Ate there for the first time at lunch. The egg salad sandwich was really tasty. I had the grilled green beans instead of fries. They were really good. The service was really good. We asked to have the music turned down and they were happy to do it. Our server was very attentive. I will go back.

Was excited to see Land Run open here on the East side of Norman and have now visited for meals 6 times with about 3 week apart in order to see how the restaurant developed. We have had extensive conversations with the owner and have seen many waitress changes through this period of time. Sadly to say, the food is mediocre if not lack luster and I would never compare the burger to Emma’s in the city. Waitress staff is friendly and very accommodating but the kitchen is extremely slow in getting the food out. Beer is cold but not real cold and wine is a good temperature. At this point I can not see any reason to try a steak at their inflated prices being the rest of the menu is plain. The front door greeter seems to be more interested in playing with his phone and seems bothered with having to do his job. With some major kitchen changes and an improvement in the greeter/hostess this place could make it. Hope they change and time will tell but so far the place keeps sliding downhill into sub-mediocrity. Update: 4−14−16 Gave them another try. This time in the bar. Guess management trains all people here to be extremely laid back and give poor service. Food was not warm and I would bet the Health department would strike them on this. Lucky no one in our party got sick. Kinda think this. Will be my Lat try till someone else takes over… Sad, overpriced food for what it is, poor flavored, cold temperature when delivered to table, slow service, after all this I would not dare order their overpriced steak to even try, all thumbs down after a year and 10 spread out visits…,

Good neighbourhood place, great steak and burger, other dishes are alright. Perfect for a after work beer or OU, Thunder game.

Notably above-average food! They pay attention to what they are doing here. Their BBQ is surprisingly good. I need to ask how they prepare it. It tastes like it’s smoked on-premises. Very generous portions, and a terrific burger too. The bar area seems lively and decent. The dining area is smallish and a little echo-y. But I recommend and will be back.

Best restaurant in Norman by far. The food is fresh and delicious. The bar specials are amazing. The staff is friendly and quite competent. Try the caprese salad it’s to die for. Go eat here you won’t be disappointed.

We ordered lunch from here today using OrderUp, I got the 1/3lb black angus burger with fries(I added bacon to the burger since we were splurging) and my 4 yr old got the french bread pepperoni pizza. Pros: The food arrived to our house still hot, which is a major plus for anything take out wise. The fries were good, my son liked them as did I, a few were soggy and a few were overcooked, but we got a few that were pretty good, and there were a ton. We actually had about half as many left as we started with and that was between the two of us and our lab stealing a few. Burger wasn’t bad if I took the bacon off. My son enjoyed the pizza, loved that it was french bread pizza instead of regular pizza. However he said the pepperoni wasn’t his favorite. Cons: I am a HUGE bacon lover(I mean, who isn’t though) however, this bacon was WAY to smokey flavored. Tasted almost like it had a gallon of liquid smoke poured all over it directly and was left to soak that up for 6 days. Even my son wouldn’t eat it, nor would the dog. Price wasn’t horrible, but I expected a side or a slightly larger portion to come with the kids meal. Adult portion was fine for the price, but I DEFINITELY don’t agree with $ 1.50 up charge for adding the bacon. At least not for that bacon. Overall, I would say it was decent. Will we eat there again? Probably not. But it may be better in the restaurant than getting delivery.

I’ve been here twice now and haven’t had any problems. Only been for lunch, and it’s been pretty quiet(I don’t know if the service issues others have written about how been during a dinner rush?). But the food has always been very good! I’ve had the Eggsplosion burger, Oink and Moo burger, and the Binger Bomber sandwich. All were great! The sidewinder fries are worth the upgrade, and I really enjoyed the potato salad too. A quality restaurant that the east side of Norman desperately needs.

This restaurant is operated by the same family that created Penny Hill in Norman. We went there for the first time tonight. This place is NOT an incarnation of Penny Hill. Penny Hill is an excellent sandwich shop, the Land Run actually multi-tasks. It has a very attractive, comfortable and functional bar, a varied menu including burgers and steaks, and has a definite sports bar theme(a plethora of TV’s with relevant sports content). I had one of the hamburgers tonight, and was surprised, ranks as one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. I will be back. I noticed they have an excellent patio, with a large screen TV. Look forward to watching a game and trying out the bar. This is a new restaurant that I recommend visiting, and is located in the under-served, but deserving SE quadrant of Norman.

First-time visitors. We were promptly seated and served. Megan was great — she kept our drinks filled and provided awesome service. We got the Oink and Moo and the Eggsplosion — both really good! We will definitely return!

