Great products and a great staff! My mom and I just passed this place on the way to the doctors and decided to stop in and I am so glad we did! We ended up finding so many wonderful things. I bought a unique necklace I know I will never see anywhere else. I also managed to pick up three gifts. They carry unique things that are just fun! The jewelry is special, you just know they are one of kind things you won’t find anywhere else. The woman working was so sweet and friendly, we had a lovely conversation. I highly suggest you stop in!

Cute store! Lots of fun gifts and reasonably priced too. Didn’t get a chance to visit the upstairs coffee shop, but hopefully next time.

Located in Fair Grounds Coffee House. This is a novelty shop, but not like anything you would find like going to a Hallmark. Wood floors and a neat glass display case give you the feel of another time. Many of the items are unique artisan items such as jewelry, paintings, cards and cool gift idea. Even the dressing area, a small garden arbor with a curtain was quite resourceful for space. I found the older staff woman to be very attentive. I found the store to be clean and organized. Although I did not purchase anything this time around I plan to return.

I accidentally found this lovely shop while wandering through Ghent a few weekends ago and all I can say is what’s not to love about Texture? As a self-proclaimed jewelry addict, I was immediately drawn to the glass display counter that housed some unique and beautiful locally made jewelry. I immediately spied a pair of earrings I just had to have, but decided to browse the rest of the store first. They have a really nice collection of jewelry, gift items, items from local artists and baby stuff. I normally would not be interested in the baby stuff, but with my husband expecting his first grandchild, a pair of hand painted baby booties made their way home with me. Honestly, I think I circled this shop multiple times because there is so much to see. The woman working the day I stopped in was warm and welcoming. This is a cozy and fun place to stop in and the coffee shop upstairs is just an added bonus! I did finally make my way back to that jewelry counter and those earrings. I was encouraged to try them on. With that and finding out the price was not as high as I expected, all I could say was sold. Sold, not only on the earrings, but returning to Texture when I next visit Norfolk. If you are local and have not stopped in, you are missing out.

This was a very cute little shop. It actually wasn’t so little once I got inside, it’s fairly big and full of all kinds of little goodies.

I always shop here when in need of a unique gift. Lots of interesting things to choose from. Some knick knacks can be a tad expensive but everything is such good quality that it is worth it!

I am originally from Chicago, and this store is my first go-to spot for unique gifts to send back home. The finds there really run the gamut: jewelry, home décor, trinkets with political humor, religious items. Everything is of high-quality, and much of it is handmade. Those who work in the shop are the epitome of helpful and classy without being overly pushy. And they’ll gift wrap your items free of charge — they do a fabulous job! My sole criticism: Some of the prices can tip to the high side.

Texture is AMAZING!!! I have bought things from the store for several years, clothing, unique jewelry, gifts etc. and the one thing that ALWAYS happens when I wear something from Textures is I get stopped and asked«Where did you get that».The owner has such an eye for seeking out unusual, unique, «art ti wear, art to share». I have taken several small groups of women on journeys to special shops in the area, and Texture is always top of the list. I have become addicted to several artists that sell their handmade items at textures. I love the antique button jewelry, Martha Thrashers inventive, colorful handmade wonders: things like the dice necklace, the marjong watch, the unique clocks and baby things. I could go on and on… but instead YOU go see for yourself for you too will fall in love with TEXTURE.

I love Texture! It’s my go to place to find unique gifts for people. Some of their stuff is a bit pricey, but it’s all handmade items, so it’s understandable. I have found unique bracelets, earrings and home items there for many of my friends and family.

What is the deal with me having lived in this area for years and somehow still haven’t checked out these local gems until recently? HELP A SISTEROUT! *ahem* Anyway, I stopped in to Texture a couple of weeks ago for the first time and it was love at first sight. Right when I walked in I saw the funny-retro items by Anne Tantor(love her!) And then when glancing over to my right I saw the RING table! Everyone who knows me knows I have an affinity for big, beautiful rings(some may call it a sickness — hey, potato/tomato). I loved looking through all of the jewelry they had to offer: gems, mother of pearl, stones, glass — they seem to have it all. They have cute items, hand made items, local items, baby items, purses, hats, books, coffee mugs, the list could go on and on. It’s not the biggest place in the world but I could have looked for an hour. It had the sweetest atmosphere. I will most definitely be back there for Christmas shopping as I know my Mother would absolutely love anything whatever I end up buying her from Texture. And then after Christmas, I’ll be back there to treat myself.

Texture has a special place in my heart. I get the warm and fuzzies just thinking about all of the treasures harbored in this house-like store. It feels like my grandmother made the wonderful jewelry, home décor and accessories, but only that she’s somehow become infinitely cooler, and my grandma’s pretty cool already. I bought a wallet from Texture years ago and it’s held up through college and Peace Corps without ever going unnoticed. It is probably one of the best purchases I’ve ever made, and boy, I’ve sure done my fair share of shopping. Everything is unique and usually hand made. Sometime I drop in just to get inspiration for creating some of my own artsy do-dads. If you need to get a gift for one of those someones who have absolutely everything, this is the shop. With Texture, you will definitely gain some cool points.

This shop is the perfect place to stop in for gifts, unique jewelry, and Eco-friendly merchandise. I love the warm and friendly vibe and the fact that Fairgrounds Coffee shop is right above on the second floor. You feel like you are visiting a friend’s house the whole time you are here. I am actually glad that I was an out-of-towner and had to consider how I was going to pack all of my purchases, because I could have done some REAL damage here. My debit card is thankin me. The shop girl was very helpful and wrapped some gifts that I had purchased while I shopped. I was able to pick up an adorable Rock and Roll onesie, handmade baby bunny hanger, and a unique pacifier with the words«Do Not Disturb» all for under $ 38 gift wrapped. This will totally show up all of the«marrieds» at the upcoming bridal shower! I also picked up some great quotation cards by a company called«Local Wisdom». I fell in love with the gorgeous card with the quote, «Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost». These cards were reasonably priced at just $ 3. The receivers of them will surely feel more special than if I had given them a bland Hallmark card. Did I mention that Fairgrounds Coffee is upstairs!!! Be sure to check out the Classic Hardware jewelry and Make Love Not Trash collections here!
