I order an old fashion at almost every restaurant I go into… Amber the bartender, made of of the best I have ever had. This was my first visit to the Biltmore but it will not be my last, I did not have the opportunity to experience their dining area but there is always next time

not sports fans but we lucked out and arrived to the biltmore just as the game ended. we sat comfortably at the bar and immediately received a friendly greeting. considering this was our first visit, we were already happy to be there. the dinner menu was full of tough choices but our server/bartender, amber, was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. she even offered us a taste of an unfamiliar beer without us having to ask for it. our food and drink was served in a timely manner and was delicious. *excellent fried pickles* amber made sure we were satisfied with our experience from start to finish. this lady is an asset to the establishment and we hope she will be there for us when we return.

0 stars if I could! We tried to go for trivia one night. As we walked past the front to the entrance, we noticed at least a few open tables. It was a little busy, but not to the point of waiting for a table. We stood in front of the host station for about 10 minutes before we were finally greeted. We said we there for trivia, but the hostess said they only have it in the first room. The first room is very small, and all the tables were all full. Not understanding why they can’t have trivia for the entire pub? Most places do it that way, and we’ve gone to at least a dozen pubs for trivia over the years. Anyway, we said that we would take one of the open tables in the other room then. We would just get food, and not do trivia. She apologized and said they didn’t have any open tables, also couldn’t offer what the wait time is. I then pointed out I saw a few tables open when we walked past 10 minutes ago. To that I got no response, and we unceremoniously walked out. As we walked past to leave, those same few tables were still open 15 – 20 minutes later.

A terrific upscale American place with live music on the weekends! Excellent draft selection including local brews and classic favorites. Their fare follows the recent trend of gastropubs seeking to move towards more creative and healthy takes on classic American favourites. Brussels sprouts with bacon as an appetizer? Yes please. We tried the burger and their version of a Thanksgiving sandwich and both were excellent. For dessert they were offering a smores-like cookie with whipped cream — an incredibly delicious oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and marshmallows. There were two big cookies and a nice dollop of whipped cream for $ 5 which I call quite the steal(although I would have served it with ice cream). The challenge with this place is the parking situation — always check out the metered spots in front as well as the tight parking lot in the back. The Saturday night we were there they had Beautiful Tuesday as the entertainment, which is always a terrific time!

Ambiance is great, pear nessecities drink is awesome but skip the food. Chicken and waffles looked like it had been fried twice. Was on the verge of being burned and was soooo dry. Ick. The waffles were limp. My friend ordered fish and chips also looked double fried. Were greasy. Dinner was overly expensive at $ 18 for the chicken and $ 17 for the fish. Could eat at legal seafood for that with much better food. Wont eat here again.

There is a TV show where a restaurateur helps transform struggling restaurants into something cool and good. The Biltmore feels like it was on that show a few years ago, and the practices that made it a struggling restaurant are all back. The website and reviews seemed good, but the first sign of alarm was the not particularly full dining room at 7 pm on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks, deviled eggs, and entrees which arrived in not the order you might expect. The 5 deviled egg halves arrived(I know math is hard, but 5??) and weren’t bad. Then my Moscow Mule arrived with my wife’s pomegranate splash. While the homemade ginger beer was very good, one uses a copper cup, not a daiquiri glass, for a Moscow Mule. My wife’s drink was bland. My margherita pizza, the only vegetarian entrée, arrived with my side of mac and cheese, and a few minutes later, my wife’s meatloaf with mashed potatoes and side of corn decided to join us. The pizza was serviceable, though the mac and cheese may have been from Kraft(though, who am I kidding, bad mac and cheese is good mac and cheese). My wife’s meatloaf was(to her) visually unappealing with a taste to match. The mashed potatoes were thin, and if you told her the corn had been frozen and in a bag 10 minutes earlier, it wouldn’t be a shock. While the service was quick(large swaths of empty dining room space make for a quiet kitchen) and the décor was fun, the Biltmore was a let down.

