Ok service, ok food. Horrible hours. They basically closed whenever they felt like it, nothing but lazy people running the place. I drive passed it every now and then but this is the first I’m seeing that they closed up. Not surprised!

Ohhh Wee-Dee’s how I wanted to like you so much more. I hate ragging on places with good service and Wee Dee’s is one of those places. The guy taking my order was very nice and even asked how my food was when I was eating it. So for the two stars… The food here is just not good at all. My hot dog has no flavor and the cheese stix were just ok. The prices are also much higher then other hot dog spots I have been to. If it is cold outside every time someone opens the door you freeze. This place is spot on staff wise but can use some better quality food.

I like this place. It has a pretty elaborate menu for your lunch and dinner needs. The staff is friendly and responsive and the food is priced reasonably. I haven’t tried them myself but my gf loves the gyros.

EDIT: 12÷16÷13 + change in review rating On our last night in Chicagoland before moving to Des Moines, we decided that Chicago-style hot dogs were in order. Only a few hundred feet away from our home is the North Aurora Wee-Dee’s, so it was an easy choice. Three Chicago hot dogs and a large fry. Simple enough, but they couldn’t execute that. The hot dogs were cold and had the most stale buns I have ever been served by any restaurant. They should have been thrown away days ago, but I guess the high school kids making the food couldn’t be bothered to inspect the food for freshness. It was completely inedible, even for prisoners. Mad, I packed everything up and went back – a refund or fresh(er) food was in order. After another wait for new(er) hot dogs, I got my new food with a, «hope you like these better…» Better than the stale, cold ones from 15 minutes ago? Yes, the bar has been set very low. Returning home I found not only three more cold hot dogs on not much fresher buns, but also hot dogs that might have been cooking since Thanksgiving. Not sure how you can make a hot dog so hard and rubbery, but if that’s your thing, then Wee-Dee’s is your joint. Well, I would not feel good about recommending this place any longer. Since the original owners sold, this place has gone down hill fast. It’s too bad. At this rate, I can’t see how they stay in business in this competitive food location in North Aurora. A very disappointing last dinner in Chicago, that’s for sure. Literally left a bad taste in my mouth. I need a mint.

Really friendly staff and good food. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The burger did not have much flavor but fresh bacon and vegetables did it good. The fries came out unflavored no salt, no seasoning. Would like to see a option for seasoned fries. I also tried their popcorn chicken. Which is delicious and had bold flavor. Cooked perfectly, with great portions Id recommend the hot dogs, and gyros, they seem to be the best choice. Very hard to do those wrong, but the people, the location and the atmosphere make for a pretty good hot dog joint. Look forward to trying more items.

I’m new to the area and decided to try this place out. I went through the drive thru and ordered a gyro and fries. It was really good! I had to wait for it to be cooked for about 5 – 10 minutes. I could see how this could be a problem with a drive thru on a busy day, but I was the only one in line, so no worries. Will definitely be back!

Something was clearly wrong. This place draws a huge crowd and I have heard from many people how great it is. Last night was my first visit and it was very bad. They were very crowded and the drive thru took priority over everyone in the dining room. The television was so loud you couldn’t even hear the cashier. But it only gets worse. We ordered three entrees and a soup which took over 20 minutes to receive. The fried chicken sandwich was burnt to a crisp. The french roll for the meatball sandwich was sliced all the way through so the sandwich fell apart. The grilled cheese sandwich was possibly the smallest I had ever seen(although not expensive) and the cheese wasn’t even melted. The soup was great but took an extra 7 minutes after receiving the entrees. Clearly something was wrong last night. I’d give it another shot if they are not crowded, but the rest of my family shall never return.

