This is a good place for drinking, the food is alright, but there isn’t enough menu variety also it is very limited after dinner. Once you’ve been here a few times you are over the nana’s thing.

We both had beef pies one shepherds, one with guiness. I would give mine 3 stars, my friend gave hers 4 stars(the shepherds.) Their crust is to die for. Service was excellent. A warm charming place to eat and have a beer.

I can’t wait to return and try different items off their menu; really neat place. It is smallish, like you would imagine an Irish pub to be and décor to match. Everything was very clean, no sticky tables! We were seated right away, but I think we must have arrived at just the right time because a few minutes later people were waiting to get in. The menu has something for everyone, whether you are a seafood lover, want something more authentically Irish, or in the mood for something more American like a philly steak sub. I went with the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas and soda bread and I was definitely not disappointed. Portions are large. I had never tried soda bread and had imagined it would be something dense and dry, but it was amazingly moist and slightly sweet, served cold. Delicious. The mashed potatoes were super creamy, and the meatloaf was juicy and flavorful. Really enjoyed it. I was excited that peas were a side because I LOVE peas and you don’t often see them on a menu. Next time I visit, I am looking forward to sampling the scotch eggs and philly steak sub. My friend got the sub and it looked amazing. She said it was very good. She also got their clam chowder and was not very impressed. I’m not a seafood fan, so I can’t give an opinion here other than to remark that it was sort of brown instead of the creamy white that I have previously seen in a chowder. But hey, who am I to say that Irish chowder is the same as anywhere else, right? There are only two little things that kept me from giving 5 stars: our waitress and the fact that the restroom was just a couple of feet behind our table. Ew! From the moment we walked in, it was apparent that our waitress was disinterested. She wasn’t necessarily unfriendly, but she obviously wasn’t making any effort to be super friendly either. Her manor made us feel slightly unwelcome. However, the second waitress that came to clear our table was not only very friendly, but had a great sense of humor and appeared to enjoy her job. I wish she would have been with our table the whole time. In any case, I am definitely looking forward to returning to this charming restaurant; perhaps in warmer weather and taking advantage of their outside seating. Tip: during busy times, parking will be hard to find. Cheers!

Imitation Irish food partially frozen steak fries with their Irish nachos. You ever been the Kells in Portland Oregon would be disappointed in this place, the Scotch eggs were lacking sausage of any kind maybe a small and I mean very small amount I had to disassemble and took my butter knife to scrape where the sausage was supposed to be… atmosphere was wrong. Close small tables and robot servers. They need to re-think the layout of this place. Felt like an LA sandwich shop, not a cozy Irish pub. Disappointing

Food was delicious but their beer selection was pretty weak. However, to be fair… I am from Portland am a bit biased when it comes to beer. Having a better beer selection would easily elevate the bar to the same level as the restaurant. We came on a Sunday night, it seemed fairly busy and we received excellent service. While I wouldn’t necessarily return for their selection of booze I would definitely come back for the food!

Had the tuna melt and the soup of the day, which was country tomato. My friend had salad with soup. Both meals were excellent. The tuna melt had a large portion of fresh tuna balanced nicely with just enough mayo for flavor but not swimming in it. The bread was toasted perfectly. The soup was incredible! Veggies were nicely crisp and the broth was stellar. The staff was very friendly and very responsive.

My goodness, if you are a vegetarian anywhere near Nana’s Irish Pub you need to get in here immediately! My fiancé’s chicken pot pie was delicious, but my vegetarian curry pot pie was what dreams are made of! It is perfectly creamy, bready, sweet and spicy, but the vegetables still have that irresistible snap to them. This is the perfect place for a cold day, or any day for that matter. I must say one thing, however, stay away from the«Planter’s Punch» cocktail… it tastes and smells like freshman year of college… I’ll just leave it at that.

Great food and beer, however, the service is subpar usually. Count on your order being forgot about, messed up, or the bill being too high. Tourists abound will disagree but I live here.

The Shepherds Pie was outstanding! Definitely will return for that flavourful dish. We also shared an order of Scotch Eggs. Good flavour too but traditionally, the yolks are supposed to be a wee loose, not hardboiled. It’s just easier to prepare them that way in the states. Get there early as this is a relaxing pub and our drinks were good also. Great service. Very pleased with our first time at Nana’s.

This place was incredible! I got the chicken pot pie, which was probably the best pot pie I’ve ever had. The only reason I give this place a 4 and not a 5 was because it took us forever to get the attention of the waitress. There was only one waitress on a busy Friday night!

This is one of our regular stops when vacationing on the Oregon Coast. We cannot imagine our time here without the great food and atmosphere of Nana’s!

