Don’t go here to get keys cut. Cut 2 of the same keys one works other doesn’t.If you do get keys make sure to save receipt. They will not give refund without receipt only new key which probably will not work either.

I went in to get a few things for the house. I had no idea what I was doing, since it was our first home. Luckily, the present staff helped me purchase everything I needed! Great place.

I have been coming here for over 5 years. The staff have always been the best part about this place. Friendly and very helpful. Glad to have a place like this a few blocks from my house.

Dissappointed. =(Been shopping @ this store for many years. A nice employee was helping me with some questions on a Weber grill .They had signs posted on the grills saying ‘no sales tax’. So I picked one out! So excited to finally splurge on a higher end grill. The young man David W explains Sorry these are old signs can’t do it. So ***** it its Fathers Day gift and I want to surprise my guy, I decide to go for it. I ask him OK now I’m not gonna find it less expensive somewhere else right? He assures me with confidence NO! Normally when I make a higher end purchase I shop around, but as I trust this store I just buy it. He also tells me if I did that they would do a price match. Sure enough I get home and find the exact same model new for 78.00 less. I call and speak with David and he tells me Sorry I can’t do it, its too much. Says can only do a price match if its Home Depot or Lowes. (thats not what you told me in the store). So then I speak with Larry the owner. I explain the whole scenario all over again and he’s like ‘Oh well Sorry’. Really sad because I’ve been a loyal customer here for years and Id honestly rather give my $ to the smaller guy than the big-​box companies. Having my own small business I know how it is. In my business I bend over backwards for my customers, cause in the end they pay my bills. I think its a shame to lose a customer who actually really loved shopping at your store. I guess its getting harder and harder to find that good old customer service. Really sad I won’t be shopping here anymore. God Bless.

Just moved nearby and with the Super Bowl blizzard, my snow blower decided not to cooperate. I searched nearby and found this Ace in Norridge, made 4 early morning phone calls to them and a MIRACLE, Bill came out to pick up my snow blower about 30 minutes after I called. How amazing is that? I feel like this store is like the «old Marshall Fields», what fabulous people on the phone, Elisa answered about 10 questions for me, so sweet and nice. Bill was a true delight and so professional and friendly.
I am so thankful for these people and plan on having a long time relationship with them at this store.

We finally finished a huge kitchen project thanks to this specific location!
Initially we went back and forth to another location trying to screw in finishing touches. This Lawrence location new what our problem was right away and problem solved with their expertise. Thank you!
Probably won’t be going to the other location, which we shall not speak of.

I dont think Ace Hardware has changed in 30 years. It still feels like the same place I went into to get my first apartment keys made waaaaay back in the day. I picked up an online order and they gave m a receipt on green and white lined computer paper with the perforated and holed edges. Ha!
They have a decent selection of your basic hardware store stuff. I can always find the light bulbs I need and miscellaneous nuts and bolts. They will take used light bulbs for recycling too. Bonus!

I thought home depot was bad until I went here to buy a lawn mower. I finally left after 20 minutes waiting for someone to help me take a mower down from the shelf. I asked the girl at the front for help and she was paging people but that didn’t help either. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I’m constantly coming here for basic home improvement stuff and I’m constantly disappointed in them. They’re definitely more expensive than a big box stores. They usually don’t have things I need in stock or can’t cut keys for me that work. But they’re so close so I just go there anyways. I’m stuck in a bad cycle I can’t get out of. Help.

Just bought our first snow blower from here. When I called in earlier in the day for a stock check, I was promptly transferred to someone who knew what they were talking about. When we went into the store, we were promptly greeted by someone who was helpful and knowledgeable. And they had the model in stock. They also offered to put the snow blower together (attach the handle, etc) but my car isn’t big enough so they had one of their guys just help us load it into the car. I would have given them 5 stars but this was our first visit so time will tell if I upgrade my review.

This hardware store has everything you need to fix your house or garden. You could also have extra keys made and fill your porpain tanks for your grill up. The employees are really helpful and dont treat you like an idiot