I came here about a week ago and it was my first time ever. I recently started working in North Aurora and had been hitting up different spots each day searching for some satisfying grub to make my go-to spot when I finally came across Wee-Dee’s. My first time there I wasn’t sure what to get, as their menu is pretty deep, and settled on the grilled chicken sandwich combo lunch special. It did take kinda a long time to get my food, but chalk that up to the fact that it’s made right then and there(and not discarded from it’s plastic and slapped into a microwave by a full grown man-clown wearing a red wig) and didn’t hold it too much against them. When I did get my food about 10 minutes later I found the fries to be straight-out-the-fryer hot and perfectly salted. Delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich was bigger than I expected, but for the price I ended up paying for it(around 7⁄8 bucks) it was worth it. As for the flavor, it was moderately ok, I’ve tasted better, but the size and fries(ha.spontaneous rhyming is fun) made up for it. I also got a soup there, the corn chowder and I could not recommend this enough! Sooo good, and apparently they’re home made. So that was my first time there, and it was definitely enough to bring me back. My second time there, which was the next day, I encountered a new worker on the intercom when I ordered and I explained how I wasn’t sure exactly what to get. Her name was Robin, and she suggested the gyro. I have never been a gyro fan my whole life, and rarely ever tried them, but she insisted I did and even went so far as to offer me a big piece of the gyro meat(that she had put on the grill on her own accord) along with some cucumber sauce for when I would pull up at the window after I had finished ordering. I went ahead and decided to give it a whirl, and soon put in my order of the 2 hot dog lunch combo and pulled up. Not only did Robin give me the gyro to try, she also kindly gave me some pretzels that a friend of hers had made and that she brought to work. She did not have to do this, but she went above and beyond her typical job duties and really showed some outstanding customer service. I was genuinely surprised at how awesome she was for someone who works the intercom at a food establishment. Usually you get jaded folks spitting at you from the other side, but not Robin, she was truly a class act and probably one of the biggest reasons I’ll return to Wee-Dee’s in the future. After munching on the pretzels, which were delicious, she brought out the gyro meat for me to try… that’s when my life changed forever. ITWASAWESOME! And I repeat, that is coming from someone who has ALWAYSHATEDGYROS for as long as I could remember. It seriously was the best I’ve ever tried and made me change my stance on gyros forever. If you didn’t run off after seeing how long this review is and are in fact reading this, heed my advice: TRYTHEGYROATWEE-DEE’S! You will not be disappointed. Like their chicken sandwich, it was HUGE, I mean I had the thing for lunch and dinner, and it came with some awesomeee cucumber sauce that was unlike any I’ve ever tasted(I guess they make that there too). Bottom line is, Wee-Dee’s is pretty freakin’ good as far as everything goes. Yes, you might have to wait a little bit for your food to be done, but believe me, it’s worth it. I have officially found my lunch spot for work, and will be a long time customer as long as nothing changes there. Unless it’s promoting Robin, because that woman is a gem!

pretty good lil dog/gyro joint. I came on Tues when they had free drink w/the burger purchase. I got the bacon burger w/everything… the burger itself was VERY tasty off the grill, tasted fresh and was a good thickness. Bacon was so-so. The fries are pretty good, if not slightly greasy for being fresh. Their menu is huge for being a small place. Of course a lot of it revolves around the fryer. I had a dog previously and it was good(though as others mentioned, not a poppy seed bun). Fairly cramped place… but there’s about 8 or 9 booths/tables and some seating outside. Got a tv playing sports and music playing. People running the joint are pretty great. Coke products. they have breakfast items too, though I haven’t tried that yet. Prices are pretty competitive w/similar joints. The daily deals are a good price if you are there those days. nice local place… I’ll be coming back again!

Wee-Dee’s is located off of Randall Road in North Aurora. Sporting Red Hot Chicago umbrellas on the outside I thought I would stop in and give it a try. I decided to try their hot dog and fries. Within a few minutes my food was brought out to me. The first thing I noticed about the hot dog itself was that it did not include a poppy seed bun. The bun itself felt like it came right out of a package, it wasn’t exactly soft and also felt cold, it didn’t appear there was any attempt to steam the bun made. The hot dog itself felt a bit over-steamed with some of the flavor missing from it. There was far too much neon green relish on it, the pickle was cut too thick and was too sour, I even got a jelly bean shaped sport pepper on it. The mustard and onions were at least properly applied, and there did not appear to be a trace of celery salt. The fries were bland thick fries, the outside was crispy but the inside didn’t have a nice soft potato paste like most good fries do. These weren’t so great either. Overall Wee-Dee’s is a poor representation of a Chicago Style Hot dog. The dog I received had way too much relish which overpowered the rest of the flavor of the dog, the bun wasn’t steamed, the pickle was too large. I can’t recommend this place.

I have been getting my nails done next door to Wee-Dees for a year now. Stopped in for the first time last week. Wow. What an awesome menu for a good price. I have been looking for a place to get good chili cheese fries, and I found it! My husband had a Gyro and was very impressed. I had the rueben and loved it! The owners were manning the kitchen, counter and drive-thru. They have a great sense of humor, it felt like we were regulars that first time. I highly recommend you go to their restaurant and enjoy the food and the atmosphere!

