Traveler’s Inn of Niles

The place was ok for a. nights lodging. The manager was accomadating with a problem. Can’t expect the Ritz with this type of place. you just deal with it when you are in need.

Not recommended. Room stinks of cigarettes despite «non-​smoking» request. No AC control. Room is very small. Poorly lit parking area, scary metal staircase to get up to the room, and a barking dog in one of the rooms with the door propped open. Sheets do not appear to be clean. WiFi didn’t work. Would not have stayed except we couldn’t find any other availability in the area, and we were very tired from a long day of traveling. Could not wait to get out in the morning.

I don’t think I can recommend this motel. While I did stay there one night, and it wasn’t horrible, to me it was just on this side of scary. Not sure about who was in the other rooms (are we ever when we stay at a motel), but I just didn’t feel comfortable about something. Perhaps is was the poor lighting in the parking lot. Not really sure, but not someplace I’d stay again.
One problem I did have with the whole facility was the fact that there were no room controls for the temperature. Seems the heating — and presuming the cooling — is all controlled from the office and all the rooms are on a single temp. That being the case, the heat was roaring in the office, and it was very warm in the room with no way to cool it down. Gee, I thought central heating went out in the 19^th century.
Anyway, didn’t see any bugs, the room was okay, but no electricity to plug in laptop without moving furniture around. Did have free Wifi. I think I’ll pass on this place next time I’m in town. You’ll probably want to spend a few bucks extra and stay someplace a bit more upscale.

Pay the extra money and go to Morton Grove!

I agree with George that Niles Health department should look in to this place.

Do NOT stay here. It is digusting. Stains everywhere. Filthy. Smelly. We booked it on Expedia where it was advertised on par with Comfort Inn. It is NOT. We left and the owner wouldn’t give us our money back.
I agree with Sharon. The BBB needs to know about this place.

Omgross! Dried urine on the floor, pillows full of human hair! Prostitutes outside. Disgusting! I wanted to leave but the owner (asshole) refused and offered another room, this one had poo in the toilet! I was finished! I never got my money back and I will contact BBB AND health department… Don’t go here! 1 star is generous…

Traveler’s Inn is your average motel and yet it stands out in a few aspects. I stayed here for one night and the stay was pleasant and comfortable over all minus the issue with the air conditioning. I made the reservations online and got a room for half of what they were asking at the front desk.
The room and bathroom was very clean and it comes stocked with a queen bed, a mini fridge, a microwave, an iron board and an iron for some crisp clothes in the a.m.
However, a BIG BIG downside was the air conditioning. When we checked into the room the A/​C was not working and I called the front desk to find out whats going on and they said «since the weekend is going to bed cold, we are not turning on the A/​C» and then I got super angry over the phone and the guy blamed the issue on «timers on the A/​C and that it would not kick in till Monday» AKA BS to not turn on the A/​C. I guess the guys who work there don’t understand that the rooms when closed tends to be extremely HOTTT !!!
On a side note they do have a lounge thats open till 4a. m and free wifi which is super fast.
pros: clean room + bathroom + cheap price (if you book online) + free fast wifi
cons: management’s refusal to turn on A/​C on a hot day… definitely could be a deal breaker ! (lack of AC results in 2 stars)
