Service was excellent, but my shrimp entrée had 5 friggin shrimp. 5?!? Food was good, but mediocre, dull. You can do better.

Food is not good. I bought a ton of gift cards for my team and got those bonus coupons thinking this would be a great place to eat. Now after 3 times and every time I’ve eaten here it’s been terrible. I know the river view is great but for the price go somewhere that has great food.

Been going Co the Chart House for over 30 years around the country. We stopped in for the Bloody Mary happy hour special today(new years) along with the appetizers which are a meal in itself. Good drink and food as always. The river views can’t be beat.

We had a great meal with excellent service. My wife had the grouper — which was amazing(Their best dish per the waiter). I had a filet and a side lobster tail — both were excellent. We had the shrimp cocktail(very good) and the lobster bisque(average) for starters. We did finished with the lava cake which is surprising since we a ton of food before — but do it. You will be happy you did. They had a great list of cocktails and wine. Was surprised they did not have a better selection of higher end after dinner drinks — they missed there. Would I go back again — for sure. Lastly — the view was amazing and worth it.

Negative stars if possible. I’ve had better food at Outback… I had prime rib which was satisfactory at best. The other two people with me had filets. Both were over cooked and tasted awful. They were sent back. The mashed potatoes that came with the meals were dry and tasteless. The sizzling mushrooms looked and tasted like they were dumped out of a can into a pan. We ordered the special dessert, which was a lava cake. It was fine. 30 minutes to make a dessert that tastes like Applebee’s. We were comp’d dessert bc of the horrible food, but our bill was over $ 160. Definitely not worth it. Could have had better food at a much cheaper restaurant.

Great Place… previous reviews not withstanding, this place is great. Service was spot on from minute one, server was all over our table even though they were very busy… Stayed in Downtown Cinci and chose to go there… happy we did… Wife had the best Chardonnay she ever has had and lobster… I had a Panko Crusted chicken with wild mushrooms… outstanding!!! 5 stars!!! Started off great but after the server threw my food out that should have been boxed up starting feeling jipped. No apologies or acknowledgement. After we asked she admitted they were preparing 2 new scallops. Well what happen to my boyfriends steak and the rest of the salad with my meal. Not feeling the $ 150 we spent was worth it. Don Pablo’s next time!

As a long-time Customer to this Chart house, this is the last time I am going there. The service was horrible and food disappointing! Not worth $ 200 for 4 without any alcohol. We wanted wine but couldn’t get the waiter’s attention. 1. Waiter did not go over specials 2. Reservations were on opentable and mentioned birthday. One menu said happy birthday. Not mentioned by waiter; not sure if you get a free dessert but nothing was done. 3. Ordered ice teas and told waiter we would get wine with dinner. He never came back. 4. Took 20 minutes for ice teas and a long time for refills(by others). 5. Salad bar lettuce looked wilted. Strawberries weren’t washed; we saw person throw them in from package 6. My son got his soup 2 minutes before the dinner arrived. We told waiter he never got it and said someone told him they took his soup and he thought that meant to our table. The soup was horrible and then my son complained about his cold dinner. Waiter asked if we wanted soup packaged to go. It should have been taken off bill. Note dinner came out probably 1 hour after ordered. 3 of us got salad bar. 7. Red Snapper was very thin and tasted old. Not sure it was even Red Snapper. Not worth $ 34. 8. My Ahi Tuna was a disappointment all around. Quality was poor. 9: Server was busy running around and not providing service to us. He was definitely«not there». He was sloppily dressed as compared to previous visits. 10. Mocha Mud pie was a disappointment; small and different recipe. 11. Would have liked a bread refill; but didn’t bother asking. $ 30+ for poor quality seafood is unacceptable. As other people said this place really has gone downhill. It definitely has.

Refer to Real D’s review. His review is spot on and I wish I had read it before I ate here. They force you to use their valet service and will not let you park even though the parking lot is literally five feet away, even though the service is free. It doesn’t make any sense and is completely backwards. The service was subpar. The staff was disinterested and not helpful. While ordering, our server, Marie, asked what soup and salad would we like with our meal, but did not specify that it was not included in the cost of the entrée. She should have asked if we would like a soup or salad instead of asking which one, otherwise she should let us know that it was an additional cost. Just seems unethical. All in all, it was severely underwhelming for the price. I will not be going back.

Hotel lounge type table setting, although the huge open windows give a wonderful river view. Friendly service, complimentary valet! A few delish appetizers but skip the mussels. They are served in a chorizo, chili — type sauce.. . Very greasy! I would not rate this as a high end seafood experience, just decent middle of the road!

