Cerbo’s Hampton Nursery

I’m not one to usually even write reviews and as a small business owner myself, I know how much reviews can impact your business, but my experience with this company was SO bad that I think people should know what they are getting into before using them. I wanted to buy a 12 foot tall pine tree. I tried calling the office there many times. I finally was able to talk to the owner, Anthony and we discussed the type of tree etc. I tried to call back to tell him I definitely wanted the particular tree I went and looked at and after 5 attempts and no call backs I decided to drive over there and give him the deposit. It was a Sat morn at 10am. They are supposed to be there until 12. The gate was locked. I called Anthony’s cell phone # which was posted on the gate and still got no call back. I waited until Monday, tried calling again and I finally got him and told him I wanted the tree delivered to my house. He asked if I had a machine to get the tree off the truck and I told him no. I told him I had the hole dug and the truck could pull up right next to the hole. The morning of delivery the truck shows up with 2 men, no machine. Mind you, this tree is 12ft tall with a 2000lb 2’X4″ ball on it. These guys pried, pulled, pushed and poked this tree so much trying to get it off the truck that the tree started to come loose in the ball. One of the men was clearly annoyed and told me that he had better thing to do than this. They finally got it off the truck and into the hole but it was now laying down in the hole. I asked if they were going to stand it up and they told me that was not their problem and left! I called my neighbor that thank goodness was nice enough to come up with his tractor and he helped me stand the tree up and I was able to get it planted after another hour of struggling with it. Between the lack of customer service all the way around, the attitude of the driver, and just the fact that Anthony thought it was OK, I’ll NEVER use or recommend this business to anyone.

Love this nursery. Selection is designed to reflect the native plants, seasonal and problem areas in your garden (ie. deer, erosion). I can stop by and ask for items and if not in stock, they will call you upon it’s arrival. Very friendly and easy going staff. Would give it 5 stars if business hours were longer on Saturdays.
