I shop here 1 – 4 times per week depending on what is broken at my house :)
All of the staff is incredibly helpful. If one doesn’t know the solution to a problem, you can bet he or she will ask someone that does.

I am puzzled over the one star reviews. This place is well run and the guys very knowledgeable. Prices are ok. I go nuts in Home Depot trying to find stuff as it is so darn big, I spend an hour trying to find something and one minute to buy it. There is a horrible horrible
ACE hardware on Harlem and Diversey. The owner needs to keep
an eye on his tall employee who practically chases people out the door with his laziness. Awful. It could be better if he fired everyone and
stocked the store better. In the meantime, I drive all the way over to
Harlem and Foster for a real hardware store.

What a waste of time.
I was there two hours before closing on American Express Small Business Day to get $ 25 special.
Turns out this store could not process any credit cards.

Great friendly staff that have lots of helpful hints and know where I can find every little thing from a drain attachment for my dishwasher to chain for my fence to a thermocouple for my furnace. I spend way too much money here (of course my house is freakin old). I’d give them five stars but they’re so much more damn expensive than Home Depot!

Positive: Good selection and can find just about everything you need.
Negative: Customer service resembles that of Home Depot. Prices are High. Cashiers are brutally lifeless almost to a point where they come off as rude.
I don’t mind paying higher prices for mom and pop businesses like this, however I do expect to be blown away by friendly and helpful staff. It is identical to Home Depot: you have to find someone and ask for help and the personality and attitude of the cashiers is well below par.

This Hardware store is Great. They are always very helpful, and it is a family owned business to my knowldege. I go here all the time and would recomend it over other hardware stores in the area. Easy parking, and fair price, and helpful staff.

This is a good local hardware store. It is a rather small store (even though they doubled the size of the store a few years ago), however, they tend to have a pretty nice selection of items. This is the place to go to when you have a household repair.

This is one of the smaller Ace’s located in the Foster/​Harlem strip mall that is known mostly for the Jewel/​Osco and Burlington Coat Factory. It will gladly make keys for you and sells as much hardware supplies as they can fit in this store. It’s amazing how much you can pack in a store like this. For the larger items you need you may want to visit another location or order online.