Very good meal the pork and brisket tacos were very tender, the queso and chorizo dip was a little thin, looked like they might have thinned it out with some water, wouldn’t order it again, service was good, we will be back to try other things on the menu that looked good.

Incredible food. Fast and attentive service. I recommend the burger that has the chorizo mized in. Its incredible. I had a friend who had a steak who says it was really good as well. Great place, good patio, good service. Nice bar as well!

Where to begin? For a «wine bar» there was a very short list of wines. The one I was served was dead and the bartender reported it had been open 6 weeks. He then graciously offered me a «wine on tap» WHAT? Taster… which came in a shot glass. $ 7 glasses served in wrong glass types, less than 2 ounces. I just don’t think they know anything about wine. Food? Oh my. I believe they ran to wal mart and opened a package. Kids working there were very kind. Two tables walked while we waited and repeatedly asked for our check. Disappointing to say the least!

This is my 3rd time here at Land Run. The first night took extremely long… About two hours. Understandable for opening week. There was something wrong with the POS system. The food was good. Not mind blowing, but good. With each visit service gets a little better. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. I really hope all the kinks get worked out soon. Tips to work on: POS training and timing with drink and order taking. The location is great. There are not a lot of restaurants on this side of town. I will give it some time before I give up on this place… There is defiantly a chance for success here.

Service a bit slow(probably the kitchen — wasn’t really busy anyway for 1pm on a Sunday… hmmm). The burger was good, but the pasta was bland(wasn’t even angel hair as advertised), but the biggest deal was a club sandwich ordered with NO lettuce that came out with lettuce. To fix this, they simply brought it back to the kitchen and removed«most» of the lettuce and brought it back to us(little pieces of lettuce still all over the sandwich and plate– it was the little shredded lettuce). The place is new and clean with pretty cool«Oklahoma» décor with cedar plank walls. We might be back some time later to give them time to improve…

I very seldom give fives, but if I could give a 4.9 I would simply based on the service. Myself and three others had the privilege of trying this place one week after it had opened and left the place thoroughly impressed. After grabbing a seat on the patio, our waitress(Alex) was very quick witted to pick up on my obnoxious personality and fired right back at me(with a smile) on about everything I threw at her. After going with her suggested local Oklahoma brewed beverage and burger, there was not doubt why this place was already getting rave reviews from the locals. The décor is a nice cedar pine cabin feel, yet still elegant enough for you college dudes to take a date there if you want to get all foofy. My only suggestion would be to maybe upgrade the quality of the menu itself. Not as in food on the menu(food was excellent), but literally upgrade the quality of the menu. It put off the vibe of a cheap fast food feel when the price and quality of food was a tad bit above its first impression of the menu. Yes, I know that’s a little dorky, but just want to help this place keep the fan base it needs and wish it the best of luck!

Tried this place for the first time last night and enjoyed it, but it definitely needs some tweaking. I like the casual atmosphere and they have an outdoor patio for outdoor dining. It’s a good place to have a few drinks with friends at the bar, but they also have restaurant seating for those with children. Their prices are really reasonable, especially for drinks. We were there for several hours and our tab was much less than when we normally go out. The service definitely needs some work. Our server had a VERY hard time keeping up with our drink orders and it wasn’t a busy night. I would have been ok if it had only happened once, but after the first round of drinks she was forgetting someone’s order on every repeat trip. Their food is good and definitely worth coming back for! We started off with the Plowman’s platter(i.e. meat and cheese plate) and an order of the simple nachos. They brought the platter out on two wooden cutting boards shaped like Oklahoma. One of the boards had the cheese, meat, and fruit and the other had the bread and crackers. The assortment of meats and cheeses was good and it was definitely quality. The simple nachos consisted of tortilla chips covered in a three cheese blend and melted. I would have liked the cheese to be a little more melted when they came out, but the nachos were tasty and had some sort of spice sprinkled on top which added flavor and just a little heat. For dinner, I ordered the grilled PB&J with mac and cheese as my side. For an additional $ 1.25 you can add green chilies and bacon and it is worth it! The grilled pb&j was good and took me back to my childhood. My husband ordered the Cubano sandwich and loved it! He said it was one of the best he’s ever had and he’s picky when it comes to his sandwiches. He ordered fried okra as his side and he said it wasn’t good. It was under cooked and pretty bland. Overall, I think this place is a welcome addition to Norman, but could use a few easy tweaks to make it truly great.
