We had a Hawaiian pizza. It was so good. Service was good. First time eating here. We were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary. Our fist date was at a pizza place.

What can I say other than OUTSTANDING! Service was fantastic. Pizza was fresh and hot. No rush. We paced the lunch and enjoyed the time here. Will definitely be back. Have pineapple with any pizza!

What a pleasant surprise. I’m older than the average patron in here by way too many years. Ugh. Typical college bar right? Not so fast. I walked in and was treated very enthusiastically by a bartender named Ben. There’s concert tshirt hanging and some WWE stuff if you look closely. The crowd seems like exactly what it should be — college kids having a good time. I ordered the small thin crust deluxe cheeseburger pizza and it absolutely didn’t disappoint. The service was great the beer selection was perfect, the willingness of the bartender to flip a hockey game on for me and some solid pizza and great music guarantees I’ll be back. Just don’t make fun of the old guy at the bar by himself.

Just to start… love the name! I went in on a late Sunday afternoon. Not very crowded but a I can see this placed bringing a great atmosphere. They have a lot of craft beers which isn’t my taste but that’s ok. I couldn’t resist the $ 1 PBRs. I had an 8″ pepperoni & cheese. This thing was cook to perfection. I’d definitely go back here in a heart beat.

We stopped here with friends for appetizers & drinks. Great staff. The food was good. Hot wings not overly hot and really not jumbo like menu says, but good. The honey BBQ boneless wings were really good. The fried mushrooms were a little over cooked. Individual small flat screens at each booth is a nice touch on game days. Overall a great local place to visit!

Not a bad place, service was good, pizza was decent and extra thin and crispy. pasta was served in a bread bowl shaped like pizza that was unique, the price on beer and alcohol was what you’d expect in a college town filled with fake I’Ds really cheap, wings weren’t that good but the onion rings for starters were good.

We have been here before, however, this time was different. We were there on a Wednesday from about 5:30 — 7:00. The whole time, we were one of two tables. We were very surprised. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a second one with multiple toppings. The pizza was just okay. Not as impressive as in the past. With it being right next to a college campus, we expected it to be busier. Also, the quality has slipped. Even two teenage boys commented that it didn’t taste as good as before. Not sure if/when we will be back.

Food is ok but nothing exceptional. We are here on a Saturday afternoon and decided to get the buffet. They had one cheese and one pepperoni pizza. The rest are all specialty. Here about an hour and they have only brought out one new pizza, despite the others being almost gone. Waited a long time for our bill and now for him to come get payment. Wasted our time and money here.

We wanted something a little different that had a nice beer selection and Firehouse fit the bill. Granted it was 5:00 on a Sunday in the summer, but there were a handful of tables occupied and a couple others at the bar, but with the timing factorsWorking in our favor, we had zero issue with the service we received sitting at the main bar. The pizza sauce is admittedly too sweet, seemingly mixed with sweet baby rays or similar BBQ sauce, but knowing this upfront and ordering a ‘za with lots of toppings to lessen the impact was a good strategy for us as we watched the U.S. Open on a couple 40−50-inch TVs. The crust was done perfectly, not too much cheese and the beer selection did not disappoint! Apparently timing is everything here.

The service is completely awful. Currently sitting in the restaurant and the server has had our tickets for 45 minutes. She didn’t split up the tickets and we had to write ours out seperately on napkins. Food is decent at best. Drinks are over-priced.

