I unfortunately led my family here after reading the great reviews on Unilocal. This is a tiny, extremely dirty beach. We didn’t even dare go in the water, it just looked gross. Maybe we’re just spoiled on Long Island, but this was not a good beach. $ 25 to park, very small strip of sand, and almost black water.

Hole in the Wall Beach — Niantic, CT — 7÷1÷2015 This is a great beach. Small, local and intimate. It caters largely to a local crowd but there are also many out of towners that come here as Niantic’s population just about doubles during Summer Season. I love it when I hear the bell of the Ice Cream Truck. I’ve been eating Choco-Malts since my yout! Kinda cool how you have to walk thru a tunnel before getting to the beach. Last years hurricane did a lot of damage and they’ve been working on repairing the damage. It’s just about finished. It’s a quiet beach where you can just lay out and relax. I love the fact that you don’t have to listen to other people’s radios and this town is generally a real friendly town and very family oriented.

A nice quiet beach that only the locals know about. Since there are no tourists, there are rarely the screaming kids and loud music like you get at the more popular beaches. There are two beaches separated by a small park. The park has a small place for kids to climb and play, and an area with benches and tables so you can have quiet time after work. There is even a boardwalk, so you can relax after a hard day.
