Had to take 12 of us to a nice place for dinner and nearby, and BRIO was my suggestion. Most of the guys were first timer at and they just loved everything. Started with the fabulous Spicy Shrimp & Eggplant, Calamari, and the Brochettes. Awesome! I followed that with Crab & Shrimp Encrusted Salmon. Deliishhhhh So, if you got a craves for some great Tuscan food, head to BRIO…

This was my second time at a Brio restaurant and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised twice in a row. My first experience was at the Tyson’s Corner location and my second experience was here in Bethesda. I was initially nervous as the restaurant was completely empty. Save for two other guests there at the time, we were the only ones there. I figured this must be due to the cold rainy Sunday. Whatever the reason, I quickly looked past it once the delicious appetizer came: the margarita flatbread. Yum! How could so much flavor be packed into such simple ingredients? Cheesy, flaky goodness all in one app with plenty to go around for four people(about two squares per person). My main course is what tipped the scale to four stars. While the table bread and appetizer were both noteworthy, the grilled chicken(off the lean menu) was delicious. I have my doubts that it was truly under 500 calories as it packed a heavy filling punch with mashed potatoes, relatively rich gravy/sauce and grilled/sautéed veggies. But, it was very tasty and I couldn’t finish the whole thing. Oh and to top it off, the cappuccino was delicious too! Definitely a great place to return for families and casual outings.

I really enjoy this place. They catered my job’s holiday party and we always order from them for office birthdays, new hires, etc. Their food is amazing and the staff is really nice. I had one unpleasant experience but the manager stepped in and rectified it immediately. They do a great job at catering to dietary needs and never complain about modifying any dish. I love the chopped salad, it’s large enough to eat as a light meal. I usually add a chopped hard boiled egg for protein. The pasta pesto is good too along with the Pesto Chicken & Quinoa Salad, I’ve ordered both sans chicken. My favorite dish is the Fettuccine Rustica. I’ve found the perfect modification and it taste heavenly!

This was our first time here. We ordered out for delivery and they ran about 45 minutes late from their predicted ETA. The vodka/pancetta pasta was very tasty. However, the angel hair pesto had no pesto whatsoever. It was like a line cook forgot to add the pesto, making it the blandest dish I think I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It must have been a mistake. I find it hard to believe that they would serve a dish like that knowingly. So maybe the regular pesto pasta is the bees knees. Who knows. The bread was actually remarkably good.

We were here for the second time on NYE, and had a great experience. We were seated for our reservation right away, and let our server know my husband’s food allergies. She brought over Alex, who made sure he understood what my husband could and could not have, and offered to make substitutions on one of the entrees. We both got chopped salads, and he had salmon, and I had the crab and shrimp cakes. Our entrees were hot, with a generous amount of vegetables. Really delicious. And we love the bread and crackers. As busy a night as it was, our service was attentive and prompt, and our food exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to our next visit!

Decent spot, but not one to rave about. I wasn’t really impressed with the food. I’d compare it to Olive Garden. lower quality, less authentic Italian food. It’s just OK. Nothing unique. I went on a Friday evening for dinner. We had a table of 7 and each got different dishes to share. I would say the best part of my meal was the wedge side salad, which was the starter.

Love this location much more than the Tysons corner one. The food and service is much better! I actually only went in because I was in a pinch. The wait was too long in the surrounding restaurants so I went to Brio and they were able to accomodate me. I actually ended up being so happy I did!!! I ordered what I usually order which is the chicken ceasar salad. Sooo delish — the chicken was super fresh, the lettuce was crisp and so fresh and the dressing was the best tasting ceasar dressing I’ve tasted to date. The croutons were so crunchy and not the slightest bit stale or soggy. The server also made me feel so comfortable about me eating alone at a table. Sometimes they can make you feel akward when you’re eating alone and not sitting at the bar. Definitely recommend!

I was here for a Christmas party. I had a lot of things and was not able to take photos of everything(sadly). I can say I enjoyed everything I had and was extremely impressed with the spacious restaurant and the great customer service!

This was my first time here and I was shocked by how amazing the service was. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and he helped pace our meal; the soups and salads came out within 2 minutes of the order being placed. The beef carpaccio came out fresh and delicious. It’s a large serving and was perfect to share among the three of us. Our entrees came out a few minutes after we polished off the appetizers. Best dish was the mushroom ravioli but it is slightly on the heavy side. Overall 5⁄5 for food and service. I’m hoping to come back soon with more friends!

