Yes, it’s fresh(1st star). Yes, it can be healthy(2nd star). Yes, the portions are(usually) generous(3rd star). And, yes, everything my husband and I have tried has been tasty(4th star). But, WOW, it is EXPENSIVE! A corned beef sandwich with chips, a ¼ muffaletta(sp?) sandwich MINUS chips(my request), a single-trip salad bar, and 2 sodas(which we didn’t refill even once) was nearly $ 30! We can eat at Applebee’s and get two full meals, an appetizer, and sodas for that much money(or LESS). I’m sorry, but Jasons’ free ice cream is definitely not enough to keep us going back; for goodness sake, we can get a soft serve ice cream cone at McDonald’s for a buck.

Well, had I not taken up a residence here while waiting for my food. I would give it higher. BUT! I came in with a simple to go order. I ordered 5-stock sandwiches. Stock meaning, generic non-custom menu items. I ordered, paid, waited for about 35 minutes and still had nothing. I asked for a status, they said its the next coming. Was it? 3-more people were given to-go orders then me.

Great deli sandwiches offered in two sizes and the«lighter» option is still good sized. Good looking salad bar and FREE ice cream. Can’t beat that.

*This review is for the salad bar only* I’ve been meaning to try this place for quite some time. I was in the mood for a really good salad and Unilocal’d salads(Thanks Unilocal!) and Jason’s was listed. Based on the reviews, we each got the salad bar with chicken breast. You have to order your protein choice in addition to your salad bar which is odd to me but whatever, I know chicken and shrimp is pricey. One Unilocal review indicated that the chicken would be a couple bucks added to the salad bar so we just ordered without worrying about it. When the cashier asked for $ 26 for two salad bar lunches, we both stared at her stunned! What? It turns out the tiny, custard cup sized bowl of unseasoned cold chicken breast is $ 4 added to your salad bar. Not cool! But our fault for not asking first. In the future we will skip it and just get the salad bar plain because the chicken added nothing. If it were freshly grilled and flavorful, maybe, but cold and bland, no thanks, I’ll keep my money. Beyond our chicken shock(Like sticker shock only with more protein), the salad bar was just as fabulous as other reviewers described. Everything was extremely fresh and there were a lot of variety. One thing I especially loved was the tub of cranberries, raisins, walnuts, and seeds. I love a good cranberry walnut salad and since Arby’s discontinued their Martha’s VInyard salad, I have been bereft. No one seems to have a good one in these parts! We each made two trips to the salad bar, loaded up, so the price of the salad bar SANS chicken was a value in my opinion. You do get free ice cream but after eating a healthy salad, I wasn’t about to dive headfirst into chocolate ice cream! Oh and one reviewer noted that protein came as an addition but included boiled eggs in the list offered. I wanted to note that boiled eggs were actually included in the salad bar right along with the other toppings and were not extra. There were the standard potato/fruit/pudding salads included but I did not have any. My boyfriend said they were outstanding though. So overall: We only had the salad bar(although we peeked at other’s lunches and everything we saw looked fresh and delicious) and it was worth the money as long as you skip the chicken and just have the salad bar. Staff was friendly, even though it was very busy, we went through the line very quickly.

Very good place to eat. Great sandwiches compared to other places. The sandwiches are big too. My only flaw is that they raised the price on my favorite sandwich by a good amount. So if i want to get what i usually want to eat there i have to spend $ 17 for the sandwich and cup of soup. Last i checked i wasnt in chicago

