Ciao Bella Salon

I was tipped off to this place by a co-​worker, and I’m so glad! I had my hair cut and highlighted by Julie who was amazing ! She was so friendly and willing to look at pictures on my phone of what types of colors and cuts I wanted before touching my hair. The environment was clean and the prices were more than reasonable. I’ve just moved to the Newton area recently and this will definitely be my salon from now on. I would recommend it to anyone! There is metered street parking in front of the salon, but there is a free lot right around the corner as well !

I ended up at this place by accident, due to it’s name being similar to another Newton salon I had gone to a few times. This one has the Italian correct :-). I had a gel manicure done for an upcoming vacation. The manicurist did a great job, no streaks, no imperfections. Because with Shellac you’re living with those imperfections for a long time, you want it done right. The manicure lasted through my 1 ½ week vaca, no problem. The second time I went was at the last minute. I walked in and the owner took me right away for a French manicure. Again, a great manicure, this one lasting for 3 weeks until it was growing out so much I had to remove it. I like that they ask about the shape and length you prefer your nails and don’t argue when you tell them what you want. Good selection of colors, reasonably priced.

I am a very satisfied customer of Ciao Bella Salon! I chose this salon last fall based on Unilocal reviews. Maria has given me a couple of great cuts AND a PERFECT updo on my May 17^th wedding.
Maria is great with cutting curly hair and giving suggestions about taming a wild mane. She is very pleasant, and I feel confident in her skills.
She did a trial run for my wedding updo and I was so pleased! When I called to schedule myself and my maid of honor for my Saturday morning wedding, I was so nervous because I was told another wedding had booked 9am appointments. However the salon promptly called me back and said that Maria would come in at 7:30 am for me and my sister! I was so excited.
The wedding arrived, both Maria and myself were on time, and the styling was perfect! I’ll definitely continue to recommend this salon.

I ended up here after being in the area to get a cut at a different salon, my appointment was canceled last minute and I’d come from Chelsea and refused to go back with my medium length, sad, boring «new mom» hairdo. Kellie cut my hair and did an amazing job! She was super sweet helpful (i told her «i trust you, do whatever, i just dont want it ‘boy short’» and I left very happy with a bitchin’ fun bob. Will definitely be back.

I was allergic to the facial. It was almost a hundred dollars and 3 hours later my face was red and scary… never happened before and I’ve had many facials. People are really nice. Haircut was awesome!

Nothing is perfect when it comes to doing 9 women’s hair at 6 in the morning. But every one of us walked out of that salon looking AMAZING.
I came in for a wedding bridal hair trial with a few ideas of what I thought I wanted and it turned out that none of the styles worked well with me. My stylist, Kellie, was soooo patient. I ended up coming back for a second hair trial and we nailed it. She is an incredible artist and can do anything that you show her. She has amazing attention to detail and adds her own personal touches with great taste. I was absolutely thrilled with my hair.
Carla was my makeup artist and just as patient. I rarely wear makeup and thought that it would be cool to try something a little different. I ended up not liking the way I looked and Carla understood just what I didn’t like and perfected it. I was so happy with my makeup. She has awesome talent and can do something exotic and styles that you can find from a magazine, but she is also great at the natural look, if that is what you are going for.
I am the type that gets my hair cut at Supercuts (usually a dry cut, because I am so cheap…), but I will absolutely make the trip to Caio Bella from now on. Great girls, great conversation and they made me feel beautiful!

Maria did an excellent job on my partial highlights and cut and my husband’s cut. She was very pleasant and pretty quick and the price was super reasonable ($ 135 for my cut, my husband’s cut, and my partial highlights. The place isn’t much for frills… not the nicest inside or newest décor, but it isn’t dingy either… just not super new.
I will say they don’t always answer when you call, but that is because it is a small shop from what I could see.
I will go back for convenience and try again :) Hopefully it continues to be as good as our first time.

I don’t know what’s up with this place. I really liked the first cut I got, but when I tried to call and make an appointment for a second cut, no one answered the phone, even after several tries. I ended up going somewhere else that turned out to be disappointing. I managed to get another appointment at Ciao Bella again, this time with a different stylist, Maria. I asked for a pixie. The cut was good. I also had a brow wax and a pedicure there, and these services were well-​done. To top it off, the price is right: $ 40 for a good haircut and spa services in Newton? Yes, please!
But here’s the catch: their phone has been disconnected or the number has been changed and not posted to the website. The other day I called several times and got a recording that the number I had dialed was not a local number. What is up with that? I ended up going to yet another salon where I received a great cut, but the price for return patrons is TWICE the price of Ciao Bella. I’m not sure I’ll return to CB. The service is good, but not great. The prices are great, but if I can’t get through to make an appointment, it doesn’t matter.