I came here for a late dinner. The server was friendly and cracked some jokes. Our waters were filled often and we were checked up on a few times. The crispy flatbread they bring out at the beginning in the basket is really flavorful! We got the chopped salad. It was good for a salad, flavorful and there was a good amount of cheese which I really like! We got the margarita flatbread. This was good, but we asked for a side of marinara and that added a lot to the flatbread! The marinara was good, it was chunky and slightly sweet. The flatbread was nice and crispy. We also ordered the fried calamari. This was really good calamari, there were also fried spicy peppers… which I didn’t know and was a surprise when there was spice, but then eating those with the calamari was really good. I dipped the calamari in the marinara sauce too. I would definitely come back!

Brio gets only 3 stars from me because for the price and quality, the portions are small and expensive. The chicken risotto was good, but the lunch side portion was not nearly filling enough. Their salad was delicious, though. I believe we had a chef’s salad(it was my aunt’s choice, not mine). Overall, the meal was just so-so, the ambiance night but over the top for the quality of service and food. It reminds me of The Cheesecake Factory in many ways. Again, the food was good, but be prepared to overpay for the portion sizes and food itself. It’s good, but not THAT good.

This place has tremendous potential but flawed execution at every step. We stood at the hostess station for almost 5 minutes before we were acknowledged. After we were seated we ordered drinks but despite the menu advertising craft beers, ask your server, I did and he said they didn’t have any all they had was Bud and Miller Light. We ordered and despite only 10% of the tables being in use, simple dishes took an exceptionally long time to arrive and when they did our entrees arrived before my soup and Winnie’s salad. My entrée, should be simple for an Italian Restaurant, Spaghetti and Meat sauce. The Pasta was swimming in sauce. Almost soup like. The restaurant is well decorated but service and overall execution stink.

I went on a Saturday night solo, needing some much-needed self time. I opted to eat at the bar in lieu of a 30 minute wait, and sat at one of the comfy soft chairs right across the bar. Had a delicious dinner of the«classic» bolognese meat sauce, and got bread. The food was all delicious, no complaints there. The service was pretty good, too, but a few other waiters were confused and didn’t follow through with my requests(more bread, Parmesan cheese). I had to keep following up. This was also out of Brio’s control, but the family next to me were so annoying. They kept stomping the floor and distracting me from my meal, and moved around so fast. They could have learnt some manners. Perhaps Brio could not control their behavior, but maybe they could have asked them to take it down a notch. Overall, kind of disorganized and scattered service, but my waitress was really sweet. Would I come again? Probably. The Tyson’s location is a bit more convenient to the metro, though. It could’ve been a bit better, but it could also have been much worse.

After returning from my overseas trip, I remember receiving an email from Brio Rewards offering $ 10 off $ 40. Also, I’ve been craving Italian cuisine for awhile. After going to get my eyes checked at TLC, I became super hungry. Brio Tuscan Grille is located in North Bethesda Market off Rockville Pike. Brio offers hearty and healthy lunch entrees under $ 15. For lunch, I ordered the following:(1) Arnold Palmer,(2) Grilled Salmon Fresca,(3) Mezza Chicken Limone, and(4) Mezza Chicken Under The Brick. The Arnold Palmer consisted of half tea and half lemonade. I liked how it was refreshing, sweet, but not tart. The Grilled Salmon Fresca consisted of grilled salmon served over grilled asparagus, roasted sweet potatoes, spinach, red peppers, pesto vinaigrette, feta, tomatoes, and drizzled with balsamic glaze. In all honesty, it was weird mix of flavors. I don’t think pesto and balsamic vinegar go together. The Mezza Chicken Limone aka Chicken Piccata consisted of egg battered chicken in a white wine, lemon and capers sauce. It was served with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. The sauce had the right amount of lemon in it. It would have been nice to have the sauce over the mashed potatoes. Due to its taste consistency, I’d say this is my all time favorite entrée at Brio. The Mezza Chicken Under The Brick consisted of charcoal crusted chicken in mushroom Marsala sauce. Like most entrees, it also came with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.