Jason’s Deli came to the Bloomington-Normal area less than a year ago, but quickly made a name for itself in an area where it’s not uncommon for a restaurant to open and close within six months. Located on Veterans Parkway, it’s not in the easiest to get to location, but that doesn’t keep the parking lot from being full virtually every hour it’s open. Jason’s Deli is a fast-casual establishment homed in Beaumont, TX, specializing in soups, salads, and sandwiches. They have an extensive menu, including a variety of healthy eating options, seasonal offerings, and(the best part)…free ice cream. The restaurant was converted from a Hibachi-type restaurant and is now decorated in green, grey, and brown, giving it a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food is made when it’s ordered, so it can be a bit slow in being delivered. I’ve never had a problem with an order, the meals have always been accurate, the food has always tasted good, and I’ve never left unhappy or unsatisfied. It’s not uncommon to see a manager walking through the restaurant to see how things are going. Unlike some reviews, I think the prices are very reasonable and it really doesn’t matter to me that it may take a little longer to get my food, because I know a) it’s being made fresh and b) care is being taken to make sure the order is correct. There is nearly always a line at Jason’s, leading me to think they could do with either a) another order-taking station or b) to actually have all of the registers open during heavy volume periods. It’s not uncommon for one or two people to do all of the order taking, which a) slows things down and b) ensures the line doesn’t go down for extended periods of time. That’s actually my only complaint, because everything else we’ve encountered during our visits. The food has always tasted great, the environment isn’t cluttered with television sets or loud music(you can actually converse with your dining partner without having to raise your voice), and the service has always been friendly and efficient.

Note: this review is for the salad bar only. As a huge salad bar fan, this place was a delightful change from the god awful salad bar at Ruby Tuesday’s(there aren’t a lot of options in the area). For around $ 8 you can stack you plate high with bacon, cottage cheese, hummus, chick peas, eggs, etc. And for dessert don’t forget the free ice cream or delicious banana pudding stuff from the salad bar. Only complaint is not a ton of protein offerings, although you can always order a side of chicken for a small charge(I think around $ 2). Tip: try the chocolate cornbread. You must!

Restaurant was clean upon arrival. Great menu choices. The food tasted great! Serving staff met expectations and helped us along for our first time being in the store. Great atmosphere and can’t beat the free ice cream when your meal is done!

It’s not really a «Deli». The menu has so many options that it’s a bit overwhelming. I’ve been here twice as I like to give some places a second chance especially if they’re super busy. The food is not bad, but it’s OK, and that’s good, I guess. Frankly, both times I’ve been there I wasn’t over the top excited about the food, and wondering if I should have ordered something else. I’ve tried their salmon sandwich and their salad bar, but really. Eh… Big deal they let you have some soft serve for dessert. Whatever. It seems somewhat pricey for what you get, but for this part of the country I must say that’s it’s probably one of the healthier restaurants to eat at. If I’m going to eat healthy I’ll just eat at home.

I love the santa fe chicken sandwich. My family loves the free ice cream!!! The place is located in somewhat of an awkward spot, but still easy to access! The healthy food options are nice. And the staff has always been friendly during my trips there!

This place was disgustingly dirty! The tables were sticky and had food on them. The floor — literally every step — had food on it. Now to the food: boring, unappetizing, over salted and mediocre. I don’t know what the fuss is about this place. Are people that blind to bad food? This is a fast food joint! Lots of better places to go in town for the same money. The server who brought the food to the table was pleasant, but the order was wrong. Sigh. It was only two sandwiches… I checked out the salad bar and passed – iceberg lettuce and mayo based salads. Really folks, try something else!

Crowded parking lot at lunch… good sign! Very short line to order food… better sign! Clean restaurant and friendly staff to greet you and take your order… excellent sign! Fresh food at a reasonable price with free ice cream…5 Stars! I’m not sure what I was expecting other than a good sandwich at a decent price but they certainly met my expectations and then some. I had the Club Royale with baked lays and a water and the cost was $ 7.78 after tax. The turkey was piled high and the ingredients in the croissant were fresh. I went over and had a swirl bowl of soft serve for dessert. I am looking forward to another visit!

