U-Store Self Storage Newport

Wonderful unit– internal units are nice enough to live it! Seriously the unit was perfect and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Plus when they changed owners/​managers– they reduced the already reasonable fee. Hope we can find another as good if we need this service again.

My husband and I relocated to Newport toward the end of January 2010. We needed a storage unit and chose Northgate Storage for its close location to our house and for their competitive rates.
While the location and price were obvious benefits, we also found that the couple who own the place were very professional and accommodating. Not only did we receive great service from the couple, but we also enjoyed the fact that the entire premises was kept up, clean, and organized.
Our unit was very spacious and while I don’t know how long these storage units have been around, the unit looked and felt very new. When we moved in, it was clean and free of any cobwebs, dirt, stains, and strange smells. (The prior storage unit that I had in Tigard, Oregon contained all of the above.)
We kept our things at Northgate Storage for almost two years. When it came time for us to move again, we were pleasantly surprised to find our storage unit in the exact same shape it was two years ago: clean, dry, and free of any odors. Being on the Oregon coast, with all of the moisture we get, I anticipated some degree of humidity or other effects — but nothing of that sort. I then remembered the owners telling us how the units are properly ventilated for such weather.
The owners were sad to see us go, but nonetheless, were very helpful through the end. I thanked the owners for their outstanding quality and promised them that I would tell everyone I could about them! I’m about 4 or 5 months late in writing this review, but I just wanted to share how great this place is.
Again, if you’re relocating to the central Oregon coast (Newport, Depoe Bay, Toledo, Waldport) I highly recommend Northgate Storage. I think that even if you moved to Lincoln City (about 20 – 25 miles north) it’s worth the drive for a clean, dry, newer storage unit.