Although I’m not a chain fan, I can say I was impressed. I came for dinner with my brother. The ambiance was beautiful and refreshing. Our waiter Brian, was as nice as he could be. The bread was lovely. It was fresh and hot. I started with a wedge salad. It was twice the expected size, and I ate every bite. The chef was kind enough to add lobster to my, ’ Shrimp Mediterranean.” I was more than happy. I left with a smile. Next time I will start my evening on the beautiful patio. I look forward to returning and tryiing more of the menu.

This is a 3 star– nothing exciting and nothing disappointing. I wouldn’t think that anything here really resembles authentic Italian food — but it’s decent American food with a subtle nod to Italian food. I had their version of chicken marsala which needed way more mushrooms as that was the only flavorful aspect of the dish. I got the feeling that the recipes are very formulaic and boring in the kitchen. My husband got a chicken dish with roasted peppers which was more flavorful than mine. I don’t want to knock this place because they did nothing wrong… it’s just that I know there is so much more exciting food to try in the same area. There really isn’t anything Italian or Tuscan about this place. It’s more like a smaller scale Cheesecake Factory.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday around 2… Made reservations from my hair salon thinking it would be crowded, boy was I wrong! My bf was already there and as I’m escorted to our table, there had to literally be only 5 other groups… I’m thinking oh nice to know its a quiet relaxing lunch spot with great food, that was def not this time We had the calamari app, eh disappointing! So chewy and the crunch was soggy… Not wanting another disappoint I get a salad, Salmon salad was average but good no complaints! My boyfriend got the crab cake entrée and it was sooo small, like child size. No where near filling and last but not least we asked our server for his strawberry lemonade twice and gave up on it lol Nevertheless food was bland and service slow, can you imagine if it was busy?! I guess that’s why it not :/

It was an okay experience. Much better dining experience then Carrabba’s though. I would recommend some coat racks or hooks by the booths. There is no place to put your coats. The service was pretty good. For appetizers, the Beef Carpaccio is an eye catcher but it lacked seasoning. A little salt helped a lot. The spicy shrimp & eggplant was inedible for me because it was too salty. I wasn’t too thrilled about my entrée — the Pasta Alla Vodka. I asked for jumbo shrimp as a topper, but got really small shrimp. Now, the reason why I didn’t rate this lower was my wife’s dish. She got the Strip steak and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. So, the next time I come back here, I will skip the appetizers and just order the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina.

Came here with a party of 8. We had reservations so we didn’t have to wait but there was definitely a line so make reservations if you’ll be coming on Friday/Saturday dinners! Our waiter was phenomenal and even humorous. The service was fast and our food came out fairly quickly(but not to the point that it was sketchy). The best part about this restaurant for me was that it served GLUTENFREEPASTA! Granted, there were only 3 types of GF pasta available, but that’s 3 more than most other Italian restaurants. I had the pasta pomodoro and it was simple but delicious. Loved the soft garlic and cilantro sauce additions to the tomato paste. Not to mention, the gf pasta didn’t taste chalky or dry at all! I tried my friend’s Brio pasta sauce and it was pretty good as well, though a bit on the heavier side compared to the pomodoro. We had bought a dozen Georgetown cupcakes and had asked our waiter to serve them after the meal. He brought each cupcake out on separate plates and placed on top of red cloths that made the cupcakes look even more beautiful. We appreciated the effort and thought and offered him a cupcake, which he accepted :) The ambience and décor makes Brio a perfect spot for both family gatherings and date nights. It isn’t too loud or too quiet. And though I couldn’t eat the complementary soft bread or the crispy crackers offered before meals, they looked delicious. If I had to name an aspect I didn’t like it would be that the parking in this area can get quite atrocious. But other than that, I love Brio!

HAPPYHOURREVIEWONLY: This immediate area, which is next to whole foods, is arguably the best place for cheap HH north of Bethesda proper and has great options including Paladar, Brio, and Seasons 52. Yes… I know that they are all either national or local chain restaurants, but considering many places don’t even have happy hour in the Rockville area, I think these are some good options that are nearby. My top dish during happy hour is the beef carpaccio. You get a full plate of this for $ 4. You can’t top this in the Rockville area for the price you pay! My other favorites are: Black pepper shrimp-pan seared shrimp in a very creamy sauce($ 6) Crispy eggplant fries– eggplant strips that are battered and fried($ 4) Drinks specials are $ 5-$ 6 and include wine, martini, and other cocktails. Take a look at my pic. That’s under $ 20 and you get 4 full plates. You can’t complain.