I had a most dissapointing experience at this pub and I shall explain why but first a little background I have studied cusine for many years, apprenticing with master chefs and traveling throughout the US and the world seeking the best cuisine and techniques. I have been reviewing restaurants with my wit and scalpel sharp palate for years and among the greatest joys of my writing comes to me when I need to rack my brain for ways to describe the often horrid and pale foods placed in front of me. Long hours i have spent in though to compose works of humor and prose to eviscerate microwaved slop that was thrust to my table by slack jawed waiters. Unfortunately I will not be poetically pulverizing this Irish pub in such a manner, it is with the utmost reverence that i proclaim i am unable to find anything to complain about. I understand this will come as a complete shock to those who have read my reviews both here and in print. I assure you that you are not nearly as perplexed as i am at the thought. Upon entering the establishment my party and I were greeted by a friendly staff member and within seconds we were shown to a table near the bar. The staff maintained a pleasant if not aggressively friendly demeanor that showed genuine care for the work that they were undertaking for the entirety of the experience. The appetizers arrived in short order three simple dishes that always give me a myriad of reasons to seethe with anger over improper technique(scotch eggs) to fume about proper seasoning(salmon spread) or to bemoan a lack of quality ingredients(Emerald isle chips) alas to my horror they were all flawless in execution and presentation. The salmon spread was rich and aromatic with capers and onion, the scotch eggs were the perfect balance of crunch and savory egg with a side if sweet buttery pickles and the chips were perfect and topped with exceptional cheese and bacon. Surely this charade could not continue with the main course, I chose the Guinness Steak pie, a rich blend of beef and veggies in a thick gravy topped with puff pastery, an excellent multi-faceted comfort food that i would certainly be dissapointed in… my only dossapointment was with my ability to find a flaw. This dish was the embodiment of perfection, in my entire life of the hundreds of renditions of this dish i have encountered this one was truly astounding the layers of flavor and perfectly cooked vegetables came to a crescendo with the perfectly tender and succulent marinated beef. There is not a negative word i can say about this experience with the exception of my dossapointment in my ability to find a flaw. Bravo Nana’s you have beaten me.

If my grandma was Irish, I’d imagine her cooking would be like what was coming out of the kitchen here. The Steak and Guinness Pie was what comfort food looks for when it wants comfort food. Absolutely the best rendition I’ve enjoyed. Ambience is warm and inviting– just like a public house should be. Well worth the visit. We’ll be back.

I have to bump up my rating for Nana’s – we’ve been back here several times since my original review and the food is consistently good, service is always friendly and I just love this place! Even though I always feel like I should go to a seafood place when I’m on the coast, I usually end up here instead. So worth it.

What a fun place on the coast. We walked around town, we are thinking of reclocating. Settled on Nana’s. Started with beer and wine. We had the vegitarian pot pie. Very yummy. I wanted to bread pudding, but I was sooo full. I couldn’t. We will be back! The service was great!

I have only ever ordered the reuben sandwich here, and various drinks(my favorite being the coffee nudge) but the reason I only ever order the reuben here is because the first time I came here I ordered the reuben and it knocked my socks off… so I have to get it every time I’m here now. It’s really very good and it’s also different than how other places do their reubens. Try it, you won’t be sorry. Service varies — depends on who you get or who is working that day. Outside patio is OK except for no patio umbrella’s or canopy of any sort for shade and when loud vehicles or motorcycles whizz by. We don’t like to sit inside because of the way the inside area is arranged. You constantly see people going in and out of the bathrooms and for us that is just not appetizing when you’re trying to enjoy a meal. I think a lot of this place is hype, obviously. This is America. If you want the true Irish pub experience — go to Ireland. But for America, and for the Oregon Coast especially, you could do much worse, for sure. We’ll be back — for the reuben, of course. :)

Nana’s just served me one of the best steak-and-mushroom pies I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating in all my years on earth, I sh*t you not. The friendly service and ridiculously creamy Guinness were just the frosting on top. Not sure if this is common knowledge, but I learned that most of their produce and pork comes from Nana’s Farm, a related business.

Best Irish Pub in Oregon, seems like the bar was in Newport for a hundred years but it’s only a 7 year old pub! Great food, staff, and atmosphere. Bring your large group and experience speedy service and exceptionally fast cooks. We will return! … … … … We returned 2 days later and our experience wasn’t 5 stars worthy, I haven’t be — rated a business but I think this might be worthy… Server forgot both of my clients drinks and the clients then asked for their drink orders to be cancled. The Chowder came out slightly warm, but it was still tasty. I think the Guinness is what saved their rating from going lower. I’d recommend following up with better questions regarding any order you place during the 3p-6p happy hour… very deceitful…

Two friends had told us they loved this place so off we went. We could have eaten on the patio with our dog, but it was a tad cool. It’s nice that this is a dog-friendly place. Indoors it felt like a cozy pub… it even had photos of the RMS Titanic on the wall. The servers were wonderful and handled the steady influx of customers like pros. Our food took a bit of time but it was worth the wait. My partner had the best dish: Vegetarian Celtic Curry Pie for $ 12: «Carrots, parsnips, golden raisins, pinto beans, corn, mushrooms, celery, onion, red pepper flakes, and garlic in a savory yellow curry cream sauce and topped with puff pastry.» We both LOVED it. I ordered the tuna melt. It was a tuna salad sandwich instead… no melting that I could detect. It came with cole slaw and thick fries. The menu had tons of Irish food choices and an array of desserts. And the beers, oh my, the beers to choose from. This all means more visits. Afterwards, you can head on down to Nye Beach and take a walk on the beach. It doesn’t get much better than that.
