Terrible experience in the framing department. Dropped two pieces off to be framed, and was given a two day pick up window. This was then pushed back 3 separate times. I was even sent an email at 4 in the morning letting me know my work was finished. I drove the store, and they were not finished. I was told by almost every employee it was someone else’s fault. The price has also risen 2 fold. Something to do with matting? First and last time working with there framing department, or the store in general.

This Michaels location is VERY busy! Not only busy, this store is overwhelmingly cluttered. I went on a Sunday afternoon, during a Bengals game(thinking I would be able to avoid the crowd somewhat). Overall, the store is like any other Michaels with tons of craft materials and seasonal items available. One thing I’d like to point out about this location was the lack of service. The«greeter» at the door(I use the term«greeter» loosely) wasn’t very friendly or inviting to the customers that entered. Immediately, I was putoff by this since my prior experiences at Michaels were better. Oddly enough, this same«greeter» ended up being my cashier. She was a little rude and not at all helpful. Going forward, I’ll still visit Michaels for my craft needs but I’ll definitely pick a different location next time. The Newport store just wasn’t that great.
