Pretty cool spot! Is a hidden gem. You like hookah and some pretty decent food give the spot a try. Very mellow very cool lighting and I want on a Friday where they had a live DJ so that was pretty cool too

Not sure where the beautiful pictures come from, I guess the hookah lounge in the back.
My husband and I had a groupon that was close to expiring do we decided to go there last night. The groupon states reservations required and has a phone number. That phone number belongs to someone called «junior» who hasn’t worked there in over a year. So if you have a groupon, no need to call «junior».
We were greeted my the cook (a lovely lady only on her 2^nd day). She asked smoking or non smoking we stated non smoking «please». She told us we could sit anywhere in the front. No one else was there (we got there just after 5 pm). The front does not look anything like the pictures depicted. Nor was there any music. Someone did ask if we wanted the tv on, but we don’t need television while we are eating.
My husband ordered lamb kabob platter while I ordered falafel platter. The hummus was good, the lamb was totally flavorless and the falafel was ok (a little dark).
I felt kind of bad for my husband as he choked down the lamb (it was the only thing he ate on the plate), but he dipped it in the hummus and my tahini sauce to help give it some flavor. Since the lamb was so hard to choke down alone (dry), he couldn’t eat it w/​the white rice. So everything else on the plate was left.
Obviously there wasn’t enough lamb alone to fill a grown man so he helped me eat my falafel platter. I have a small appetite so it was plenty & I still had 2 left over to take home.
We tried ordering baklava & rice pudding to go (when going somewhere for the first time, we usually try from different parts of the menu). But we were told they didn’t have rice pudding so we took 1 order of baklava to go. The baklava was very dry therefore broke (separated) the layers & definitely wouldn’t hold the nut layer to the rest of the baklava.
The waitress & cook were very personable and made us feel very welcomed however I wasn’t sure how to feel. The whole front of the store was on surveillance. We counted at least 6 cameras between us & the kitchen area (which is one open area). We may or may not try this place again… not sure.
I am guessing they cater more to their back room customers over their non smoking customers which may not be a good thing. At least not to me.

I came tonight to hang out with some DJ friends. So I’m commenting on the bar service and ambience only. It’s a real chill place. Colorful. Ultra lounge feel. Very comfortable leather couches and chairs. Pier 1 type lighting, décor and curtains. You get the idea. The bar and wait staff tonight are cool. Attractive and charming young women dressed a la The Village in NYC. Dance music promoters hold events here. Come check it out.

I’m still waiting for my check.

After watching Avengers and Ironman mentioned Shwarma Wraps, I had to try one. Found this place. A hidden gem. Not sure what all these negative reviewers were expecting from a hookah lounge but after traveling and dining around the world, I can honestly say that the Shwarma and service was A+. The music was great too. Guess I lucked out.

Our experience at this location was below average. The atmosphere was tacky and uninviting. The worst part was the service. We choose not to order food after waiting 30 minutes for drinks. (They weren’t busy, the server just didn’t seem to care). It’s a shame because we live close and I like hookah.

Ambience was okay, baklava was nice (But pricey) and hookah was very harsh. Wouldn’t come back!

Horrible service! The waitress that worked there tried to rip us off with our check, then didn’t even want to fix it. You have to ask every time you want something because the waitress and waiter was no where in sight. Worst hookah bar I have ever been too!!!

Worst experience, everytime I come here I decide not to come again, friends forced me to come here tonight, but this this is definitely the last time. Very poor customer service. The new Romanian waitress doesn’t know to behave with people. All she does is please the owner, serve his hookah and be around him.
Nobody cares about your hookah /​food. When you ask why, they say they are «sorry». Just waste of time /​money.
Stay away from this place and find a place where they appreciate their customers.

I have to say I wanted to love this place but I can’t give business to an establishment that decides when they want to add an 18% service charge because the bill is over 40 dollars and a party of 4?! However the couple we were with didn’t have the same on their check. I won’t argue but I definitely don’t see myself coming here again especially because this added charge wasn’t advertised on the menu or anything. I came here four times and each time my perception of the establishment declined either because of service or unadvertised charges.

I have a problem with places like this… places that don’t follow the rules, and overall aren’t great anyway.
So it was a few nights ago I decided to go up to Mazzika for a hookah. I get in, I order. My first problem is the wait. It shouldnt take more than 7 – 10 minutes to get a hookah out. It took 20, and the place was empty. I ordered my standard mix, 50% AF Orange and 50% AF Mint. It was okay, but I could tell that the hookah was not cleaned (picking up other notes than orange and mint) and for a ~$ 14 hookah should be a non issue.
So I finished smoking and decide to pay. Here’s where it gets appalling. I added a box of coals (~$ 14) to my order and the manager decides to charge me the 18% service charge and 12.5% restaurant tax for my box of coals without letting me know or it being advertised, which is illegal. I still paid, as I didn’t feel like arguing with the manager, but I promise I will never be back.

Atmosphere is good. Lots of hookah flavors and good hookah too ! Hummas and lamb was really good. Great place for food and hookah :) music and music videos are cool and

When we arrived, we were all puzzled about the hookah lounge part. It’s a nice looking, but small restaurant in the front. When asked if we were there to smoke, they pointed us to the lounge area, and boy were we surprised! Very nice, well appointed and beautiful lounge! Delicious food and tasty hookah, we all had a blast. THIS is my new favorite hang-​out spot!

I tried falafel over rice and It was not up to New York style. But Ya you can try this place.

I give Mazzika’s a 5-​star review because it is the best hookah lounge in the Norfolk/​Hampton area, it is extremely clean, the setup is quite nice, and has a full kitchen and bar, which is more than you can ask for at most of it’s competitors. Mazzika’s staff is quite friendly and will talk to you, and will work with you. There food isn’t the best (the fries are to die for though), but their hookah is good, and their prices are a little high, especially with the 18% gratuity, but much worth it.

So good and Yummy Arabic food … Especially the appetizer, Deserve a try …

Great customer service I got the magic dragon hookah flavor, it was fresh and crisp not to overbearing. They played recent music videos on one screen and of course middle eastern music videos on another. The DJ played a great mix of music and the food was pretty good! What I loved most was the vibe/​atmosphere here relaxed but upbeat. They came around very frequently to change our coal, I always appreciate attentive and friendly service!

18% mandatory gratuity — for a party of one! The food was decent, but small portions. I had to order appetizers and dessert just to feel like I had a meal, which made it extremely pricey. No air conditioning in the restaurant part. Tea was bagged. The staff was nice and kept telling me I could sit in back (the hookah part) — but sitting with the residue of smoke is not my idea of breathable/​good time.

The service is really bad and the owner is so mean with his workers. I went there many times and I talked with the owner who speak Arabic. The owner was saying ugly things about his workers because he was speaking Arabic and they can’t understand him. He is two faced. The food prices is to expensive comparing to Arabic food.

Drinks were gd and strong. My friend had one of their special drinks. I ordered lamb sh-​something. (I forget) its a wrap. That came out as chicken. After asking the waiter found out they were out of lamb… ok great. They replaced it with beef. Ok w me but hummus was ice cold and pitas tough and I didn’t care for my beef thingy.
Of course I didn’t want to send it bac and wait another long time. But the waiter was nice and was trying really hard to do a gd job. So even though they do auto-​add %18 he deserved more
I’ve been again since I wrote this. Only thing if your unsure whether ur eating they sit u at benches w nowhere to put ur drink, the first waiter was not impressable at all, and I saw the guy that served me the first time and asked for him again. He sat me at a small table. An as before his service was gd. Thanks
