Ortuno Victor, MD

After coming here for a while now, I have to say the staff and scheduling makes this experience less than stellar. While Dr. Ortuno is a sweet and personable Pediatrician, his staff is such a non-​fit with his style. They seem indifferent, or overworked, don’t care, and not all that concerned with doing any kind of good job at what they chose to do for jobs. Scheduling is a nightmare (which in fairness is likely in large part Dr. Ortunos fault too). The schedule is only open for a select short window of opportunity and they absolutely do not care what the situation is, they will not even entertain the idea or discussion of appointments outside of that very small window. Also have problems every year with scheduling annual checkups. Growing tired of dealing with them.

Totally unprofessional. Their poor excuse for an office manager «Dama.» Obviously has not been trained in office protocol. Filing a grievance with the insurance company for these inappropropriate actions and attitude.

I’m switching to a different pediatrician after being at my wits end with trying to get a hold of the office. My son has been going here for 2 years and Dr. Ortuno himself is great, the scheduling process and no one ever returning your call is AWFUL. Their voicemail says give us 24 – 48 hours to call you back, which 1. NEVER happens and 2. if your child is really ill or you have some major concerns you don’t get to talk to anyone that day or lets face it, ever. The scheduling of appointments is also a nightmare, they open the book on the 15^th of the month and if you don’t call within a couple days of that your totally screwed for 2 months trying to get an appointment because it fills up so fast, the whole thing is very frustrating and stressful. It’s shame because we really liked Dr. Ortuno, I just can’t take the rest of the BS anymore.

Absolutely love this Doctor and Staff! They give my daughter lot’s of TLC. They are very caring :-) … They come in and talk to my baby and make her laugh all the time. Whenever they have to give her her immunizations they try to take her attention away from the needle and they do it very quickly. I wouldn’t change the Doctor for anything! Thank you for being so awesome!!!

The doctor and the staff are all really nice and friendly. The new building they moved to on Main is clean and beautiful although the exam room, where we were waiting about 20 minutes, was kind of plain (would have been nice to have toys/​books/​posters in the exam rooms). I liked how, at the end of the well child checkup, I was sent home with a handout of helpful information for my child’s age on relevant nutrition, development, behavior control, etc.
However, the hours at the clinic are very inconvenient. They are closed for an hour or so for lunch and are closed on Friday. I was supposed to drop off a urine sample an hour after my child’s appointment but no one was there for me to give it to. And there wasn’t a physician on call after hours that I could even talk to when my child suddenly got ill.

Dr. Ortuno ***** 5 out of 5 stars! His front desk staff is horrible though. Extremely RUDE in person and especially over the phone. Also, since Dr. Ortuno is such a good ped, he is always booked and it is very hard to get a same day or next day appointment. I would much rather take my son to his pediatrician than to Urgent Care!

Awesome pediatrician! He is very personable and encourages questions. We are very happy to have him care for our kids.
