience at this chain both here and Williamsburg. How do they stay in business? There are much better chain steak places, like LoneStar or Texas Roadhouse.

I have been here a few times with my husband and friends. Each time I go the steaks are cooked perfectly flavors it great. I always get the loaded baked potato and a fresh ceasar salad. The spinach dip is awesome. The customer service was incredible. The restaurant was clean and love the western décor. Definitely will be going back again.

I found the secret to Longhorn. I ask for no seasoning to be put on any of my ordered items. I have had occurrences in the past, with Longhorn, and other steak houses, of getting food that was way over salted. Our food order was fine. We did, however, have pushing a rope uphill slow service. Storefront was clean. Food was good. Slow service, too away the over all enjoyment of our visit here.

I feel like a review should have criterias to meet in order to be deemed a specific star rating. Lets see, they’ve met only one part of my personal criteria for customer service. The food, although was huge in portion, was a far disappointment in flavor and taste. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t nasty or terrible, it just sounded better than it actually tasted. Great in concept, not so great in reality. The reason for the two remaining star, the manager and host were both pretty great! Customer service is always a huge factor in any review, as it should. The waitress on the other hand, took way too long to bring a single glass of water for my co-worker. So we’ll just keep that as a tie for one star. The other star is for value. For the amount of money you pay for lunch, they give you a reasonably large amount of food. You will leave pretty satisfied that you only paid less than $ 10 for mediocre food. Would I come back here on my own? Most likely not.

No star. No service. We got there at 8:15. No host to greet us. Waited five minutes in front. while servers just glanced at us and continued to their tables. Made eye contact with two servers, one of whom had the booth right behind the hostess station. Bad omen. Just left and went somewhere else.

Excellent steak but bartender needs to pay attention to the bar rather than yucking it up in the kitchen

Place is horrible. Servers are fine but you should see the pace at which plates are sent back, and with good reason… They simply DONOT know how to cook steak. YOUHADONEJOB! We came here on opening night and it was a meltdown disaster… The manager was coming table after table after table. Came back here now months later to give them a second chance, all opening days are tough, well, they have improved nothing. Cooks can’t cook and we sat near the back and saw several plates coming back in just the 45 minutes we were there. I don’t think this is a reflection of Longhorn overall BUT this one is just bad. PS: I don’t send food back. I say lesson learned. Sometimes I give a second chance because everybody has a bad night, but I pay, I tip fairly(better than fair actually), and I say lesson learned and never go back. They failed really bad the first time and couldn’t redeem themselves on the second chance. You lost my business. Done. Oh, look, before I could finish this review, another plate just went back. #WOW

The hostess sat us right away and came back to take our drink order. This was a good thing because we didn’t see our waitress for about 10 minutes and we would have walked out by then. She was pleasant and took our order making sure our steak orders were what we wanted. But from there it was slow service. We finally got our bread and salads. She came by 20 minutes later to tell us our meal would be out in a minute. 20minutes later our meals were brought to us. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours. That is a bit long especially for my 1 year old grandson. The food was good but we won’t be going back.

Horrible service we went to eat at 5pm today. We were seated immediately the server came about 10 minutes later asked what we would like to drink, came back with them and then left. We waited and waited 20 minutes later he came back with cold bread and asked what we were having. Meanwhile a couple sitting right next to us were seated 20 minutes afterwards were given drinks and bread all at the same time, we ordered and then proceeded to wait about 45 minutes for food, the same couple had already ordered and received their food before ours came out. Not once were we given refills or asked if we wanted steak sauce, the steaks were over cooked, service was horrible and we had to go to the hostess to receive any sort of help. We will not be visiting this establishment again.

