One of the two best Drive-In in Norman! The Classic Long Coney are great and the onion rings are better here. Servers is great too. A million times better than Sonic. #EatLocal

I love this place, been coming since high school. Food has always been great, servers as well and still is. I don’t order food here often but get a slush probably 3 days a week. The last 2 – 3 months at least 2 of those times their slush machine is down which is not good to a paying customer who frequents your establishment. Makes you begin to notice broken table décor, dirty signage etc. Im gonna need y’all to get it together! Since I posted this review^^^^^ I must say Classic 50 is back in my good graces. Slush machine is not broken all the time, the place is getting an aesthetic makeover and looks good. Its as if they read my negative but truthful review and made it a point to fix it. Thank You and see you… often!

I hate to give it 3 stars because it really depends on the day. Also, if this was 4 years ago, I’d bump the rating up to 4 cause classic 50s is definitely a staple of many OU students. I have fond memories of classic runs with my best friend, as well as with others. We recently tried to relive those days by making a run when she was back in town and it was nothing short of nostalgic. On the on days, the fried pickles are crisp, the sprittle is overflowing with skittles and the service is quick. On off days, you might only find 5 gummies in your drink, the Coke is flat and it takes forever to get to you. Even so, it is worlds better than sonic!!!

I have a weird obsession with Classics. I try to go every time I’m in Norman, actually. They are the only place I know of that has Sprittles, Sprite with Skittles in it, and it’s weirdly amazing. It’s open late and reasonably priced, and they have so many different candy infused drinks that make it so unique!

Amazing! Best hamburger you will ever eat! Always so fresh and delicious, this can be compared to an original IN-OUT burger!

Listen. This place used to be a million times better than Sonic. Anytime I found myself in Norman, it was a priority to swing by here and have a meal. It’s been about a year since I last went there(was great, had a burger and fries). Stopped by today for a hot dog and onion rings, husband had fries and a chicken fried steak. The proceeding culinary disaster is what led me to make an account today. The hot dog wasn’t cooked. Three slices of american cheese were slapped on top of it. I’m not sure how they even softened as much as they did since the meat wasn’t hot? The onion rings had literally no seasoning and tasted like a thin flavorless cracker around a warm onion. Fries were soft, and flavorless. Bland chicken fried steak sandwich. No salt. Literally no salt on fries or onion rings. The barely«melted» gross sliced cheese stuck to my teeth, the cold hot dog… You guys it was so bad. I wish there were more words for me to explain how bad it was. I tried to eat it man, I just couldn’t do it. I’m not some snobby food elitist either, and I don’t want to suggest this place is innately horrible… hell I’ll probably go back at some point, full of hope for a brighter future. But something sinister was afoot today at the classic 50s drive in. I feel betrayed.

This was recommended to me by multiple people so I decided to try it. I’m very unimpressed. Overpriced for what we got. We won’t be coming back.

We went back and forth trying to choose somewhere we hadn’t eaten but wanted something quick. We both ordered the triple deal which includes a double burger, fries and drink. We also ordered«homemade» onion rings and jalapeño cheddar nuggets. First the hamburger were store made patties but edible, the fries are the curly fries and if you like those that’s great I don’t. He onion rings were just ok but in my opinion not homemade. The jalapeños were good — hot but not too hot. Service was quick the hamburgers appeared to be already cooked then microwaved they list more points. Not impressed and wouldn’t go back.

Best Drive-In around! The menu is like Sonic, but with taste! The onion rings are better here, the corn dogs are amazing, and the slushes are more varied and wonderful too. This locally-owned drive-in is the way to go. Try a Crimson and Cream slush to truly have the Norman experience.

Always a pleasure coming here. Fast friendly service with great prices. Tried the Crimson and cream slushy and it was awesome! We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Onion rings with a #1. Also it would make great hangover food after a long night of drinking.

Out of the fast food places I’ve been to, this one actually gets a low rating. The burgers are very small with not much on them. I ordered a chocolate malt and ended up with all of the powder left at the bottom for me to choke on. Whoever made it certainly didn’t seem to be doing a good enough job. All of that aside, I ordered a large thing of okra and the broccoli cheddar nuggets. Those SAVED this review from 1 star. The nuggets were $ 5.00 for 6 of them. It’s outrageous, but they were so good. The okra was also to die for in my opinion. Add a little salt and pepper? Loving it! I just wished the employees did a better job and added some care and love to their food. Still yummy :)

This was my first time at this place. Disappointed I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with mustard it came with mayonnaise. The girl even said when she delivered my food a bacon cheeseburger with mustard instead of mayonnaise I said yes. It wasn’t until I left and got going down the road and bit into it and had mayonnaise. I wasn’t going to turn around and go back. I will not be returning to this place again! It’s a shame because It had high reviews!

