Yummy food. Loved it. Many vegetarian options! One of the best thai places. Waitress was really nice too!

Went for lunch with my boss. The food was good, the service was fast and friendly. What more can you ask for? :)

Pleasant staff, excellent Thai food. Quick take out. The portions are generous and I typically get two meals out of one order. They are very accommodating with vegetarian requests. Ingredients are fresh, fried never tastes of «old» oil. This is my go-to place for dining out after work. Peaceful environment, very relaxing, almost spa like.

Staff is always friendly and have never been disappointed. My go-to order is the eggplant with chicken. Been to two other Thai restaurants in town and have not liked them as much as Tida. No expert in Thai food but the eggplant dish is one of my favorite meals ever. Ingredients always taste extremely fresh.

Our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. All the appetizers and entrees are delicious and the service is great. The atmosphere is laid back and it’s never too crowded or loud. I would recommend starting with Tom Ka soup and either Larb Gai or a Beef Salad and Prik Pow or the Eggplant entrée. The more common entrees are good too but their specialties really shine!

So we came in and I checked in on Unilocal.I was excited to see a $ 5 off a $ 30 purchase, as we had spent $ 39 on two drinks and two entrees. The waitress explained that they no longer honored the coupon, that it had expired. I showed her where it was still«valid» and she curtly said«sorry, we can’t do that for you. The owner won’t honor it anymore.» I told her to cancel my order, and we would pay for our drinks. I won’t return here, especially on account that they can’t honor a coupon for $ 5. It’s the principle. She told us we needed to contact Unilocal to remove the coupon. Last time I checked, that isn’t my responsibility. Someone affiliated with the restaurant, I’m assuming, contacted me a day later explaining that it did not apply to carry out or alcohol. Well after jotting my experience down last night, a fellow Unilocaler contacted me saying he was denied the $ 5 during a dine in experience. The waitress did not clarify any information with us, only explained that it was expired and they would not honor it. So again, we won’t be back.

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the experience I had here Friday night for dinner. While the service was decent and the atmosphere was warm and cozy, the food was just average. The best part for me was the Tom Yum soup w/Tofu I had as my appetizer. Very flavorful with a nice little kick. I had the Pad Pak with pork as my entrée, and while a nice portion, it was all-around pretty bland. And my companion’s Pad Thai was run-of-the-mill. The cocktail menu was pretty nice and we each enjoyed a gin martini. It was kind of sad how dead it was at 7:30 on a Friday. My favorite Thai place in Newport News is still Thai Thai, which is cheaper and food more flavorful(though lacks the atmosphere and is more take-out focused).

Excellent presentation & flavors. Great usage of Thai holy basil in the fried rice. The freshness of the herbs really balances out the oil from the fried rice. The beef pad see ew really reminds me of the chow fun my dad made me. Totally recommended :)

This place is good. But, after trying a lot of Thai places in DC, I think this place is average for a Thai restaurant. For restaurants only in Newport News, I’d give it 4 stars. I actually received my food in 20 min after ordering delivery. I was shocked as many reviews said that their delivery was slow or inconsistent. I enjoyed the thai dumplings most. The seafood pad thai was average. The spring rolls were ok. I’ll def order from here when I have time to kill.

My first time going here. I really enjoyed having a nice lunch to myself. It was cold out so I ordered the masaman curry with beef. It was soooo good. I love it! Just a hint of spicy and not too sweet. I had a Thai coffee to go with it and an order of the steamed dumplings to start. The sauce that came with the dumplings was not like anything that I have ever had, it was really good. The dumplings were nice and soft, just a little springy. Very tasty. The service was pleasant and I enjoyed the ambience. Will come again for sure!

Some of the best Laab Gai I’ve ever had, and huge portion but sorry, won’t be back. Can’t get past the strange, socially awkward waitress.

My first experience here was in last year in May of 2014 it was a good experience and the food was good. But this time which was 2 weeks ago in August was not very good at all. Although the wait staff was polite and catered to our table often, the beef pad Thai and three out of four meals at our table were not very good. The beef was dry and hard to swallow. I had almost choked on the beef and had to chase it down with my drink. The tofu pad pak that one of us got lacked flavor. However, The appetizers were the best part out of everything and was actually very good. They do make sure the plates of food are well presented and very pretty looking with a carrot carved flower garnish. I would like to see 80 dollars worth of food be just as tasty as they are pretty. But that was just not the case here. My family and I are pretty disappointed.

First time here and I really enjoyed it. The Chicken Pad Thai was excellent. The Thai Tea was yummy. The restaurant has a full bar and was very clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend it and I will go back.

This restaurant was alright. Food was not amongst best at all. Seemed fresh and had flavor. First time I was not asked for spice level. Had red curry shrimp. Curry came out like soup. I had to fish for the ingredients. Maybe that is the intend. If so a first for me. Had to ask for a plate. Shrimp had tail on. So after fishing for them, had to cut off tail. All chefs do this and bothers me. Anyone else? I only need tail on for cocktail shrimp and dipping. The art of deserts have been lost. Offer is made very coldly and assuming I do not want. Poor salesmanship.

Came here for Valentines Day and was pretty impressed. The place looks a lot nicer inside than you’d think from the outside, very elegant. We were able to be seated right away even though they looked pretty busy, but by the time we left there was a wait. Our server was friendly but she had a lot of tables and seemed rushed. A couple times we needed new drinks and she was nowhere to be seen. Food didn’t take too long to come out and was presented very well. The portions are huge and reasonably priced. I got the chicken pad Thai. I thought it was pretty good but maybe a little too much peanut. We will definitely be back to this place!

Agree with the other reviewers, this is definitely the best Thai food in the area. I paid $ 13 for chicken pad thai and the portion was huge — plenty for leftovers. The flavor was really good, noodles had the perfect amount of sauce, and the chicken looked like it was carved from a rotisserie breast. This will probably become my go-to Thai place. And, military discount Monday-Thursday!

Had a chance to take my lovely wife out for a date and had been wanting to try this place out and I love it. Sunday evening and was not busy at all. Really nice atmosphere and the service was the best. Started off with the Satay and was very tasty, but before I go any further I would like to say that they brought us water without asking or anything. This is a major plus to me. I had the Garlic Beef and my wife had started out with the Pad Thai Shrimp. We later added the Spicy Chicken Fried Rice as well. Way too much for two but was looking at leftover for tomorrow. Food was very good and please make sure to check out the specials when you come already planning our menu for the next visit.

I’m not comparing this to NYC or Sydney, Australia(which has the best Thai food in the world, short of Thailand) but for the Williamsburg/Newport News area, this is definitely a 5-star thai restaurant. A really excellent find, considering the fact that this is not the culinary capital of America. Pretty authentic too. They have Som Tum(called Papaya Salad), Pad Kee Mao(called Drunken Noodles), and great rice paper rolls(Garden Roll). Service was kind and attentive. Pretty nice ambiance too. Worth the 30-min drive from Williamsburg.

This is my usual Thai spot for lunch when I’m working. The inside is kind of dark even though it’s beautifully decorated, so I chose to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. There’s only 3 tables outside but during lunch hour everyone is inside. They’ve changed servers a few times since I’ve been going here and they are all really great, fast and attentive. I usually get the Pad Thai with tofu or chicken($ 9) at medium spice and request the Thai spice rack to bump it up of needed. I don’t mind doing a little extra sprinkling to make up for the kitchen because everyone’s palette is different. I usually like it muy caliente! This spot is great for lunch or dinner as well as groups. I’ve brought quite a few friends here when they are in town and they loved it. It’s not really suited for kids though, so I’d leave them at home.