4 stars for AMAZING bar food. They have out of this world fried pickles and peppers with this dip! Heavenly. I also tried a feta cheese spinach dip which was amazing. Also Macaroni cheese balls! And their popcorn chicken all very yummy with great sauces. The service is not that great, with the exception of one really nice male bartender I wish I caught his name. He let me and my girlfriend split a glass of wine into two glasses since we didn’t want to have a full glass. I found the accommodation very nice.

The Biltmore is a fantastic hidden gem in Newton! The food is top notch, high quality and delicious as well as innovative. The staff is always helpful and there’s always something new to try on the menu. Live music on Fridays make it a very warm, energetic environment. Definitely a fun place to try if you haven’t been yet!

High priced yuppie bar, pub grub. Just so so. Many other places to go with more Parkin.

Pros: atmosphere was good. The bar had quick service(we waited there for our table). The Downeaster Pumpkin Cider was great. The drinks were strong. The Biltmore burger was good. The California wrap was good. Cons: Service at the table wasn’t great. We waited a while for our first round of drinks and only half of us got water glasses. The baja fish tacos had too many ingredients in them that didn’t seem to go together. Onion rings were under cooked. At the end of the meal, the table was cleared very quickly and we heard the wait staff talking amongst themselves about whether or not we would leave soon.

A little expensive, but really good food and drinks. I like that the tables are painted with chalkboard paint so you can draw on them and have fun, even as an adult. The fried fluffernutter for dessert was awesome, but I highly recommend splitting it with several people. The only thing that was a little weird was that we kept having food delivered to our table that didn’t belong to us. My favorite thing about this place is the ginger beer. I’m on a hunt for the perfect ginger beer, and this might be it. They make it themselves and it makes a great Moscow Mule. It’s super spicy, so if you don’t enjoy a little mouth burn, it may not be for you. Unfortunately they can’t sell it retail because it has bitters in it.

We tried to eat here today at about 1 pm on a Sunday. When we walked in the music was so loud that it was deafening. And I like LOUD music. We asked to be seated away from the bar area and were promptly accommodated. I must say, though, that the hostess was pretty sullen. When the menu arrived I was really underwhelmed. I had actually come for the poutin which our zombie waitress acted like she had never heard of. The selections were very typical pub fare — nothing really original. Too much bacon and cheese, And cheese and bacon. We asked when the brunch menu was over and were told 3pm. So we left. As we were leaving I mentioned to the gentleman at the front that we were disappointed and were leaving without ordering. He kindly offered to see if he could get a manager. At that point we were stressed and hungry and just wanted to leave. The sullen hostess made no eye contact and said«bye» in a pretty apathetic voice. We will not be going back. Way too noisy and uninspiring menu.

My wife and went there twice over the past few weeks; one sat at the bar, another in the dining room. Burgers are really tasty and well done. You can tell it is fresh, good quality meat. Fries were a bit soggy, but onion rings were super. Our servers on both occasions were really attentive and excellent! While at the bar, I debated getting the app deviled eggs, but chose not to. A few minutes later they showed up… comped. Very nice touch! A very solid neighborhood joint.

Disappointing. I had heard they had great food, cool place, good music. What I experienced was ok food overall. some things were great and some things terrible. Good was the burgers, pulled pork sandwich, fried pickles, brisket nachos, hog shanks. All tasty, meaty, and filling. Not so good was the mexican minestrone(not much flavor and very tomato flavored); the gazpacho(tasted like salsa); the«loaded» fries(virtually no bacon, and only gravy and cheese on half the fries). The sausage flatbread was really small but had lots of sausage on it, which was nice. Music wasn’t that great the Friday night we were there(this past Friday). I know of other people that played there and there were way above the caliber we saw. Service was really not very good, especially since they weren’t that crowded.(Half our group came early and ate in the dining room and when the others came, we all went to the bar room, so I am reporting on both experiences… both were disappointing.) While the server was nice enough, they weren’t very attentive and we almost had to go find them to get anything. We saw the one just sitting at a bar table hanging out, not paying much attention. This was a big reason for the 3 rating. If better service, would have probably been a 4, even with some food not so good.

