Tom’s may not look like anything special, but the service is great and the food is delicious! When you are driving through Illinois, I would recommend stopping in for breakfast (they are only open until 2 p.m.). It’s easy to find, fast, and easy on the wallet.

This is my favorite breakfast place in town and everything we’ve ever eaten here is good: French toast, waffles, eggs and especially the biscuits and gravy. Keep up the great work!

I just found my new favorite breakfast spot in town. I got the Chef’s Omelet. It was awesome, very flavorful. They have a huge menu with all your favorite traditional breakfast options. You have a choice of toast or pancakes with your meal. Of course, I chose pancakes. Then the waitress asked «Regular or pumpkin?» #wut. I assume they’re seasonal, but they were hands down the BEST pancakes I’ve EVER had. I can’t imagine a scenario in which I don’t come back to this place.

My family and I, were traveling through on our way back to Michigan from Tulsa, Oklahoma and stopped in Lincoln, Illinois for the night. The next morning, we wanted to go to a breakfast restaurant other than the same old, same old. We sought out Uncle Tom’s Pancake House. It was a very good decision. We had the Irish Skillet with a side of pancakes; it was filling and tasty. There must have been a 100 choices. Service was from Mandy, a feisty, friendly 30 year veteran waitress. A recommended breakfast stop for the traveller who wants to eat something other than from a chain restaurant.

Stopped in here for breakfast while in town. The reviews on Unilocal were positive so I gave it a try. My waitress recommended the eggs Benedict. Blah is all I can say. The ham was too thick and salty, eggs over done, but the sauce was decent. Cheap prices, decent service for small diner. Next time I’m in town will eat somewhere else.

Food is excellent, breakfast skillet as good as you’ll get anywhere. Fried potatoes are better than anywhere in town. Coffee is great and the worker’s couldn’t be friendlier. I love this place !!

Great service. The waitress helped us to get the best price for all the entrees and sides we wanted. She also was great about refilling our coffee and water. Also, the pancakes are super fluffy and delicious! I also liked their hash browns. Definitely worth a visit! Try to go when it’s not morning on a weekend!

Pancakes! One of my favorite breakfast foods ever and they make it with some magic ingredient that makes it so delicious! Their skillets are great too! I had the gypsy skillet and my boyfriend ordered one too, and we both loved it. Service is friendly and attentive too! Definitely will come back!

What to say about Uncle Tom’s Pancake House… What to say?
It’s a diner, through and through. It’s unpretentious. It’s old-​fashioned. It’s out of date. The food is decent; not great, but consistent.
And the place rules. I don’t know about you, but this is exactly what I want in a diner. Inexpensive, consistent food. The waffles and pancakes are surprisingly delicious. The omelettes are pretty big. The busy environment is somehow extremely relaxing. It’s a diner that does things the way a diner should, nothing more, nothing less.
