Omg! I wish I knew about this place earlier. The most friendliest hosts around. The host had me smile because she was always smiling. I got the beef salad and I was blown away. My daughter got the tofu pad Thai and she loved it. I was impressed. Now I will say when I ordered the mango sweet rice, I about cried from happiness. That was one of the best I have had so far I had in the area! Will go back again.

I am a stickler for Asian food, and I come here once a week, and crave it when I’m not there. Authentic Thai, always fresh and made to order. Portion sizes are HUGE and the best part??? Their staff is world class.

A great place to dine casually. This is the first Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to that treats you like family. The kindness and care of the staff is just flat out humbling. The food was very good and at a great price. I ordered the spicy, yellow curry with Jasmine rice(in the shape of a heart) and received a fresh, sweet, and crispy salad that was complimentary with the dish. I also ordered an amazing glass of Thai Iced Tea. The place wasn’t crowded at all. It maintained a consistent and decent flow of traffic. After I finished my meal, I was blown away when I received my ticket…“All of that for $ 10???”, I said to myself. I thought I was dreaming! Lol I highly recommend Thai Thai. Definitely two thumbs up with a smile.

Everything about this place is great, from its friendly staff to its delicious food. The menu is excellent, you cannot go wrong with any option. For authentic Thai food, this is easily the best spot in Newport News.

We were here on two occasions, and both times, the service was as excellent as the food. For the first visit, we tried the green papaya salad, the fish cake, the pad Thai and the coconut chicken soup. The fish cake deserves special mention as it’s not easy to find this dish in the area, not to mention that it was on par in flavor with many of the best Thai restaurants we’ve been to in Asia. The pad Thai & green papaya salad were excellent as well. It’s tough to find good green papaya salad in the area too but this was definitely very good! The coconut chicken soup will be good for coconut milk lovers who do not like spicy food. We found this to be a bit too creamy & filling to our liking, but this depends on personal taste. On our second visit, we had the crispy duck in red Thai curry. This was superb!!! The duck was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The red curry is indescribably flavorful & not too spicy. This was the perfect accompaniment to a big bowl of white rice. The dish came with some steamed broccoli, bits of red & green peppers, & lots of bamboo slices. The appetizer of Thai Thai wings came with a delicious dipping sauce that seemed to be a concoction of Tamarind & Thai chilli sauce. The wings themselves were simply marinated & deep fried. I prefer the fish cake to the chicken wings anytime. We also had the tom yum soup & it was wonderful. The sour, sweet & spicy balance was just right, & we loved the straw mushrooms in it. We also had the mango & Thai sticky rice for dessert. This was very good too! All in all, great value for superb service & excellent food. The ambience was nice & clean & welcoming too. We’ll be back for sure!!!

They are SO friendly here!!! I came based on a recommendation and I’m so glad I did. This is definitely my new favorite Thai spot! We went up to the counter where we were greeted by two women. The older woman took our order, and her disposition was just incredibly sweet and genuine. We finished ordering and she even ups old us on some Thai iced tea(you’re doing a disservice to your customers by not offering more options!). Everything was priced very fair. Now onto taste… The pad Thai was awesome! It had great flavor and there was a huge serving! My bf got the prik khing, and I didn’t try it because I felt that my dish was spicy enough and I had asked for medium spicy, while he asked for Thai spicy. He enjoyed his dish thoroughly. He said«it was definitely spicy!» From the time we ordered until the time we picked it up was about 15 minutes, and they even have deliver. OHMYGOODNESS! GETTHETHAIICEDTEA! If you like sweet stuff, you’ll love this. It topped my experience off perfectly, for sure.

This is my friends and I fav Thai place here. We have tried multiple dishes and they have all been so yummy. Today they even threw on a free order of the seasonal mango with sweet sticky rice. It was delicious by the way. To top it off, my friend had car issues and the young man there helped her out. He took her to get jumper cables so she could get going. They didn’t have to do that for a complete stranger but they did.

AMAZING food! We come here all the time and have never had a bad experience. The women who runs the front is absolutely amazing. She makes going in worth it because she is so sweet. Highly recommend the random bags of treats that are usually up at the front. We always get the dried bananas and they are amazing!

