IHOP

We just ordered 1 breakfast platter for the two of us coz we were not sure about the quantity. However, one was enough to fill us up, and it had pork sausages, folded omelette, hash brown and pancakes. Everything was delicious and I specifically loved their pancakes. We went for the New York cheesecake one and it came topped with crème and strawberries, fluffy and yum!
Location of this IHOP is also nice, standing at an elevated corner around the Pavilion Parkway with beautiful views around. Great stop for an early morning bite!

It’s clean but omg the service was awful we waited an hour and a half for our food and it was cold when we got it!!! Never come here

Unfortunately, they don’t have an option to prepare their eggs as I would have liked at this location, but given the amount of time I had to wait for my order, you’d think they might have. Dangerously placed between my gym & my drive home, IHOP is that sort of comfort food that you know is bad for you, but you indulge in once in a while anyway. Made all the more difficult by the fact that I’m on the Paleo diet, you can bet that I will not be enjoying any chocolate chip face pancakes again anytime soon.
But let’s focus on what I did experience. Even for Memorial Day, when they were quite busy, I was seated right away & had some tea. At a place like this, on my diet, I’m condemned to a life of side dishes, so that’s exactly what I went with, but found myself waiting almost 30 minutes, which seemed extremely absurd. The food itself was fine — quick service, edible, not gourmet, not out of a cardboard box, & the service was friendly enough, just frustratingly slow. Perhaps it’s the time of day/​luck of the draw, but a restaurant should be prepared for such things.

The service here sucks! Takes forever to get food and when you get it it’s wrong. Never get refills. Food is dry… I hate it but it’s the only thing open

The restaurant was very clean. The food was good. The strawberry crepes are excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the restroom was clean.

It should not take 45 minutes for a short stack! The server was friendly but had no sense of urgency and we waited 15 atleast for a box and it wasn’t busy at all we went around 2pm. We will drive out of our way to go to the Florence location.

The little girl and I were headed to Peppa Pig a couple weeks back and before we knew it we were on 471 and running out of options before we hit downtown. We got off at grand and drove around the loop of the new shopping center hoping to find something. Nearing the end and out of options we parked at IHOP hoping to to get in and out quick with our bellies full before had to pay concession prices for a popcorn dinner.
We parked and headed in as I checked Unilocal a little too late for our predicament. The place was empty. I mean empty. We sat as the only people in the place were leaving.
You would expect that a place this empty would have prompt service. You be right. Our waitress was on time with everything and not overly attentive. She was nice to my daughter and gave her the little extra attention you would expect there.
The food is what you would expect from an ihop. A breakfast that’s better than Waffle House and about on par with Frisches. We had breakfast and they do that well.
It’s worth stopping at if your wanting a breakfast and in the area. Everything is were it needed to be.

The food was good. However the service was mediocre. I’m a server as well and the only reason I’m writing this post is because our server dropped off our check mid way through our meal, not even asking if we would like anything thing else. I just find this really tacky and poor service.

This had to be the worst IHOP or restaurant for that matter that I have ever been to. At 8:30pm on a Friday night the place was virtually empty but by the service you would think the kitchen was slammed! Four people and not one persons order was right. I ordered the Cinnabon pancakes and got plain pancakes. When I asked for the pancakes I ordered the kitchen sent out buttermilk pancakes with a spoon full of the cinnamon mixture, not like it was supposed to be and no icing or whip topping. We ordered biscuits and gravy which we were told when our food was brought out that they no longer serve those! I have worked in restaurants so I understand when there are bad nights so I’m usually pretty understanding but this place was dead and had no excuse. Our waiter was really nice and you could tell he was very irritated with the kitchen staff but I would not recommend eating here, especially after reading the other reviews !!!

Took 45 min to get our food and our server needs to find a new job. Sadly she does not have a clue how to serve. Lindsey should find a new career.

The wait to get in sometimes takes awhile but the food is worth it! My favorite used to be the rooty tooty fresh n fruity combo, which they took off the menu. IHOP still has some of the best pancakes around and the service is always friendly.

I’ve been here quite a few times cause I live nearby, and every time is a gamble. If you can get Lindsey as your server by all means request her because she’s the only server there that knows what they’re doing and she’s super sweet.
Today we didn’t have Lindsey, just a grumpy server that came to our table 3 times throughout the meal: got our drink order, gave us our drinks/​took our order, and brought our check later. When she first came to the table my boyfriend asked her how she was and she said «I need a break». Ok, I’m a server too and yeah I get needing a break but you don’t poor-​mouth to your table, it’s inappropriate. Whatever, the manager brought our food and per usual they forgot my toast which the manager quickly brought out. The manager was polite and friendly.
I gave 2 stars because the food is always good, but the servers need training. P. s. we were sat at a dirty table, which also happens often when we come.

