R K Grocery

I’m not Indian, I just love to cook a variety of food from different ethnicities, and Indian is one of my favorites.
I had a bad experience in another of our local Indian grocery stores, so was looking for a new store to shop in, when I rediscovered R K Grocery. I had shopped here a few years back, but was surprised to find that the store had expanded into what used to be an Aquarium store.
The frozen selection was impressive with many brands to choose from — we found it took a while to pick a box of samosas due to the large choice!
I found many of my favorite brands/​flavours here, from Punjabi pickle to Natural Chandan incense. The «spice wall» is just amazing, with spices, grains and pulses from floor to ceiling. The selection of rice is huge and the prices are reasonable.
The fresh produce is just that — fresh. With many varieties available. The price for all vegetables is 99c/​lb, which is very reasonable.
I felt welcome here, unlike some other stores where I’ve been treated like I didn’t belong, or even straight out ignored. The store is clean and bright, the lady and gentleman who served me were pleasant and friendly. I’ll definitely be back!