After a bad gyro experience at BC’s sandwiches in Aurora, I was on a search for good gyros. My search ended at Wee-Dee’s. Unilocalers did not steer me wrong. :) I’ve been there three times, and the gyro meat is always warm and has those crispy edges that I like. They aren’t stingy with the tatsiki(sp) sauce either. I haven’t tried anything else there(I’m just so happy to have found good gyros) so they get 4⁄5 stars for now.

Below average at best. Went here and got a hot dog, gyros and a Burger. The gyros were OK but how can you mess that up. The hot dog and Burger was bad. It made me nauseous. Haven’t been back since.

I ducked in here right quick to get my girl a hot dog while she was at the vet a couple doors down with the cat.(Nothing for myself, I wasn’t hungry.) The tall guy at the counter was very nice to me, and I witnessed him checking up on other customers while I was there. The gf she said that she was hungry, so i got her a double dog with everything(except tomatoes). They hooked her up good with the sport peppers — which she loved. She said that the bun was weaksauce though.

Wee Dee’s has just about every food you would look for at a fast food restaurant. They take the classics and do them right. I especially like their french fries and pizza puffs. Wee Dee’s is about a mile away from my house and my husband and I visit a couple times a month. On a funny note, my family and I went to Wee Dee’s on my wedding day, so it will always hold a special place in my heart!

OMG!!! GOHERE!!! I swear that if I come back home in May and this place is out of business, I will likely cry, pout, and cry some more. I went here on the suggestion of a close friend. They said«Wow, this place has HUGE Gyros! Try it!!» SO I did. The gyro was litterally the size of an 8 year old child. OK, maybe a little smaller, but it was still the biggest gyro I’ve ever seen! I sat in amazement for a few minutes before diving in, but as soon as I took that first bite I fell SO in love. So I came back to california thinking I was set to go for… well, ever. BUT tonight I got another hankering for some delicious gyros. So to Extreme Pita I went. BADIDEA. This gyro not only cost me $ 3 more than a Gyro Platter @ Wee Dees but it also has less than half the meat(and I ordered extra). Highly disappointed. SOPLEASE go here so I can enjoy this place on everytrip I take back to North Aurora. It’s heaven in your mouth. (NOTE: I can not vouch for anything other than the Gyro as that’s all I’ve had here)

Had lunch with the hubby here today, after he picked me up from getting a pedicure next door at tips 2 toes :) They were quite busy, which was a good sign, but the dining room is kinda small. It probably only seats about 15 people comfortably. Some outdoor seating available, but seasonal… of course. There are no servers, so there is no need to tip! A guy sits behind the counter and takes your order. When your order is ready, you just go up to the counter and pick up your food. The wait is pretty quick, less than 5 minutes. They also have a drive-thru or if you want, you could call in orders ahead of time. Menu is extensive… dogs, gyros, burgers, salads, soups, sandwiches, and on, and on, and on! My husband had a double cheeseburger meal and I had a chesseburger meal. The meals included fries(small portion) and a fountain drink(free refills). My husband and I both agreed that the burgers were really good. The veggies were fresh and the burger juicy. Fries were good too. We only spent $ 10.59, including tax! I would choose eating here instead of mcdonald’s, wendy’s, or burger king any day. Can’t wait to go back and try other items on their menu. If I were basing my review on the food, service, and atmosphere alone, I would be giving this place 5 stars. The reason why I’m only giving it 4 stars is because the bathrooms had a horrible smell and weren’t as clean as they should be.

Finally, the Gyro has come back to North Aurora! Opening Night was(4÷15÷09) and we just had to, which totally breaks my two month rule for going to new spots but given this is a very small location(mostly drive-thru and carry-out) but with 8 – 10 tables inside we were in the mood for carry-out. The menu is massive. This is finally a typical Chicago-style«hot dog joint» in our town and they are actually carving the gyros in the back. We ordered two gyro platters(includes fries and drink) for $ 6.95 and the fries were crispy and hot and you get more gyro meat than humanly can be eaten. We also ordered a cheesy beef and it was very good as well. Plenty to go back and try but I wish them all the luck. It’s a tough location in that it’s not easy/quick to get in and out and the previous place failed pretty quickly but these guys knew what they were doing when they took the order and the food was fantastic. Looks like they have another location in South Elgin too. Happy times in our household!!!
