The Greek salad here cannot be beat for miles!!! Maybe in Greece. Have been frequenting this Pizza Shop for years, maybe 30 years, through two owners. Has ALWAYS been best around, I like the veal parm sub as well. Chicken parm is also great. I don’t know why anyone would give one star??? I never think about«affordability» when I enter any Pizza Shop. In any case, we travel from next town over to this place. Wonderful staff, and great service. Thank you, Nicks!!!

30+ years ago this restaurant was the one place I could ride my bike to and get an awesome pizza or a burger that I just can’t find anymore, Angelo the owner was the best guy I knew, and his son and daughter were awesome as well, they new everyone in the neighborhood and treated them like family, I loved this place and would go all the time, my mom used to order the Greek salad all the time and she loved it ! Ive never had a bad meal here, and since I’ve move on I haven’t been in a long long time but I’m glad to see its still there.

When I lived in the area, I would come here at least once a week to get a greek salad with extra chicken. I would call and the«extra chicken» tipped them off as to who I was and when I went in to pick it up, they’d have it ready for me. I really like the way they grill the chicken compared to other places.

Great pizza and salads. Work nearby and come here every week. A little intimidating at first when they are yelling«NEXT» to you all the way at the back of the crowd But you can’t beat the food!

Pizza and greek salad. I’m always disappointed when it isn’t from Nicks. Crust is always crunchy, but not hard. Favorite of mine.

Two Words… Greek Salad. The best Greek dressing I have ever had! It’s amazing. I dip pretty much what ever I get from there in the stuff! Go there and you wont regret it!

I am beginning to think that there is not a decent affordable restaurant to grab a bite to eat in the entire Boston Metro area. All that I was looking for was a Meatball Parmesan. The«sauce» that Nick’s uses reminded me of bland tomato soup and poured over hard meatballs, thus creating a soggy and saturated roll. This was by far the worst Meatball sub that I have ever eaten. Due to the high margins pizza shops make, many people do not even try… Nick’s is no exception. It was $ 8+ and I gave the 2nd half to my dog. I am not lying when I say that. As an Italian, I was insulted by what this place tried to pass off as food. Being only a few blocks from my house, I would have eaten here every other day, but nope… I’ll drive right on by to the next place.

I placed a large order with Nicks pizza for 5 pizzas drinks and a Greek salad. They said they had a special going on for 3 pizzas for $ 18. I was shocked when the total for 5 pizzas and soda and salad came to $ 58. When I got the order, they sent me the wrong pizzas. They went back and brought me the right pizza. The pizza was ok. The veggie was good(by Greek style pizza standards). The I had high expectations for the Greek salad since it was a Greek place and the reviews were high in Unilocal. It was probably the worst Greek salad I have ever had! Furthermore, they charged me an additional $ 12 on my card without my authorization for I assume the pizza they were supposed to bring in the first place. I never signed for it and they never gave me a receipt. Apparently they charge whatever they want to whoever they want.

Two reasons why I wanted to try this place: they toast their subs by default and Greek style pizza. This place is very close to my work and so I wanted to try it. The first time I ordered from here, I ordered a chicken parm sub(through Foodler). I really enjoyed it. The only downside was that it seems to get pretty busy during lunch(which is expected, so I’m not leaving stars out for that). I am disappointed at what happened during my last trip here(today). I ordered the chicken parm(again) through Foodler. This time, to avoid the rush, I ordered it so that it could be picked up at 11:45AM. Yay, I beat the rush! Went back to work – traffic was picking up – returned to my desk, excited to bite into my sub. Only, it wasn’t my sub at all!!! It was a wrap with some sort of beef and other stuff in it! I don’t have time to go back and I know it’s going to be crazy there. Really enjoyed the chicken parm sub I had before and I’m sure the pizza is great, but I’m so disappointed in being given the wrong order I don’t think I will want to return. Note: At just about every restaurant I have ever eaten at, they always seem to mess up my food. And I don’t even order anything complicated. I’m sad. few things are worse than a bad food experience.

Exactly what one expects from a neighborhood sub place. Good food, good price, consistency in quality(been visiting for over 10 years) and fast service anytime during the day. Love all the steak subs.

The service is rude and the pizza worse, so sweet it should have been dessert.

