Great seafood and other dishes. As in «OMG! That’s so good!» and clean — bathro so white I imagined Nurse Ratchett standing behind me. We had the tempura oysters, Tokyo style so more of a pancake batter. Perfectly cooked, excellent dipping sauce. Seafood noodle soup with veggies very good, stirred in some of my GF’s curry for a little more body, delish. Great view right on the water.

Every dish we had was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was very friendly. We got a table for six with no reservations on a Saturday evening. I would definitely go again on a future visit to Newport.

Um.ya.we are locals and just discovered this place. We feel like dinks for not finding it sooner. All the food was fantastic. Noodles are home made and it shows. If you are in the area, don’t judge it by the small and worn look. It is worth it, you will not be disappointed.

This is a favorite in our house. The ultimate comfort food. Everything we have tried. on the menu is outstanding. The potstickers are the best we have ever had. Homemade, crispy outside with wonderful sauce. My favorites are beef phở, Thai curry noodle, kung pao tofu, and crispy chicken or shrimp. The family who owns Noodle Café are very sweet and always very welcoming.

Last time I ate here, I was so smitten by the taste, I promised to bring my parents here. Ate here today with my parents and it seemed a bit of color. We had the Jung bong soup and the udon. Both were good; but not amazing. On a good day, noodle café is hard to beat; but we were unlucky

I thoroughly enjoyed the two dinners I have had here at Noodle Café. As others have said, the appearance of the dockside restaurant will not blow you away — come in anyway! Tonight I had the Jung Bong Seafood broth and loved it. Be prepared to have the“chile sniffles”. It’s with it though. The Noodle Bread is to die for, comes with soups and salads, and is available as a side for $ 1.25 a piece. It’s worth the five quarters you will spend. The potstickers are yummy also. Well, you won’t do wrong by coming in, so just do it and let your stomach thank you.

Their unassuming name belies the amazing food this place serves up on the regular. My first visit last year, with my husband, was absolutely perfect — a seat next to the window to watch the gorgeous sunset over the bay, appetizer of crispy chewy delicious wontons stuffed with crabby goodness, Mongolian beef(for him), and Curry Noodles with Shrimp for me. When the boy asked for sriracha, the owner/server brought out some homemade chili sauce that disappeared pretty fast, accompanied by discrete moans and quiet declarations that the beef and sauce was dyn-o-mite. My shrimp curry was amazing — delicately cooked shrimp over chewy(house made!) noodles with plenty of vegetables in a perfectly balanced curry. Over all, it was easily a $ 200 dinner experience, for less than $ 50. I’ve been back a few times recently for business in Newport, and I make it a point to stop on the way out of town to bring the boy back his«noodles».

12/29/2010 pros: — great service — great food: steamed oysters with ginger sauce(fresh from Yaquina Bay), «Jung Bong» Spicy Seafood Broth(spicy scallion paprika broth, Chinese noodles, large shrimp, scallop, calamari, and mixed vegetables), Oysters with Scallions(fresh Yaquina Bay oysters, wok-tossed with scallions and onion). Fresh seafood is a given here and most of the time, freshness is enough for a great meal. cons: — hidden location, somewhat cramped, cave-like locale, some tables: too close for comfort 4.75 stars

Sorry folks but, we’re saving you a lot of trouble. We read the reviews on the food which were good. We invited another couple to meet us there for lunch 6÷15÷15. We went down to the Bay Front the day before to check it out and have some noodles. We went in the Noodle Café and were seated. As we sat waiting for service we were overwhelmed by a strong foul odor. The longer we sat there the stronger it got. We decided we couldn’t eat in the stench. As we were leaving we asked the owner what the foul odor was, she said it was coming from under the floor and there was nothing she could do about it. We thanked her and left to the Thai Restaurant across the street. Rob

Very small portion of stir fry vegetables. I would need 2 or 3 to be satisfied. Inadequate

We have continually came back to this incredible jewel in Newport. The food is so fresh. My wife got the Shrimp Curry with noodles and I had the Chicken Curry(again), both were incredible. Spicy with an incredible flavor profile. We would definitely recommend anyone to eat here again!