This is the second time I explored a Thai restaurant in this area and I have to say, it’s delicious! I ordered crispy chicken with pad Thai noodles, crispy duck with hot basil sauce and green papaya salad. I enjoyed all three dishes! The chicken was perfectly crispy and the pad Thai noodles were delicious. It was a bit strange for me at first to have crispy chicken with pad Thai noodles, but they both went quite well together. The crispy duck, although wasn’t crispy no more after they poured the sauce over it, was still delicious. The flavors there were spicy and so full of flavor. The green papaya salad was also good. I’m not a big fan of Thai papaya salad(I prefer Laos because it’s more tangy instead of sweet), but this was pretty good! And I am glad that when they mean spicy, it really is spicy. I’m a big spicy food lover so I was happy and satisfied with the level and truthful spiciness!

We ordered the pad Kee Mao, and hot basil shrimp. I’m a total food snob, I usually cook thai food at home and my husband is super picky about eating anything from a restaurant. He’s spoiled =) we were pleasantly surprised, our dishes were both very spicy, obviously all fresh ingredients and delicious. We will definitely come back!

I can see I am the minority here with my review of only three stars. I also believe I know why… The service is amazing… Like, stand-out amazing. It’s noticeable, that’s how friendly and attentive the staff is. And like other reviewers, I can call that out as something of note. However, aside from the cleanliness and amazing service, in my opinion, the review should primarily consider the food, after all, for a restaurant, what good is service and cleanliness if the food is no good? I believe this is why Thai Thai is getting such good reviews on Unilocal. The reviewers are becoming so enamored with the service that they’re missing the primary consideration… The food. And it’s not that the food is horrible, it’s just nothing to write home about(or to write a 5 star review for). If I’m being totally honest, looking past the great service and cleanliness, the food is barely average. It’s more Thai Fast Food than Thai Cuisine. In fact, as far as Thai goes, it’s quite bland, which should never be an adjective to describe Thai food. So, here are my three stars. One for service, one for cleanliness, and one for food, which according to Unilocal’s rating system, is «OK.» I think that’s a fair assessment. To give it more than three stars, in my opinion, is a gross overstatement of the food, which is average at best and probably leaning more toward below average. Unlike other Unilocal reviews for Thai Thai, I think this more appropriately represents what you can expect of the actual food, but as always, you be the judge.

Food took 33 minutes at lunch time. I had only a few minutes left to eat. I noticed others were waiting a while. Was here before and it took about 20 minutes or so. Food was good. Go to counter to order. Not much for service. Too bad as I think this can be a gem.

One of my favorite Thai places in town. I’ve tried different menu options and have yet to go wrong. Love that you can pretty much make anything on the menu vegan. Outstanding customer service. Very friendly staff and eager to accommodate dietary needs. Another whole in a wall place but a must try!

This is an exciting new addition to add to my takeout lineup. I had the chicken pad see ew for takeout and was all-around satisfied with the quality of the food, speed of service, the friendliness of staff and the price. I’ve struggled to find a reliable Chinese takeout between work and home and typically Thai(at least for dinner) is out of my price range as a regular takeout option. I was happy to find that Thai Thai has prices similar to takeout Chinese and still delivers a tasty and high quality product. My chicken pad see ew was nice and flavorful, with just the right amount of sweet soy sauce, broccoli that was fresh and crisp and a healthy portion of the flat noodles that draw me to the dish. I would have liked a bit more egg, but NBD. My order was ready in under 10 minutes, and the lady that helped me was very friendly. Inside is a relatively small space, but bright and contemporary. I’d say it’d make for a nice quick place to eat lunch if you work nearby.

Stopped here because we were stuck in traffic on 64– really glad we did! Had larb gai, pork fried rice and basil tofu. All were delicious, just right spicy, and fresh! A little sweeter than other places, but wonderful. I’ve been to Bangkok and Laos and these flavors were very similar. The service was great– the waitress/cashier/cook was so helpful with our toddler, and pleasant. If I’m ever in town again, I will return.

I wouldnt say the BEST thai food ive ever had. Its average. I got the dumplings and the chicken satay. The dumplings were really small for 6 $. They also tasted kinda old.– that could be because i picked up my order 15 min late. They were tough and chewey. I wasnt very impressed. Chicken satay was better. It was moist and full of flavor. Comes with a peanut and a clear cucumber dip which are both pretty tasty. The establishment itself is quaint and comfy. A few tables set up and the lady who took my order was also extremely friendly. There was one couple sitting in there on a saturday evening. Overall, i dont think id return, just because the food doesnt warrant that price.