Not what I would have expected from this level of the Landry’s Restaurant Group. Having said that, as we were walking outside to be seated my wife saw the salad bar area and nudge me to look over. I would expect to see lettuce like that at say, Texas Roadhouse, maybe, but not here. Lettuce was yellow, it was iceberg and romaine, and salad bar was not very tidy, just didn’t look appealing. We ordered a couple appetizers. The raw oysters were blasé and were not fully separated from the shell. The Rockefeller were way too wet, like a overbearing broken cheese sauce was used on them. The Kimchee Calamari had a sauce(we aren’t big into all the saucy stuff that seems to be all over everything nowadays, people over do it) and the description made no mention of a sauce, mind you, so we asked for another with no sauce. Not realising that there actually isn’t any kimchee in the dish at all, it’s just some sauce. I was expecting calamari lightly fried then tossed with kimchee and served, based off of the description. I believe that to be the only conclusion for one to draw. What it needs to read is– Calamari with a Kimchee sauce, done. Zero confusion! We decided to finish our wine and have dinner at Season’s 52.

Wow sad to say a lot has changed in the 5 years since I wrote my original review. Reservation was made for 7:30 for a birthday dinner 4 people. Requested a window seat was told they would«do their best» which we would later learn means absolutely nothing at all. OK thats fine understandable. So we get there and of course we get seated next to the salad bar as far away from the windows as possible in the middle of an aisle with waiters and waitresses constantly bumping past the chairs on both sides. NOPE! Sorry guys but that’s not happening. So we requested a new table and were told we would have to wait 20 minutes for one to become available. OK that’s fine well worth the wait to get out of that mess. Around 5 minutes later we get a window seat… HUH?! Why not just tell us the table was being cleaned and seat us there to begin with? At this point I knew we were in some pretty deep trouble with Charthouse. The service is now brutally slow. Took a very long time to get our drinks despite them being well staffed that night. Took over 30 minutes just to get our order in. 30 minutes after placing our order(yes we were there for an hour at this point) the waitress comes back to inform us that 3 of the 4 entrees we ordered were«out of stock» WOW really?! I thought she was joking at first… It took them THAT long to realize a popular item was out of stock?! We were expecting the entrees to come out and instead get hit with THAT?! It was so bad I had to just start laughing at that point because I knew this night was going down in flames. So we all reorder and guess what?! Yep our tickets get put to the very bottom of the line again behind multiple large parties. YEP no rush no bump up the chain no nothing. The tickets are literally treated like we just walked in again and the wait for the food was completely ridiculous. We should have walked out at that point but we were stuck that night and just decided to tough it out rather than waste time going somewhere else. Big mistake… Reservation at 7:30 walking out the door at 10… After all that the comp was a free lava cake for 10 $. GEE thanks a lot. I wouldn’t return to this place if you paid me.

