I enjoy good Mexican food and let me tell you that this place is not good Mexican food. I’ve been here twice, and that is enough for me. I had the chicken enchilada’s and they weren’t the worst, but the sauce on them was not my cup of tea. Now, my personal preference, I do not like red enchilada sauce on my Mexican, and that is what they have. My husband enjoys that particular sauce, and he really likes this place. Myself, not so much. It’s to saucy and has a funny taste, in my opinion. The rice is soggy and pretty flavorless and bland. The beans are alright and their salsa has almost a ketchup flavor. The interior of the restaurant is old and not much to it. I don’t really have anything to complain about the service and the food came out quick and hot. This is not the place I would recommend if you want good Mexican food. However, if you do like those particular sauces they offer they do have a good sized menu and plenty of options. I do think, however, you could probably make better Mexican food at home.

Love this place! When I was going to school at NECC I found this place. 10 years after graduating I still make trips a few times a year from Blair, NE to Norfolk just to eat at Ricardos. I love the taste of the taco meat and the cheese they use.

Mediocre at best. Canned fake cheese, processed, microwaved chicken, etc. basically the equivalent of Taco Bell minus the flavor.

Wasn’t impressed with either the atmosphere of food here. Had an enchilada and taco. The taco seemed like an Old El Paso one you would make at home. The interior was beyond being a dive, more or less run down. Won’t be visiting here again.

Every time I go to Ricardo’s(the sit-in side), it’s hoppin’, which gives me an indication that the locals enjoy the food and drink. Once my partner and crime and I discovered the salsa bar, there was no stopping us. The service is always cheerful and keeps the water glasses full to brimming.

It boggles my mind that Ricardo’s receives anything beyond a single star. The food is extremely flavorless americanized garbage, soggy flour tortillas, all toppings are fresh from a can. The interior looks like it was decorated in 92(about the last time it was cleaned). Anyone that reviews beyond one star grew up eating this and has no clue what real mexican food can taste like. Try El Rodeo or Fresh Salsa at the mall.

Amazing burrito grande and they are flexible allowing vegetarians to replace the beef with beans and coming in the smaller pelican size for children

Ricardo’s is my family’s favorite whenever we go out to eat. Go to the back when you need the best margarita or to the front when you have kids in tow. Try the Molly!

MYABSOLUTEFAVORITEMEXICANRESTAURANTINNORFOLK!!! The margaritas are the best in town. I always get a strawberry mango one :) tons of food and it’s all delicious! Super taco dinner is my favorite. The owners are super friendly and will take great care of you. Every time I’m in Norfolk I go there. It’s well worth it!

This was the biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent. In fact if I had to I would pay them just to not have to eat here again. First off we didn’t know if we had to seat ourselves or what. The bar tender and one waitress stared until telling us to sit ourselves. It took 15 minutes to get water, tea and chocolate milk. The bar tender stood there staring instead of helping the waitress as more people piled in. It took less than 4 minutes after ordering to get our food. 9 dollars for 2 cheese enchiladas and a side of beans. This place would benefit from never opening again.

Let me start by saying, I have good memories of Ricardo’s from years ago. I went there to use a free-in-the-mail $ 10-off coupon, dine in only. The back bar has a more extensive menu than the front area. I tried the steak fajitas: –they were obviously leftover, microwaved(not hot and came out in about two minutes), and covered in a packaged Mexican(?) sauce. –the guacamole was at least a few days old. I tipped well because of the coupon, and feel buyers remorse for going – even with the $ 10 off. You’d be better off going to Tienda Leon’s on Main Street(the shrimp nachos with extra shrimp and cheese are fantastic).

If you like Mexican food, stay far away from Ricardo’s. This is a gringo’s idea of what Mexican food should be. The beef is basically hamburger with some taco seasoning in it. It’s like the food you get at Taco Bell — but worse. There are a few authentic Mexican places in town — best to try one of those.

Ricardos is a little slice of heavenly Mexican/American food on earth. Oh boy do I love this stuff. I love it so much I bring bags of refried beans back with me to Chicago. And I am not joking. Potato pesos, and burrito grandes, and nachos oh my! This place has it all. Is it overly«authentic» you ask? Well to that I say define«authentic.» Ricarods is authentic in its own Ricardo-y way. And as for the owner, Judy, well it doesn’t get much better than her, she’s as nice as they come. Come to this place or forever have a burrito shaped hole in your heart.

Just say no to Ricardo’s. Very, very bad Mexican food. Norfolk actually has some pretty great Mexican restaurants, so try Tienda Leon(the best) or El Mezcal(not as great as Leon’s but SO much better than this crap). Ricardo’s is worse than Taco Bell, Taco John’s or Amigo’s. Terrible food, terrible service, and just not worth your time.

I have only been to Norfolk once, but off a recommendation from a website, i went here. This place needs help — 4 – 5 main items 2 – 3 different ways. Try some place else.

I visit Norfolk a couple times a year now, and I always insist the family come here. Judy, the owner is a wonderfully sweet person, who strictly maintains the enduring quality and consistency of my favorites. I get the hard shell tacos and apple crisp. The food here has lots of flavor and unique character. Really like the strawberry margaritas too. Convenient and very reasonably priced. My parents are elderly, and they like the taco burgers. The enchiladas have a wonderful sauce, too.
