Hummingbird House

Such a great place to eat! My husband and I have date days here for breakfast or lunch. Everything is made in the kitchen (homemade style) and delicious. Every single thing we’ve ever ordered has been perfect. The view is outstanding and the ambiance is so unique and just screams Sussex County. Love it here!

Hands down my favorite place to get breakfast! The staff is super friendly, it has a unique atmosphere and the food is ALWAYS delicious! I highly recommend their home fries, amazing. It’s a fabulous spot to have breakfast/​lunch with an old friend!

The blueberry brie burger will change your life. It’s different and delightful. The bacon jam is also fairly unforgettable. Cute lunch place, plenty of seating, fabulous food!

My sister and I had breakfast at this fun place this morning. The place is charmingly decorated. The wait staff was attentive. Sibling had the blueberry French toast sandwich which was egg, sausage patty and cheese with a blueberry compote housed between two slices of French toast. I had two farm fresh eggs over easy with herbed home-​fried fresh potatoes and a link of smoked Kielbasa. Sibling had tea and I had pumpkin spiced coffee. My meal came with a choice of home made preserves for the English muffin that came with it. It was very fine to have REAL preserves instead of the fructose packed Smuckers jelly/​jam packs available with most breakfasts. The only negative thing I could find was the noise level was a bit high probably due to the high ceilings and wooden floors. It is a ‘must do again’ place for sure! Recommended!!!

Humble atmosphere, spectacular food. I am so glad a gem like this exists in the mundane repetitive restaurant scene of North-​western New Jersey.

Had a fabulous breakfast beside an open window with a chill breeze blowing in. Ordered an omelet which was great. The toast that came with pineapple rhubarb jam, and I ordered a pancake with real maple syrup and homemade butter. Breakfast doesn’t get better than that.

Brilliant little pit stop, lovely food (the pancakes are huge!), and super owner who is kind and charming. In fact she’s baking us a fresh pie to take camping! What a gem.

We went for lunch after reading reviews. Very quaint and unique place. Food was different and very fresh. Service was a bit slow and I did not like being sitted by the waitstaff serving station. Over all very good.

We have breakfast and it was fresh, local and crafted.
The place would get 5 stars but SEVICE was just a bit slow.

Went here with my mom for a nice brunch and had a fantastic meal served by a beautiful and kind waitress. What more can you ask for?

I love this place! The charm is just amazing here and you feel like you’re at your grandmas house for breakfast. It’s all newly redone and kept very clean it’s just so cozy! Next the staff. What sweethearts! They make you feel so welcome and just like family. I’ve never felt so welcomed at a restaurant. Next the food YUM is all I have to say. It’s soooo good and you can tell its homemade. Love love love it there and I can’t wait to go back!

We’ve had breakfast and lunch here at least one dozen times and have experienced consistenly great food and service.

I’ve been to Hummingbird House two times and both meals were fantastic. The staff is great and the food is even better. Get there in time for breakfast and try the pumpkin pancakes. Everything is made fresh… even the potato chips!

I attended a small party for a out of town family member at the hummingbird house and had a wonderful time. The get together was hosted in their upstairs private room that had lots of room. The staff was welcoming and the environment was adorable throughout the downstairs also. The host had pre ordered food which was laid out promptly and was very good. Over all I think the upstairs room would be a great place for a baby or bridal shower or even just a lunch meeting. I will definitely be going back just for breakfast some morning out on their patio!

I went to the hummingbird house one day when was hungry and I passed by it. It was a cute little house-​like settling and I was greeted right away. The workers were helpful and nice. The food was different and I would say a little above average. I have ordered from this place 2 times and dined in twice. All experiences were pretty positive. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place, but I would eat here again if I was in the area.

I thought this place was great! We sat outside for breakfast on Sunday morning and our waitress was so nice and attentive — good food, good recommendations — We got the stuffed french toast and the eggs benedict. Drinks in the mason jars are such a cute touch, I’ll def come back again when I’m in town, I am rooting for this place!