First of all, I have zero tolerance for mediocrity in a restaurant at this price point. If you do have a tolerance for mediocrity, don’t bother to read further because this review is not for you. That being said, mediocre is too high of a ranking for this place. Okay. It was Valentine’s Day. Does that excuse the less-than-fast-food quality customer service I received, flat cocktail sauce they used, poor bartender skills, and pedestrian food they serve? Not in my book! It’s not like Valentine’s Day is a surprise. The place should have been been prepared to step up its game not leave at half-time. Started with valet parking. They clog up the exit so you can’t get in and out, and then pounce on you when you get impatient and decide to park it yourself. I was told I couldn’t park in the lot if I didn’t valet… and valet is free! I almost dared the parker to tow it. Highlight was we were seated at a nice table with a nice view. Drinks were wines and a cocktail. Cocktail was made wrong the first time. Came on-the-rocks when I ordered up. To his credit, the server caught it before giving it to me, but then I had to wait another 10 minutes after waiting 10 minutes the first time, and c’mon, how hard is it to make a Rob Roy up? It still wasn’t made properly. It was shaken when that is drink that is stirred. We ordered the tuna tartare appetizer and were sorely disappointed. Nothing distinctive about it We also ordered half dozen raw oysters on the half-shell. Came without cocktail forks… what did they expect us to do? Scoop them up with our fingers? I asked for extra horseradish on the side to jazz up the sauce. It was old and had lost its zip(along with the cocktail sauce). How can you be a seafood restaurant and have old cocktail sauce and old horseradish? I don’t know why, but I ordered another cocktail and waited and waited and waited for it to come. It never did, so I cancelled and ordered a glass of wine instead expecting to have it with dinner. Dinner took so long I finished it before dinner ever arrived. Nothing and I mean nothing distinctive about the entrees. In fact, my fish was so over cooked, tasteless, and stiff, I probably could have used it as diving board. I probably could have gotten something better… at. least as good… at that chain restaurant that features a red crustacean on its logo. To cap it off, the manager was making the obligatory rounds to tables asking, «how is everything?» which is always a joke. No one that is out for the evening, especially an occasion like Valentine’s Day, is going to say anything other than«everything is fine» no matter how bad it is to avoid making the others at the table uncomfortable. Besides, all they want to hear is good news, anyway. My experience is when you tell them how it really is, they apologize and walk on… so what’t the point? The server apologized, but I don’t blame him. Management is to blame. Two takeaways — 1) This is part of the Landry’s chain. Landry’s offers an incentive program to rack up points to earn a $ 25 off coupon. Points expire in a year, so unless you go about once a month to one of their restaurants, you probably won’t get enough points to get the coupon. My experience to date is that EVERY high end brand of Landry’s to which I have been is mediocre at best. The lower price point brands still aren’t best-in-class but are acceptable for what they are. The higher level restaurants consistently stink. Lesson learned — if they have to bribe you to eat at their restaurants, don’t expect a good experience. I’m throwing my Landry’s card in the shredder and avoiding the chain.(Note to Landry’s — focus on superior management and a better menu, and you won’t have to bribe people to come to your restaurants. Teach your bartenders how to make drinks, too.) 2) This place suffers from poor management, and poor management seems to be endemic in the Landry’s chain from my experience. I have been to at least 6 in various cities across the country, and found them all substandard. This is not an isolated case. So guess what? Adiós, Landry’s. Recommendation: The restaurant has stellar view of the City across the River. Get a table close to a window(since the bar is as far as you can get from the view) have a glass of wine or a beer since they stink at making cocktails, enjoy the view, and go somewhere else to eat. Two stars only because of the view. Otherwise, it’d be a one. P. S. Thank you Chart House for a lousy Valentine’s Day experience. Really made it special NOT.

This is an excellent high end seafood restaurant! Great location overlooking downtown Cincinnati. I would recommend this place to everyone. Only drawback is service was very slow especially since they were not busy at all?! Need to train service staff for better responsivenes. Food was great! Fish is very fresh and well prepared. I had the salmon Rockefeller just needed more sauce but was very good. Think i would of liked a risotto instead of the orzo just didn’t fit well?! Lava cake dessert is a must and split it with someone. It is a two person dessert. Also the shrimp beignets are very good.

This has long been my favorite restaurant. Always delicious food, attentive service, delightful ambiance and a spectacular view. I love watching the sun go down and the lights of the city come up and being reflected on the river. I especially like the lobster bisque and the amazing lava cake dessert. Oh, yeah, and the cosmopolitans are lovely, too!

We like the Chart House for a nice dinner out. The view is wonderful, service is very good and the seafood is some if the best in town. It doesn’t that they are part of the Landry club either.

Went for a special evening out. Seafood was amazing. King Crab Legs were Market price but worth every penny. Amazing and beautiful view of the Cincinnati skyline. When making reservations, staff asked multiple questions which made our visit even mire special. Our waitress was attentive, knowledge and gave suggestions. Oyster appetizer was great… would come back in a heartbeat

I went to chart house for Mother’s Day and it was so nice. The prime rib was delicious and if you sit in the right place you get great view of the river. I had a great time and plan to go back sometime soon.

I took my boyfriend to Chart House for his birthday this past week. I had been there before and had a great experience with delicious food and outstanding service, but alas this visit fell short of our expectations. I had requested a table that was perhaps a bit quieter than the main dining room and the hostess obliged with a table in the back corner … but then sat a group of 15 directly next to us. Their animated and alcohol fueled debates made for lovely dinner ambiance. As much as we enjoyed their forced company, as people who like to hear their own thoughts, we tried to quicken our meal, which proved an impossible task as the waiter was otherwise engaged in life or death matters. Our food arrived subpar, overcooked and over seasoned. My steak, ordered medium rare, was medium well at best and my boyfriend’s meal was so salty, he didn’t even attempt to finish. Condiments were not brought out and requests were ignored. On top of it all, we waited for at least 15 minutes for the waiter to bring us our check and another 10 for him to bring it back. All in all, this was far from the birthday celebration I had in mind. I’m sure we just caught them on an off day, but regardless, this visit left a bad taste in my mouth.
