Had worst sold experience here. They ask for everything from big designers. But they sell it whatever they want. Ridiculous cheap. However, I don’t see anything tags cheap in the store. So, here is the question: how come my stuff sold so funny cheap? Where did my thing really go?

I love this store. The people there are helpful, the merchandise is top class, and the prices are fair. This is by far the best consignment shop I have EVER seen(in the US as well as in Europe). I suggest they change their name to «The Finest Consigner» !!

Overpriced. Incredibly rude salespeople. Don’t go here, there are 2 other consignment shops in newton center alone with better deals and nicer staff.

The owner is amazingly knowledgeable and her shop is a treasure trove. Great prices. Great pieces. Great fun.

This is where you go to find designer(real designer — Chanel, Gucci, Versace, etc) items for special occasions and for work. This is well edited, contemporary clothing — not vintage. The prices are accordingly high but everything is in pristine condition. The best place to look is the sales racks — I bought a STUNNING pair of Manolo Blahnik spectators for $ 40 on sale and a $ 20 pair of Alexander McQueen black capris. The only reason this gets 3 instead of 5 stars(and it is a big reason) is because the sales people are miserable. You know the scene in Pretty Women where Julia Roberts gets rejected from a fancy store by the snotty sales women. These are those women. If you don’t look like them, they are not going to give you the time of day. With that said, I still go here because the clothing is THAT beautiful.

Overpriced. Staff is snooty and makes you feel uncomfortable if you are not well-dressed and well-off. On the plus side, they do have some lovely things, and some great deals can be scored on the $ 10 rack. I just wish the non-sale items were actually a decent value, which is what I look for in consignment.

I stopped at Finer Consigner on my way to a dinner as I had forgotten my jewelry and sweater when I packed in the morning. I was literally just driving through Newton Center and stopped at an open parking spot outside the store(which I had never heard of). Amy was great. She found the perfect piece of costume jewelry and a dressy sweater for my outfit, found a lint roller for my(faulty) shawl and sent me on my way! I’ll definitely return.

I will never go here ever again. I was excited to get some clothes for my upcoming trip to Las Vegas. I walked in and saw some racks of nice clothes(including a $ 10 rack). As I was browsing, several other people came in and were attended to and I was completely ignored. I walked around the place and tried stuff on for half an hour and was not assisted once. The ladies went out of their way to help other people, but not me. My advice– skip this place. It’s not even that nice. Head over to Needham to the Closet Exchange. See my review for them!

The Finer Consigner is one of my treasured places for luxury, unique and beautiful clothes — at a fraction of their original prices. I’ve found the staff and the owner to be friendly, helpful and honest. I know that I can rely on The Finer Consigner to have something interesting every time I visit. If you are looking for great clothes, great service and reasonable prices, this is the place.

I went to this ‘place’ to learn more about the process of selling a few beautiful, barely used(and expensive, I might add) Kate Spade bags. After waiting for about 10 minutes to be helped(even folks who walked in after me were helped more quickly, maybe because they were dressed up and ‘looked rich’), I was finally given poor service. Forgive me for not fully understanding what ‘consignment’ means and how the process works, but I do not think it necessary to be glared at, sighed at, and told(verbatim) ‘You obviously have no clue, and really, we do not take Kate Spade so you should just leave.‘ Wow. I was mortified. Further, as I was leaving, I saw her roll her eyes at me and giggle to another customer. I realize that this is just one person, so I cannot generalize about the rest of the staff, but I will never never never go there again.

The saleswomen can be inconsistent in their customer service — some are gracious and helpful, several are tough and unfriendly personalities. That being said, the quality of their bags is great and they do have some great stuff. The discounts can be huge here, so despite«the ladies» you can find something great!

I was really disappointed. I read several bad reviews but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The staff is rude and entitled and the consignment minimum is too high. They actually told me to go home, find more things and come back. I had 4 items by Chanel & Gucci that were in really good shape but they gave me nothing but grief from the moment I walked in the door(actually, not the moment — I had to wait for them to finish bickering about the work schedule before they even acknowledged me). I understand that social skills are foreign concepts to some people, but when you own a business, you should probably make some kind of effort to be courteous to those who will spend money and contribute to your success. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else.

I like the clothes but can’t stand the«ladies» who work there except for one who works on mondays(the monday girl). They are so unfriendly, act like they are doing you a favor to ring you up or answer questions, and are petty and gossipy while chatting with their friends. Oh, I should point out if you are one of their friends, the service is entirely different. But I have been in there a dozen times and spent lots of money and they still treat me like an undesirable.

Just found the place and scored on some really cute and DIFFERENT tank tops etc for Key West visit after I found nothing in the chain stores. Also scored on some 7 corduroys on ½ off sale(38 dollars!) I found the folks incredibly helpful even on a busy Saturday. They helped me put together the looks and break out of my conservative look. Go on Saturdays as the non-owner who works there only on Saturday will help you play dress up and is honest about how you look. DAMMIT why didn’t that Burberry sweater fit me! High quality stuff hand bags and shoes are really great!

Contrary to the previous reviews, I found the people at the story extremely helpful and nice. They found me a great pair of theory pants which they generously marked down from 88 – 68 dollars. Even 88 would have been a bargain. Yes, they certainly keep the prices high, but that is because they only sell high quality stuff. If you like vintage clothes/designer brands and don’t want to pay full price this is the place. For a more blast from the past and cheaper version try«Café Society in Brookline».

The store is pretty small but they have a lot of good stuff. Best of Boston certainly likes them enough– I’m pretty sure its just best of boston west though, not for the whole thing. They do consignment well here but The Closet on Newbury Street is still my favortie. The people who work here are very aloof. The accessories are my favorite part– lots of Chanel, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton… the works. GREATFOR: bags, costume jewelry, shoes.
