Best fried chicken I have ever tasted and I was born in Alabama, raised here in Ga. It is delicious! There used to be a KFC next door but they went out of business, I think I know why! Campero beans are a must try too

Baked Chicken was really great. Food was fresh and not over cooked. The prices were not expensive. Great customer service.

Best fast food in Norcross. I went for the first time today with my girlfriend for a quick lunch. At the counter we were asking about the menu items because we had never been there before. The manager gave us each a fried chicken leg and a piece of yuca to sample. We decided on the grilled chicken combos. She informed us that it will take about 15 minutes because it was on the grill. While we were waiting at our table they brought us free: plantains, rice, coleslaw, 2 empanadas and an assortment of specialty drinks! The employe said because it was our first time, that we should sample various menu items while we wait. We were practically full before our food even arrived. The grilled chicken and sides were fantastic. The service was exceptionally friendly and thorough. I never had such a good experience at a fast food restaurant.

Fried chicken here is awesome. Crispy on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside. My fam loved it. This franchise is consistent with their recipes as well because the food was just like in the DC location.

Since Church’s chicken changed their recipe for their greasy, cheap chicken, we had to look for other alternatives. Popeye’s is good but pricey. We settled down for Pollo Campero. So why do I care for greasy, cheap chicken? It’s to feed the entire hungry family. Every now and then, I’m broke or don’t have time to cook so gotta find some fried chicken. Since half of Jimmy Carter is the Latino joint, thought would try some Pollo Campero. I bought the 20 pieces of dark meat for $ 19.99 — the family prefers dark meat anyways. I added on two side orders — campero rice & mash potatoes/gravy. Service was quick, went home and ate the chicken. Not bad. Honestly, it’s not as flavorful as I would like but what should I expect? This is greasy, cheap chicken. Hubby, however, looooooooved it. He wants to go get more again. I really liked the campero rice, which had the right amount of spices. The mash potato/gravy was good too. So when we’re hungry or broke, we will come back!

Staff was super friendly, especially the manager on duty. He seemed to really enjoy interacting with his customers. A couple came in who looked nervous and unsure of what to order. After standing in line for a minute or two, they were about to head back out without food. He caught them before leaving and coaxed them back inside, offering samples and an explanation of the menu. The food was good. Not the most amazing fried chicken I’ve ever had, but definitely a great fast food meal. I would take Pollo Campero over McDonald’s or any of the other burger joints any day. The fried chicken definitely has a different flair than the usual southern style, and the batter used to coat the chicken tasted slightly sweet to me. I had a combo(two chicken legs and a thigh) with yucca fries and a Jamaica drink(hibiscus tea). My husband also had a chicken combo, with a side of beans instead of yucca. The beans were great. I liked the yucca fries, but next time I’m getting the beans. They offered a variety of salsas and fixins for your meal(jalapenos, etc). I especially liked the spicy green tomatillo salsa. I’m a sucker for green salsa in general, though! Pollo Campero serves good fast food, but the super friendly staff is what truly makes them shine.

I don’t understand what all the hype about this place is, but I was NOT impressed. we had no idea what to even order(this was before I started using Unilocal btw), so what better way to order than the special combo meal? it was a special that was running at the time and it came with like 3 pieces of chicken + 2 sides; no drink. they let us mix up the chicken with some fried and some grilled since it was our first time. service was decent and food was cheap. now, I’ve heard great things about how the chicken here is seasoned very well. I was excited to get home and chow down, but the only taste I got from the chicken was lemon/lime. what a disappointment. there was a lack of latin spices & seasoning. if I wanted lemon/lime chicken, then I would of just went to kfc that was next door and squeeze some lemon/lime from home on it. the side we got was french fries. that was dumb of us, but we really didn’t kno what to get at the time. wish we could have tried their yucca fries though. not sure if i’ll be back to try ‘em out again. but if I do, I’ll be sure to order more«authentic» meals. or sides.

Fast food fried chicken doesn’t get much better than this. Full-flavored seasoning, crisp skin, succulent and juicy without being greasy, never dry, excellent. Just TRY to resist eating the skin. Sides are basic and traditional, so kinda bland, but go well with the chicken, and for me its all about the chicken. The grilled is also delicious, but I’m partial to the fried. They have a nice chipotle-flavored red salsa, a spicy green tomatillo salsa, and fresh pico de gallo, all great tasting, wish they had more, like the thicker salsas. Service has always been super friendly and helpful with the menu. Food is to your table quick, even when they’re busy. Price is a bit more than Church’s or Popeye’s, but well worth it.

Friendly service-they even asked if I had been there before and, since I hadn’t, offered samples. The chicken is very delish, but the sides are bland and the servings are super-small. If I want super-small servings I’ll at least go to Popeye’s where they at least have some flavor. The prices are high and you’re mostly paying for the huge, sweet, fruity drink that comes with combos. The chicken is the best there is in fast food, but without much else to recommend it, I haven’t been tempted to go back.

I gave Pollo Campero 5 stars because this is how a fast food chain can be as good as it gets. This is a fast food chain, with fast food prices but with a restaurant feel. A typical meal with a drink included is around $ 6.00. Food is served to your table in white plates and you use actual silverware. No need to leave a tip since it is a fast food restaurant. I tried the grilled chicken, yuca frita, and the campero beans and I was VERY happy. My kids ordered the kids meal(1 fried drumstick with fries) and had«flan» for dessert which was pretty good. I am planning to visit them soon. The chicken is soooo good.

This is a fast food restaurant but it’s not your typical fast food restaurant at all! The service was fast and friendly without the typical fast food attitude and general disarray. When you order you are given a sign with a number and then you can go to your seat, they actually bring the food to you. They use actual plates, okay plastic, but real plates and clear the table when you’re finished. The place was pretty busy but the food came out quickly and it stayed busy the whole time we were there. We had the chicken strips with fries. The chicken was tender, juicy, not greasy and the fries were just right not blazing hot and they weren’t greasy either. While I was eating one of the ladies who was working asked if this was my first time eating there, okay I stood out as I was the only non-Hispanic in the restaurant at that time(a few others came and went later). I told her yes and she asked if I had tried the grilled chicken I told her I had not and she brought out a sample. Nice touch. I believe this chain originated in Guatemala(not sure though) and there are others throughout the US. I’d recommend this one for sure. Check it out~