If there were better places for some amazing fruity pancakes, I probably wouldn’t go to IHOP. However, to my knowledge, near myself there is not.
SO, this leaves me with biting the bullet and going to IHOP. I was actually excited when I saw this location was opening in Newport. Now, not so much. I drive by it when going to the grocery and think about what a disappointment it is.
If you do want some good pancakes from IHOP, I would suggest going later at night, or earlier in the morning. For two reasons.
1. They aren’t going to be that busy so you can probably get your food in a normal amount of time. Actually, be acknowledged by the servers there. The service is consistently horrible. One time when we went in there, we were sat and then no one came to even acknowledge us or take our drink order within ten minutes, so we just got up and left and went somewhere else. Having a normal amount of tables for a server always seems to overwhelm every server here.
2. You are less likely to run into children or yelling hillbillies. Which is a huge problem at this location? There is either always screaming children with their parents yelling at them or ignoring them making everyone else miserable in the whole place. Today while here there were two grown women who fit in the hillbilly category yelling about «Eff that and eff him», very loud and it really wasn’t needed.
So the times with the least amount of people is the way to go when coming here.
My favorite thing to get is the Raspberry White Chocolate Chip pancakes. They are overly delicious. Most of their pancakes are. I would give these pancakes 4 out of 5 stars if I was rating them alone.

We came here without checking Unilocal and didn’t realize this place was getting clobbered by Unilocalers. Wow! Brutal!
My experience was not that bad at all. We walked in at 1 pm after Sunday mass and we were seated almost immediately. I was shocked considering most of the complaints were on the «horrible wait.» The hostess was pleasant and friendly and got us into a nice booth.
Our server Alisha showed up in less than five minutes, got our drink orders (coffee and milk) and came back in enough time to get our entrée orders. My wife and myself each ordered spinach and mushroom omelets, and each wanted extra bacon added. My wife wanted additional avocado and fresh fruit. My teenage son ordered a crêpe breakfast and a hash brown, and we ordered a stack of pancakes to share.
Our food got served in a timely manner. The servings were generous and the food was very good. We were hungry thus dug right it in however, when we were close to finishing our brunch, we realized that they forgot a few things. My wife didn’t get her fresh fruit, and my son did not get his hash brown. They brought it out asap when they brought it to their attention however, they were full by then thus, decided to take it to go.
Overall the place was clean and the experience was positive. I would’ve given them 4 stars however, I took a point off because they missed some of our orders which in retrospect should’ve been made complimentary. Maybe our timing was good since we did not experience a horribly long wait, and the brunch crowd had probably thinned out a bit thus our orders were not messed up. We’ll see next time. :)

Ok i have been to many Ihops over the years but have never had the great service like I did today! The food was good as always but Natasha was one of if not the best server I have had in a long time… Job well done!!!

DO NOT EVER EAT HERE!!! We waited for over an hour and never got served. The poor waiter was trying his best, maybe the kitchen was out of sync? A table (or two came in after us) and were served before us. We had 6 people at our table and the other tables had 2 – 4 people. I will never ever be back. I suggest that you don’t even try this place.

This place is very nice inside and that’s expected since it is new. When we walked in the staff was very nice and polite. Later we found out that it was «Big Wig Day». All the higher ups were there evaluating the staff and the operations. We waited WAY too long for our food and at points there were 4 employees at one table just talking away with a mother and her kids. Once the food finally came out the omelette that my girlfriend had was not warm at all. My country fried steak was huge and very filling. If you wanted breakfast food I’d probably go to Cracker Barrel, Taste of Belgium or Bob Evans.

Hadn’t been since they built the place but figured on a snowy day we might as well go. Should have stayed home. There were more people working then there were guests and we still had to ask, after 40 mins, where are food was and when it would be coming. The omelet was cold and the French toast was overdone. When asked «how was your food?» We were honest and said cold and «just okay.» We were asked if there was anything that could be done but knew we would wait forever or nothing would change since those around us were complaining of the same thing.
Our waitress wasn’t too bad just would not let up on the fact «corporate» was there and the building and land was 3million dollars and they are just making ends meet.
Suggestion. Put half the people that are on the floor back in the kitchen and speed up service. We won’t be coming back for $$ cold food anytime soon…

The food is yummy here — if you can handle the wait on it getting to the table after you order it. The staff is very nice and try their best to give great service.
I really like the steak tips with eggs and pancakes as a meal — they’re yummy and juicy. I also like the pancakes and the different flavors of syrup.
