Lovely property with beautiful architecture. The stone wall-sized fireplace in the sitting room was mesmerizing. Wine available at no charge, books galore… what a great place to sit and relax! Breakfast was delicious, we had the 2-room 3rd floor suite(1 double bed and 2 twins) plus private shower/bath. Managers of the property are informative, warm and friendly.

Spent the weekend in Norfolk… and had a blast. First, this town is expensive. It’s a vacation spot and it’s beautiful. There’s not a whole lot to do other than enjoy music, the beautiful scenery, the nice people and pretty good food. Rick and Shelia are the managers of this B&B and they were awesome. I had called a few days before and spoke with Shelia about a possible room upgrade. We had Le Chambre and I wanted anything nicer and bigger to treat my wife to. It wasn’t too small but it needed a chair in the room. I was mislead by one of the pictures for it. It looked like you could sit in a nook near a window(but that was in the hallway right outside the room). There was a room on the 3rd floor but I opted against it. When we arrived, we were satisfied with the room but it wasn’t anything special for the price… but it did just fine. I went out to take pictures of the house and when in the hallway I noticed a door to another room open. Just as Rick was coming out of showing other guests to their room he said«you can go in and look, it’s the master bedroom.» I did, it was very nice. I responded with«If you have any cancellations, let me know»(knowing that the place was booked up this weekend and it was unlikely, I figured I’d try anyway). Within 15 minutes, Rick came back up to our room and said«you’re not gonna believe this, but the people who had the Master bedroom(THESPOFFORDROOM) just called in and cancelled. It’s yours if you want it?» SOLD The entire place is dated but charming(this happens with houses that are a few hundred years old and it’s expected). The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but it was good enough. We got back late from the show and I wanted to start a fire in the fireplace but there wasn’t any kindling and only 3 smaller pieces of wood. That was a small bummer. There is a nice deck off of the room but it’s off the bathroom. The bathroom was nice and the shower was enjoyable. The next morning we had a great breakfast courtesy of the managers. One of the best Omelettes I’ve ever had and my wife enjoyed the french toast and fruit. Did I mention they leave wine out for you to help yourself, as well as coffee? The grounds are beautiful and just up the road(about a half mile) from Infinity Hall and the Woodcreek Bistro. Also a close drive to Haystack Mountain, which is a must see. All in all, don’t hesitate too book here. The grounds and the management(Rick and Shelia) are worth it.

We LOVE tudors so picked this and from the outside and the lovely space downstairs, you will not be disappointed. The town is soo charming too. Take my word for it though that no matter how cheap/frugal you are do NOT and I repeat NOT book the cheapest room here. In my case it was the Cottage Room. The b&b owners laughed when they showed us to our room. My bf being 6’5 tall — really too tall for the sloping ceilings of this room. I got stuck on the side of the bed where the ceiling slopes down so far that I felt rather suffocated during the night. Really, it was bad. Tiny. I mean we live in tiny Manhattan studios and this was wayy tinier. Really it was a room fit for 2 dollhouse sized people. The linens were also ripped — torn pillowcase, sheet, plus the sheet would not stay on the mattress. Should have upgraded but we were too lazy. They did tell us to look in the other rooms, as they were unoccupied and all the other rooms looked spacious and gorgeous. So my fault for being a cheapskate. At $ 175 with tax per night really this room was a total disgrace. I hope management takes note of the issues. Upgrade the linens. It is one thing to stick people in a shoebox but another not to provide the expected quality of bedding. The breakfast was okay. Best thing by far– the homemade banana chocolate chip loaf bread!

This is a superb B&B. From the outside the house is very impressive. It only gets better once you walk inside. The innkeeper, Karl, is very helpful and does a fine job running the Inn. The rooms are gorgeous, the grounds spacious, the breakfast excellent and the location ideal, particularly if you’re going to a show at Infinity Hall. The Manor House website states their inn is one of the best Bed & Breakfasts in CT, we’ve stayed at many B&B’s throughout the US and Europe and this is definitely one of the best!

We just spent a wonderful weekend with family at the Manor House. Tucked away on a quiet street, it’s a classically beautiful home with gorgeous grounds and a wonderful family to that runs it. From deliciously prepared breakfasts to an excellent catered dinner, you will eat well here. They also have several rooms with lavish bathtubs, even one that fit my 6’1″ frame(which is rare), and a small spa room with a superb local professional that can come by as needed. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway, you should definitely take a look at the Manor House.

A great place to stay if you are seeing a show at Infinity hall. It’s a beautiful 5 minute walk to the hall. The new innkeepers are great and the B&B is just beautiful. I can’t wait to go back during the autumn leaf peeping season. Breakfast was super and we felt like the house belonged to us for the weekend.