Service was the worst. Never go there if you are in a rush. Lunch took 1 hour and 45 minutes. Ordered Waffles and Chicken. Chicken was OK, slightly overcooked. Waffle was inedible.

Situated on a rather busy little intersection not far from the mass pike, this not so little neighborhood pub manages to seem cozy and reminiscent of times gone by. Inside there central bar is a horseshoe shape using deep toned wood and a few high tops scattered to the front and side. Off to the right is a large dining area while off to the left is a an alley that has been converted into an outdoor seating area. The menu is simple, to the point and lists several appetizers, salads, entrees and sandwiches ranging in price from $ 6 — $ 20. Appetizers run from Pub fries($ 9) topped with cheese cheddar cheese, gravy and chives to BBQ chicken($ 8) wings in a fiery BBQ glaze to a grilled shrimp Cobb salad($ 12). Entrees offer a range of comfort foods — brick chicken to steak to pot roast to pappardelle pasta. This visit include the aforementioned chicken wings. They are fried then grilled to bring out a nice char while preserving a juicy, plump chicken nugget. Tossed in a spicy bbq sauce, these wings are worth sampling. The biltmore burger($ 13) is listed as cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, grilled onions and bistro sauce. This custom blended beef patty arrives with streams of melting cheddar cheese hanging of the sides. The traditional flour bun is toasted ever so slightly and holds the massive beef patty and toppings perfectly. The meet is prepared exactly medium rare. A bite reveals juices that flow freely and an almost fluffy texture to the extremely beefy patty. The juices are captured entirely by the bun and the toppings stay enmeshed in the sandwich as well. Grilled red onions add a sweet crunch and the bacon is crispy but not overwhelming and adds smokiness to the entire burger. The bistro sauce is applied liberally but is not overpowering: it seems to be a mayo, ketchup Worcestershire sauce blend and adds another layer of flavor that is noticeable but enhances the over all experience. Flowing cheddar cheese literally drips down into the center of the burger with each bite. Seasoned with a good amount of salt and pepper, this is one burger for the books. Accompanying the burger can be fries, soup or salad. This behemoth was accompanied by a chopped green salad tossed with blue cheese on request. Fresh feeen, tomatoes. Simple and executed well. The kale salad($ 10) with added salmon($ 8) arrives in a deep bowl with fresh a bacon vinaigrette, goat cheese and apple shreds. The salmon is a large fillet pan crisped and tender. Fresh kale is crisp and the cheese helps create a complex flavor sensation when the bacon vinaigrette is tossed in. Extremely cheerful service and a cool vibe make this a place to check out.

We really just needed some place to eat lunch before we went into the city and this seemed like the best option… and it was! The staff there was so nice and accommodating! We asked them for help getting around the city and parking(which is a nightmare) and they did their best to help us. Who says bostonians are mean? Anyway, the food! The cali wrap was… okay. It was just okay, nothing to come back for. If anything I’d order something else. The brussels and chorizo were good but something that I could make(and did make). yum.

My go-to meal at the Biltmore is their house burger and a side of their fried pickles. Absolutely delicious. Love sitting out on the patio during the summer but the interior is so cozy that its more than enjoyable throughout the winter as well. Helpful/friendly staff. Great selection of beers.

So stopped in for the first time recently on a co-workers recommendation and just had 3 prerequisites: –a decent beer selection –a good burger –a good spot to catch some World Cup group stage games Biltmore went above and beyond for all three. Great local draft selection(ended going with a few Shed’s), a good number of flat screens positioned above and around the edge of the bar and the Biltmore burger was just the tits, fat olé’ patty, tons of gooey cheddar, apple-wood smoked bacon and a special sauce. Staff was great and my waiter was johnny on the spot with beer refills. Would definitely want to try them out for lunch or to catch another game after work.