We ordered The jang bong. it was super salty. On the bright side the ingredients vegetables and seafood were fresh. The portions are not generous as the price was steep. $ 13 – 14 for each dish. We ordered the fried udon which had seafood too. The waitress said pleasantries but didn’t feel sincere. This is the highest rated restarant here. I feel sorry for people who live here since good asian korean fare seems to be scarce.

Noodle House may look humble on the outside, but the food is full of outsized flavors and their dining room faces right out onto the harbor. Their tempura oysters were delicious, with not even a hint of fishy-ness. My wife and I both had noodle soups – the jung bong for me and the ramen with tofu & seaweed for my wife – and both were excellent. Their homemade noodles had just the right bite and their soups were incredibly flavorful. The jung bong is a particularly good choice for those who love spice. Highly recommended! P. S. Their full leaf oolong tea is surprisingly good.

WONDERFUL food! I had Thai curry noodles and my husband had the phở. Both were delicious. We could hear the sea lions barking while we ate, which was fun. The staff was so friendly and the ambiance of the place was cozy and relaxing. We’ll definitely be stopping in again!

I read some of the reviews before going, so we all ordered 2 orders of the amazing noodle bread for our appetizer. It reminds me of a Chinese pretzel on the outside and Okinawan doughnut on the inside. Sooooo good! Now about the Phó. Where else are you going to get already spiced up phở with rib eye? Yes I did say rib eye! It was amazing! I could have eaten another bowl! Also it is right on the bay, so we sat outside and watched the boats pass by. What a great experience we had that day.

We love this place and probably consider it our top Newport restaurant. Just delicious Asian cuisine in a casual atmosphere overlooking the harbor with fresh homemade noodles. I love the Thai noodle curry dishes! Amazing curry with such complex flavors! I always order it here. My husband likes the veggie udon dish and pretty much all kids that go here seem to love the asian wraps– mine are partial to the shrimp and the thai chicken ones specifically. Nice portions for kids! On a prior visit, I had the kung pao and these people do not fool around with their spiciness– if you request it hot, be prepared to man up and take it and perhaps order some milk because you’re gonna need it. I love it! Check this place out!

You gotta eat here if you’re in Newport. That’s just all there is to it. I’d been reading reviews about this little place since before I moved to the coast — then discovered that they’d closed for several weeks during the middle of winter — and so couldn’t try them for waaaaay too long. But today — wow. Fresh noodles. Fresh seafood off the local boats. Fresh veggies… Fresh and real and wonderful! I read through the menu descriptions as I am not a big calamari or oyster fan(at least not yet — I may eventually find that my aversion is really to land-locked restaurants and cooks mis-cooking of those…) but for now — I am still avoiding them. And a lot of these dishes have one or the other or both… Since I was there at the start of the lunch service, I got to spend a minute talking with the owner, and with her help, I veered toward a few more familiar tastes, and decided to go with the shrimp curry noodle soup – The hand-made noodles came loaded with wonderful fresh spring veggies — asparagus, whole peas, carrots, onion, mushrooms, — possibly eggplant — peppers… a and a rich, slightly sweet, coconut milk-red curry broth, topped with 7 beautiful shrimp, a lime wedge, and a tiny bouquet of basil leaves. I’ve posted a pic — but I forgot and ate all the shrimp before I snapped the image(heh!) But it was AMAZING. A-MAZE-ING. And a HUGE bowl of noodle soup — my grandmother would have used that bowl as a vegetable serving dish on her Thanksgiving table! I tried their crab and cheese fried wontons — for what amounted to dessert! They are also wonderful — rich with crab — and served with a lightly sweet dipping sauce. I’ve also posted a pic of the view of Yaquina Bay — shot through the window where I was sitting. — Can’t wait for a day without these spring thunderstorms so we can eat outdoors on the bay! What a great find — and terrific food, service, and location! I’m not sure 5 stars is enough!