I absolutely hate this place especially during busy lunch time. From the guy screaming at you and everyone else, to him throwing your food at you to the quality(there are two nice guys but the one jerk ruins it for the whole place). The only thing I ate here that was good was their pizza, though extremely greasy. I tried a chicken parm sub, I was greeted with massive amounts of huge onions in the sauce. I tried a buffalo chicken sub assuming to get chicken tenders with buffalo sauce, I got highly salted grilled chicken pieces with naturally salty buffalo sauce which almost gave me diabetes instantly. I only go here if there is absolutely no time to go anywhere else and I will grab just one slice to go(which is almost the cost of a whole small!!)

Yum! I work down the street and my colleagues and I are here at least once a week. I’ve never eaten their pizza, but I can highly recommended their Greek salad with chicken and their sub selection. This place is fast and convenient but I think my favorite part about coming here is the staff. They’re all super laid back and friendly. I especially love the older gentleman who rings everyone up. It’s a great place to grab some lunch and head back to the office.

i go for a slice when i am desperate. tonight the server warmed my slice and rubbed his nose on his hand. when i asked him about it, he turned to me and repeated the gesture. i asked for my two dollars back and he acted like all this was fine. i will never go back and i will report to the board of health. i hate to see a guy lose his job, but i have no idea who the owner is. bjs

Greek Grilled Chicken Salad — that’s all you need to know. It’s the best one I’ve ever eaten anywhere. The chicken has a perfect flavor. The feta has a perfect flavor. The dressing is orgasmic. I wish I lived closer.

i ordered a large cheese pizza and a large veggie pizza from nick’s last night. the veggie pizza had a ton of toppings, including olives, tomato slices, green peppers, and onions. it did get a bit soggy underneath the cheese and sauce, but the crust itself was pretty good. it came on time, was pretty inexpensive, and i would recommend for a quick pizza fix.

Just ordered a pizza and Greek salad. Pizza making is an art and honestly a frozen Digiorno pizza is better than the one delivered. The Greek Salad was ok. If you like mediocre this is the place for you.

I work right in the neighborhood, so this is walking distance, you can’t beat the location. Prices are a tad bit steep, especially for the type of food that they offer but alas… we are in Newton. The Greek Salad was something that I had heard about, and it did not disappoint! The dressing is home made(I’ve asked for the recipe and they just laugh at me), and absolutely what makes this salad. Getting the chicken on it is a great choice, and they always toss in on the grill fresh for you. It drives me nuts when I get ‘grilled’ chicken that’s cold on a salad. The Syrian bread that comes with it is a hit or miss… sometimes it’s like chewing tire rubber and dried out… other times it’s perfect. I guess it depends on what time of day you get there. What makes this place great is the guys that work there. They’re all weathered greasy pizza slingers, a few of them are actually Greek, thus the pizza style. But the fact that they knew my face, and made small talk even after only going in there 3 – 4 times made me smile. They’re not a 5 star restaurant but these guys really do give you a ‘hometown welcome’ kind of service that just keeps me going back. I do have to say as well, no matter how busy they are, I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for food. Which is a BIG plus when you’re swamped with work and starving! Love this place!

I used to go to Nick’s Pizza, home of the $ 4.99 small pizza, all the time back when I lived in Newton. Actually, I used to walk there because it was just down the hill from my house. Nick’s has a lot of competition in the Newton pizza area — with Newton Highlands Pizza, Four Corners Pizza, Sweet Tomatoes, Domino’s, and probably a few others that I’m forgetting — but it does have some appeal as a neighborhood pizza place. Compared to those other Newton spots, Nick’s probably comes in last in terms of the pizza, just below Newton Highlands Pizza, which has delicious chicken fingers on a sidenote. I’ve only gotten pizza from Nick’s, so I can only speak on that. But I remember really liking how cheesy the pizza was. If you are a lactard, Nick’s pizza is not for you(nor is any cheese pizza, but especially not Nick’s). The pizza is bready and thicker than many of the other Newton local spots. Overall, it’s decent! It’s not particularly good, but it is satisfying for what it is. The appeal of Nick’s for me was that the people at the register were always really nice, really recognized the customers and a lot of locals would hang out there as a result. It’s kind of dark and a little drab inside compared to the other spots, but it had an appeal all its own. Unfortunately, Nick’s never seemed to catch on with the high school crowd like the other big Newton pizza spots. Now with the 5÷5÷5 deal at Domino’s, the $ 4.99 small pizza from Nick’s that I used to buy with change is probably not as awesome.
