Illiano’s Grill

This is my go to place for lunch sometimes five days a week. Everyone wants to be the one to pick up lunch because you get a free mini slice of pizza while you wait. It’s a treat when you are starving for lunch. The Italian Gorgonzola salad is great and feeds two. That with a slice is my comfort food. The staff is the best, engaging and knowing who you are and what you like. It shows how much the owners care. Everyone is happy and you don’t see staff turnover. Oh, and yes delicious.

Pretty standard pizza, a little pricey for the quality, but great service.
We arrived ten minutes before closing, starving and still were invited to sit and eat. We rushed to have a few slices then pack the rest to leave, but we never were pressured to do so by the staff, it was our choice.
The pizza itself was pretty standard middle American pizza, but priced more towards the high. ($ 20 two toppings)
Straight up white flour crust, no tooth, no chewiness, but I did enjoy that it was soft and easy to chew in a cheat day junk food way. Def more on the «white» side, no wheat flour mixed in at all. Spinach was frozen not fresh, bacon was a little thin and sparse, (I’m spoiled by the bacon I get at my local joint, thick, crisp, flavorful). Over all a little bland overall and not much flavor on the red sauce… I found myself adding lots of stuff to the pizza, like garlic powder, to get flavor.
Little sample pieces of taco pizza were brought to the table. So yummy. Spicy flavorful taco ground beef with salsa and mixed cheeses. I wish we had ordered that. I also noticed a lot of other customers say they like the specialty pizzas here, and maybe that’s their niche.
Would try them again, but for a few mixed specialty slices, not a standard red pie.

I love to stop and grab a slice or two at Illiano’s in Niantic. They have a wide variety of individual slices from plain to taco to chicken florentine. The staff is always quick and courteous with a sample to munch on while you wait. I have eaten in and had their pasta and the tortellini is fantastic. Great time to eat in or to go!

My favorite pizza in the world! I usually get plain cheese, but their specialty pizzas (buffalo chicken, taco, baked potato, mhhh) are fantastic as well. Always cooked just right. They also make the best Greek salad, loaded with get and olives. Their house vinaigrette is my favorite dressing, ever. Occasionally I dine in and order something different. I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve been coming to this location for 15+ years with no end in sight. :) I’m always greeted and treated well by the staff, especially the woman with straight, dark hair and freckles who is always there. I love this place and I hope they never change!

Hit or miss. The food is usually really good. Sometimes there is a long wait. Not all servers care about the customers, but they do get the food out.
The buffalo chicken pizza is awesome and they have a good variety of slices available.

Every time I’m asked of my favorite pizza, I say Illiano’s. It’s always been my favorite, especially the pepperoni. It made for many great evenings with my friends on Saturday nights. I also like their garlic knots.

Nice waitress. We both had the meatball and ricotta cheese pizza. Mushy and tasteless.

Good pizza and other food. But don’t expect NY style pizza! but pretty decent and I have heard others saying they love it. You will not be disappointed and may actually like it.

Rude. Rude. Rude. Bad service. Waitress ignored my friend who was sitting across from me when she took our drink order. Then she asked if he was mute because he didn’t speak up. Never again. I’ll take the drive to Norwich next time. I would give this negative stars if I could.

Pizza is fine, but their move to only selling large pizzas is absurd and reeks of desperation. I’ve never even heard of a pizza place that only has large pizzas. If I’m going to be forced to spend over 18 bucks on a pizza with toppings then I’m always going to pizza cucina down the street or drive the 20 minutes to pepe’s at mohegan.

Eat an entire huge large pizza and I like the variety instead of many slices of the same kind.
There’s 3 other Ilianos franchises in the area and they all create Tasty artisan pizza that is heads above the other pizzerias in the area.. This one has sweet nice really helpful ladies working the counter. A nice touch is they give you a free small slice taste as soon as you step up to the counter.
Today had a slice of veggie, meatball ricotta, and straight up cheese. They warm them up in the oven for s couple minutes before boxing them up for you.
You can also ask for a side if blue cheese or ranch or some kind salad dressing as a dipping sauce and they toss it in the box for you.
Slices were hot fresh and delicious as usual.
Total cost $ 10.00 — not bad

I’ve been to this restaurant numerous times usually for pizza. They have an assortment of house specialties as well as slices to go. Today I ordered the Southwest Grilled Chicken salad. The waitstaff was pleasant and brought out my salad with in 10 minutes of ordering it. Visually it was very appealing, Flavors were great. My only negative was the salad had those white center stalks of the salad. Maybe next time I’ll order it with mesclun mix.

What a great spot! We sit down and are given pizza samples immediately, prompt service, delicious pizza, just a great place immediately off of I-​95 to help break up a NYC-​BOS road trip!

I have eaten at Illiano’s several times, so I am remiss in writing a review. Last night’s dinner was truly exceptional though. My friend and I ate in their full service dining room. First, the waitress was exceptional. She provided great service, she made us feel like we were family, and she was funny and engaging. Illiano’s always serves a couple of slices of their pizza and nice warm rolls as soon as you sit down. They have a bottle of delicious olive oil on the table, which I prefer to butter for my bread.
Our meals were fantastic. I had an appetizer of clams and mussels in marinara sauce. This was no ordinary marinara sauce. This sauce contained high quality tomatoes, plenty of garlic and all of the flavors of the seafood. It was a generous portion, large enough for an entrée. The rolls on the table were handy for sopping up the flavorful sauce. I ordered the summer salad for dinner, which contained baby spinach, dried cranberries, candied walnuts and a generous amount of gorganzola. It was so big that I could only eat ¹⁄₃ of it. If you love gorganzola, definitely order this salad. My friend ordered pasta bolognese which he said was terrific, with plenty of meat and a slow cooked sauce that has deep flavors. It was much more than he could eat, also.
This restaurant has great food, generous portions and great service. Of course, I will be back.

This is just plain old good food. Illiano’s is not going to overwhelm you with fancy ambiance or worldly, wine expert servers… this is a family restaurant that is clean, well run and in the finest tradition of the Italian culture… will leave you walking out with your pants button open and extra food to take home.

Just had the Mussels Fiore and it was delicious. Big portions and reasonable prices are two of my favorite things. Love this place.

Other locations were better. Service was mediocre, at best. Good food and large portions. Priced well. Still a lot of great competition in the area! They need to step up the service.

Portions are HUGE. You will not leave this place hungry. The food was good but nothing out of this world. They did serve samples of pizza as an appetizer which I thought was pretty neat. Service was great and staff were friendly. Overall, a good dining experience.

Had seafood pasta, which was excellent! I would like to see a better quality mussel like PEI’s to complement the local seafood.

Illianos 9÷2÷2013
So there were were in the parking lot of «another» restaurant reading the latest bad review of that restaurant when I started the car and drove down the street to Illianos. We were greeted promptly and seated.
Illianos serves slices of Pizza as a free appetizer. So good was that appetizer that we decided right then and there to have Pizza as our meal. Pepperoni, mushroom and roasted red pepper was the flavor of the day. It was delicious!
We have been to their sister store which has been equally good. We highly recommend Illianos for their great service and excellent food and will definitely go back!