You can find me in Normal, IL a few times a year visiting my bros at school. We’re usually on a time crunch and try to stick nearby in uptown for food, which brought us to Firehouse for lunch. There was a group of 7 of us. When we walked in nobody greeted us so we went ahead and put a couple tables together ourselves. Finally a waitress came to take our drink orders. I figured I was in a college town, so I should indulge in the cheapest drink special which was $ 3 wells. Vodka tonic it is! Unfortunately it took a hell of a long time to get our drinks, so we made sure to snag our waitress to place our app and meal orders stat(since who knows when she’d be back). We ordered breaded mushrooms and bosco sticks for the table. Both were just okay. For my meal I went with the 10 piece boneless wings — half honey BBQ and half hot. 10 sounded like a challenge to me, but I figured my brother could take them home with him. Welp, that wasn’t the case. These wings were BABY little nuggets. Super small. Both flavors were good, but they needed more sauce. I ate 8 of them no problem, but they were way overpriced. I tried a couple of slices of the margarita pizza that a few at the table got to share and that was really good. Lots of tomatoes and a nice thin crust. I wasn’t a fan of whatever well vodka I had, so ended up rounding off my meal with a corona because you just can’t go wrong with that. At the end of the day, my experience at Firehouse was just meh. Food was nothing special and service was slow. Especially for how empty it was on a Saturday at 3 pm.

I ate the lunch buffet here today for the first time. The pizza was really good. What i enjoyed about it most was the taste of the sauce, it was a little sweet. I wished there were more pizza options on the buffet. There was not much variety. Price for the buffet and a soda was $ 10.96, this does not include the tip i left. I plan to eat there again.

Great variety of pizza and the pizza buffet is great although if you are going for the drinking aspect, expect to shell out some dinero.

Most of the Unilocalers have it right. Frozen food is junk, the pizza is great and it is a typical college bar. But, it also offers the best beers on tap in Uptown. Their IPA takeover is the best part of the year. Also, if you do not like sweeter, tangier sauce, the pizza isn’t really for you, but the wings are exceptional so you could order those in lieu if pizza. Bartenders are friendly which makes up for the awkward waitstaff. Also, Bingo on Tuesdays is always fun.

I have read the reviews of previous Unilocalers and agree with most. Yes, it is a college bar with bar food. Yes, some of the menu items are fresh frozen. Maybe they should buy a little higher quality of frozen foods. The beer on tap, Oh the BEER on TAP!!! They always have a great selection! Sometimes we go in just for a beer. I have been in a few times now and I have had good service each time. Although when they are busy they slow way down. My two cents, the staff needs to learn how to come together and work as a team. I saw a few servers just texting away waiting for the bartender to pour the beers they ordered for their customers. Meanwhile, the bar was completely full and even had a line of people waiting for drinks. There was just no sense of urgency from these servers. Firehouse Pizza has potential to be great, I hope it can find a way.

Their gluten-free(gf /gluten free) pizza is one of the best, if not only gf pizza, that you can get in the Bloomington/Normal area. And they have 2 types of crust. Both their rice and potato-based pies(pizza pies) are good. They usually have a decent cider available as well. Although they are pretty quiet during the week, trivia night livens up this local, walkable bar.

DON“T EATHERE! GOANYWHEREELSE! We had a bad experience here a couple years ago and decided to try it since our friends thought it was great. After waiting 45 minutes for kids mac and cheese, calzones and some wings, we left. They said our food was coming right up, but they delivered a deep dish pizza to people that arrived well after we did. I paid for our beverages, tipping way more than I ought to, just because I was tired of waiting and wanted to come home and WARNOTHERS to DINEELSEWHERE.

I very much enjoyed the food, beer, and atmosphere. My oldest son and I was looking for a place to catch the final four so we stopped in. We ended up ordering two large pizzas(Chicken Alfredo and Chicken Bacon Ranch). I requested they cook the chicken bacon ranch with red pepper flake in the sauce and they complied. It was one of the better pizzas I’ve had. Very good! I don’t recall the beers I had but they were craft brews and very good. They have better than average beer selection, plenty of TVs, and great pizza. They could probably do a little better job on the appetizer choices, nothing really stood out. I’ll be back!

I’ve only done take out — but their new york style pizza is some of the best pizza in Bloomington/Normal. I do like thin pizza too — but not the cheese on a square cracker that you find at several other pizza joints around town!