I’ve been coming to Classics for many years now. The quality of the food hasn’t waned from when I was in high school to today. As other Unilocalers point out, the menu is very similar to Sonic. It’s a drive in, it has burgers, sides, shakes, slushes, etc. But, it has some items Sonic doesn’t carry, so I’d say the menu is more expansive. The slush selection is enormous, and there is everything from traditional fruit based slushes to «adult» flavored slushes, to candy flavored slushes. My favorites: strawberry, crimson and cream, white Russian. The food is mostly classic drive in type fare, so you shouldn’t expect anything revolutionary or gourmet. But, as I noted above, they have been producing quality food for many years now. My first fried pickle was at Classics, and I still order them every so often. I typically get a burger. Thin patties, but they retain some juiciness. The veggies are crisp, and the buns are soft. Like I said, these are not breaking the burger mold, but they are quality drive in food. Service is typically fast, even during busy hours. Classics is a great joint, I’m glad it’s done well for so long.

OUTOFCONTROL! I have family living in Norman, so I visit there often. I recently went to Classic 50’s for the very first time. O. M. G. Usually when I visit Norman, we hit Sonic Burger, which is also super good, but Classic 50’s was SOOOOOOFFTHEHOOK! It was amaaaaazing. I got a chocolate banana malt that was so thick it could literally be turned upside down and not fall out! It was amazing, as were the delicious cheese thingies I ordered! TOTALLY recommend, might even be worth flying there for their food. For Serious.

It’s hard not to compare this place to Sonic since they have such similar foods and both are drive-ins. Plus, Sonic is literally across the street. But I’d much rather go to 50’s Drive-In! Their limeades were so yummy! You can’t beat their prices either. Their menu is huge — from burgers, to hot dogs, fries, shakes, slushies… and so much more. We got our food really fast and it was amazing so I can’t complain. One thing I did observe was the girl who was delivering all the orders looked like she hated her job. The scowl was permanently stuck on her face. My friend and I sat there for ~30 mins and we watched her glare at all the customers. They probably should’ve given her kitchen duties, not customer interaction.

I have found memories of coming her as a kid and a college student, so we recently stopped back by for lunch. I was so disappointed. The food was not good. The service was really bad. Just not a good experience. Sad.

Norman Treasure! Ask anyone from Norman/OU Alum and they will tell you this is the place to grab a quick bite/drink! Its the«coke-date» staple of campus and a place everyone wants to stop on a trip to Norman. Try the Crimson & Crème Slush or my favorite the Strawberry Eskimo Frosty. The Cajun fries are a great snack and while Sonic is an Oklahoma company, its got nothing on this one location gem. So much that they tried to go in next store and finally abandoned the location because people would just park there and walk to Classics. They make their own syrups, are proud Norman/OU supporters and serve up drive-in deliciousness!

I unfortunately moved far away from this place about 12 years ago… however I miss Classic 50’s SO much! The conglomerate of slushies, the yummy chili-cheese dogs, the amazing chicken tenders with gravy… oh I want to jump on a plane and go back just to eat here again! The atmosphere is fun, and I have so many fond memories of driving through on a Friday night to see who’s around, of going to happy hour and getting my half priced slushie, and enjoying some«comfort food»!

High school hangout with lame food. Classic 50s is a drive in and a highly-frequented high school hangout that serves Sonic-type food with a bit better menu. Personally, I hate Sonic, so this isn’t terribly appealing to me in the first place. Likes: The menu is more diverse than Sonic’s. Food is about the same as at other lower caliber fast food joints. I do have to say though that blackberry slushes are pretty cool. Dislikes: The quality is very poor, and 50s serves typical drive in greasiness with a side of flavored drinks. Sonic’s food is just as tasty but lacks some of the items served at 50s. It’s a dumpy little joint that will forever be stuck in fast food land. If you’re grabbing fast food, don’t go to Sonic or its lame clone, Classic 50s. They both pretty much suck.