I’ve been coming here for several years (I primarily go to Silva) and my 13 year old has now started coming here (She goes to Kellie)
I have always gotten fabulous cuts here — very consistent (I always disliked other places because I could never get the same cut twice… I’ve never had that problem with Silva)
I’ve recently made a big change with my hair color, and Silva has been fantastic — working with me even when my hair did unpredictable things and making sure I have exactly what I want.
As for my daughter, she LOVES Kellie… and is looking forward to the purple ombré color she’s getting next week.

I found Ciao Bella through a Unilocal review of Kellie and I have been seeing her for over a year now. She always does an amazing job on my hair and when I had a job interview she went the extra mile and put more curl in my hair. My blowouts always last several days. I’ will continue to see Kellie!

I have had several hair cuts at Dellaria and have been unhappy every time so I decided to find someone else. I just had a hair cut with Maria and I love it! She really listened to what I wanted and it came out better than I imagined. She also did a great job styling. Usually they put tons of products to get my hair straight (which is totally unnecessary) but she didn’t and my hair is so soft it doesn’t even feel like mine.

I went to this salon because of the reviews on Unilocal.Must say I was pretty disappointed. I actually feel bad for the stylist because she did a descent job with my hair but she barely spoke to me (she had a deep accent). I had also made an appointment 3 days before for eyebrows and when she was done with my hair the girl who was supposed to do my eyebrows told me she was busy with another client and to come back tomorrow… why did I even make the appointment then?! There was also hair on my chair I had to wipe off and the place is filthy. They did not offer me coffee or even water. My hair was pretty wet and went through the cover into my jeans! They have a lot of cheap decorations up. Will never go again.

Wonderful place, wonderful people. My wash and cut was $ 38, and they had no problem fitting me in for an unscheduled eyebrow wax. They’re very warm, and very professional. A+!

I go here every few months to get my brows waxed. The staff is friendly, the salon is clean and bright, and they do a great job. More than once, they’ve fit me in on very, very short notice — and didn’t make me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing them. Love them!

I’ve been here twice for eyebrow waxing. I must say that both times, it went pretty well considering that I had a different person each visit.
I believe it was Sylvia who did my eyebrows the first time, she is one of the owners. I really enjoyed her, she was pleasant to talk to and really knew what she was doing.
The second visit, I had Carla, she was decent. Very quiet while waxing my eyebrows even though I was trying to talk to her and ask questions… I suppose I’m okay with that.
I really like this place since it’s only about a 10 minute drive away from where I am and the prices are very reasonable, it was $ 12 for eyebrow waxing. I am still discovering this area and trying out different estheticians.

This place is really neat.
I initially went in looking for a wax and pedicure. I was told that I probably should have made an appointment, and they had done everything they could to squeeze me in, but it was not possible, as I had to work later that day. Carla (I believe her name is) did a fantastic job on my very blonde caterpillar eyebrows. I must say, they look gorgeous! In addition to this, they are relatively inexpenssive.

Love this salon. The staff is friendly and down to earth, and always make you feel comfortable. And they talk just the right amount.
I’ve had many services here over the years, and every time have been pleased with the results– that’s saying a lot! I’ve had my hair cut, colored, highlighted, put in a fancy ‘do for an event, makeup done, nails done, and had a facial. Every service is fairly priced and expertly executed.
I have never been this pleased with a salon before, and give it my highest recommendation.

Ciao Bella is a hidden gem.
I don’t bestow such cliches lightly on hair salons. My experience with hair care in Boston has been mostly disappointing at best. I found Ciao Bella’s review here on Unilocal and decided to give them a try. That was over a year ago, and I’m a steady customer.
The stylists at CB are able to both do a radical new style, and then can maintain that style (if you want) thru subsequent visits. This sounds like a no-​brainer but I’ve had a very hard time finding a stylist who could deliver a good cut and then keep it looking good. They do a great job at Ciao Bella.

I continue to visit Ciao Bella and Julie for my cuts/​highlights. I like the place, the people are friendly and it’s priced right ($ 38 for wash, cut, style for my shoulder-​length hair). It feels *really good* to trust someone and walk in for a cut knowing I’ll come out happy instead of disappointed and dissatisfied.
Gone are the days of taking paper scissors to my own hair!

I got my hair colored at Ciao Bella last week and I was really upset with how it turned out. It barely looked like I colored it, aside from the roots and the roots didn’t match the rest of my hair. I’ve done better with a box of L’Oreal in my bathroom. I thought about asking for my money back or demanding it be fixed except I had to fly to CA early the next morning for 10 days. :-(
I like the haircuts I get and they especially do a great job styling my hair and straightening it, but I cannot recommend them for coloring.
