Was on the verge of buying a bike online, but extremely glad I went to Inertia instead. I liked their reviews better than the other local bike shops, so I thought I’d give them a call. I spoke to Chris on the phone and he was genuinely helpful, highly knowledgeable and humble. Based on that phone call I felt quite confident visiting the shop in person. I met Chris at the shop. As I explained my needs, he showed me the options best suited to my situation without trying to upsell anything, even though he easily could of easily done so without me knowing the difference. He spoke with me for 40+ minutes, patiently walking me through my options and explaining different things to me. He offered to let me test drive 2 bikes to make sure I got the right size. In the end, I purchased the Trek 7.1FX hybrid bike and spent less than I originally intended. I initially wanted a road bike and would of ended up spending a lot more money, but based on Chris’s advice it was quite apparent to me that a true road bike would be impractical for my circumstances. He did a check on the bike to make sure everything was in good working order. He gave me a whole host of practical advice. I got 10% off accessories plus you get a year of free service with the bike which is an amazing deal. He even walked me to my car to show me how to properly release the front brakes and remove the front tire so that I could fit it into my Honda Civic. Thinking about it now, it would of been a HUGE mistake to order online as I wouldn’t of gotten any of the service and valuable advice that I got from Inertia. Not once did I feel pressured or swindled into buying something I didn’t want or was too expensive. Chris’s goal was getting something that I was happy with and suited my needs within my budget. He worked with me with class, humility and patience. If you’re on the fence about going to Inertia, stop doubting and give them a call.

Despite having a local bike shop, I travel 30 minutes to Niles just to use Inertia Cycle Works. Chris the owner is GREAT and the staff is always very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I trust them with every single bolt on my bike hands down! They have never failed me and never looked down on me even when I had my old cheap internet bike. They are the type of business and people that keep me excited about cycling.