My husband and I decided to try this location out with friends since we had a Darden gift card we’d received for Christmas. Basically, from start to finish, the experience was awful. When we arrived, the hostess(who wasn’t very welcoming) told us there was a 15 minute wait, despite there being many open tables. We asked if we could sit in the bar area and she said«no». No explanation or anything. We should have taken that as a sign because from there, things went downhill. The waiter seldom came to check on us, or to refill drinks or see if we wanted more of the unlimited bread. He only had three tables! It wasn’t busy! He would come near our table and peek over at us and then walk away without saying anything! Add to that, the food wasn’t great. If it had been cooked properly, it would have been mediocre at best, but shrimp in our appetizer AND the shrimp and lobster mac and cheese wasn’t cooked through. It was still translucent! My husband ordered a steak cooked medium and a third of it was still rare. When I pointed this out to our waiter, he didn’t say anything, just sent a manager over. The manager didn’t say anything when I showed him the shrimp and steak either… he just kind of looked at it and then took the plate away from the table. The general manager did come over(after I asked to speak to him) to apologize, but I for sure won’t be going back to this place unless they hire new staff. The food wasn’t great and the service was terrible, so for me, there’s no reason to return.

I visited LongHorn for dinner with a good friend yesterday. We eat there at least once a month. Alex was our waiter. He was very pleasant and catered to our every need. I ordered the ribs for the first time and I was a little disappointed that they weren’t very hot. They were cold to the bone within 5 minutes of sitting on the table. My sweet potato wasn’t sweet at all even after I added extra sugar. Alex allowed me to exchange it for green beans. This visit was the first time that I had a complaint about the food. Alex has been my server the last three visits. He does a great job at customer service.

If I could, I would take away the one star and award this place the finger. My folks and I have dined at the Williamsburg LongHorn and never had an issue. They always start you off with their warm wheat bread and follow up by refilling drinks promptly and serving better than average steaks and sides. We got nothing close to that experience at the Jefferson Commons LongHorn. Everyone has bad days. Those days where you can’t stop thinking about how your mom is doing at her leukemia treatment, or why your ex-wife is such a bitch or you’re trying to quit smoking and you are a grumpy mess. When you represent a brand while on the job, you have to be able to perform and maintain no matter what the f*ck is going on in your life. Our server started off by forgetting to bring bread plates(this ain’t the f*ckin’ Golden Corral), and followed up by never once refilling anyone’s iced tea or asking if we wanted some more of the bread that they’re kinda known for and push heavily in their marketing. I don’t know what his deal was and I did not really care, but he was one of the sh*ttiest servers I’ve ever seen. He had several chances to improve and correct the way he was working our table and I finally gave up and spoke to the manager in my usual WTF voice–«where’s the ketchup for the kid’s meal? How about her apple juice that she’s been waiting 15 mins for? Why are the salads and the entrees coming to the table simultaneously?». The manager was good about making some things happen but too late. Even giving us a 25% discount didn’t help to make anyone of us feel like we got any respect as customers. I wouldn’t dine here again and I wouldn’t ever recommend it to anyone else that I know, either. What a waste. Put the Silver Diner back and hit this place with Miley Cyrus’s wrecking ball.

Went here a couple weeks after they opened, waited for 45 minutes to be seated yet there were six tables open in the dining floor, I guess they were trying to create a buzz for the place with the gigantic line outside. The shrimp appetizer was tasty sort of a play on bang bang shrimp and the steak was cooked well, but the toppings were to be desired, I ended up just scraping those off. Service was slow and she basically ignored us.

Overpriced and slow; food is pretty good but one steak ordered medium well came grey throughout with char on the outside. We enjoyed the other entrees, and the atmosphere is nice. Service was good, not exceptional. My rainbow trout was good and tasty without bones. I especially enjoyed the grilled corn on the cob; it was sweet and tender.

My husband and I had lunch there about two weeks after the restaurant’s grand opening. I have eaten at other Longhorn Steakhouses before… all of which have been very positive experiences from service to the quality of the food. This place however was awful. The service was pathetic and the food was way over-salted. My husband had a burger and the bun was beyond soggy. I guess I need to go back and actually have a steak because neither one of us ordered a steak. The service leaves A LOT to be desired. Our waitress was completely disengaged. She took our order and never stopped by again. We ordered more bread, which never came. The sad part is, the place wasn’t even crowded. I’m not sure we will ever come back here to eat. Shame on Longhorn! You should do better.