I just arrived in this area in mid May, so I wasn’t aware that this store was new until reading these reviews. I must say that it makes me doubly impressed. I’ve been to Jason’s multiple times over the past couple of weeks as I’ve become addicted to a couple of their sandwiches. The rundown of my experience is below. Service: Exceptional — all of the employees are friendly and seem to be very knowledgeable. My order has always been correct and the food is prepared relatively quickly considering how busy they usually are. Food: Very good — each item that I have gotten is fresh and the portions are pretty large. Price: On the higher end for sandwiches, but not completely ridiculous. Menu: The menu is pretty large, but like another reviewer said, there isn’t a ton of originality. However, you can customize your sandwich, down to the type of bread they use. Interior: The setup is a little confusing as the line to order splits off in two directions. If you want to place a to-go order, you can bypass the eat-in line. They also have online ordering. The interior itself is fairly large and bright and set up well with bars for salads and desserts. Now, on to the specifics of my experiences. The first time I used the drive thru and ordered the Club Royale(which is a croissant stuffed with turkey, ham and bacon and topped with swiss, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and a honey mustard with a kick of what tastes like horseradish to me). That thing is YUMMY. There’s always a ton of meat and the lettuce and tomato are fresh. It comes with a bag of regular or baked chips. It will set you back around $ 8 after tax, but considering the amount of meat on it, the price is well worth it. The drive-thru was quick and service was friendly. I went a few other times and had the same sandwich. Then one day I ordered online. I wanted to try a couple of sandwiches, so I ordered the half portion. Unfortunately the price isn’t cut by half, but it’s around $ 1-$ 1.50 less for the smaller portion. I tried the chicken Vera Cruz, which is apparently new and limited time as well as the Cuban panini. The Vera Cruz was VERY good. It’s grilled chicken, muenster cheese, hatch green chilis, sauteed onions, roma tomatoes and a chipotle aioli on telera bread(which is also apparently a new thing there). I ended up having the sandwich in whole form again later. Like the Club Royale, there’s no shortage of meat and goodies on it. The Cuban Press panini was really disappointing though. I’ve had a Cuban sandwich from a Publix(which for those who don’t know is a southern based grocery store chain that has a deli) and it was awesome. Jason’s sandwich was kinda bland. The only thing I could taste on it was the pickle. The pork may as well have not even been on it. The bread also tasted odd from the press. Almost like old oil. I’ve also tried two of their soups. The chili and the southwest chicken chili. Both were pretty good. Neither was what I would call exceptional, but not bad either. It hits the spot if you’re having a craving though the price is a tad steep at $ 3 for a cup, though I will say the cup is a decent size. So overall my experience has been very good. I will certainly go again. In fact, I’m craving a Club Royale and Vera Cruz right now! Side note: One other nice thing. If you go in to place a to-go order, they will allow you to have something from the dessert bar for free. Not bad getting a free ice cream cone while you wait!

Holy mountain of meat, Batman! I tried the New Yorker which is exactly a butt ton of pastrami and an equal butt ton of corned beef on rye with ground mustard and rye. It’s the one and only sandwich I’ve had from a Jason’s deli and it was ahhhh-mazing. It was also over $ 9 which is pricey for just a sammich, however, I got two meals out of considering it’s massive meatiness. I just may try something else, but I don’t know. The New Yorker is my idea of a meat tornado. Nomtastic.

I have been to Jason’s Deli four times since it has opened and it is delicious! The penne pasta with meatballs and chicken Alfredo are to die for! The asiago cheese on top makes it even better! This place has a salad bar that is always stocked, clean, and FRESH! You get free ice cream with your meal and the atmosphere is great! Staff is very friendly and if you like meat, they stack it up! The roasted fire tortilla soup is delicious as well! It will cost you around $ 10.00 per person — that is with a soft drink– but for the quality and taste… It’s worth it! If you haven’t been here yet, give it a try! But come hungry because the portions are massive!

I went to Jason’s Deli and it was a great experience! I went through the drive-through and it was fast and the food was amazing. I ordered the mediterranean wrap with no turkey. It was the best wrap I have had in a long time. I also appreciate how they have some vegetarian meals because of the fact that I am a vegetarian. Overall I would recommended Jason’s Deli to anyone who enjoys great and healthy food at a low cost.

My girlfriend and I decided to try Jason’s Deli for lunch, crowded is an understatement(only the third day open so we were expecting that). We ordered the California Club and Mediterranean Wrap; Jason’s gets a star for quality(all ingredients seemed fresh), cleanliness, and customer service. Two stars are deducted for quantity and selection/originality. I actually had to open my wrap to make sure there was turkey in it, the bread for the club was dried out but my wrap was fine, and there is nothing that makes Jason’s stand apart from another deli. I actually wouldn’t consider this a deli, it’s more akin to a Zoup’s type restaurant. Side note: Upon exiting I saw the salad bar which looked promising, perhaps next time.
