Every time I have gone to cracker barrel it has been crazy busy but our food arrived quickly, the service was great and the dumplins can’t be beat!

Blah… cold gravy on my chicken fried steak. Small amount of hashbrown casserole. Upside was the greens had flavor and coffee was hot. My sons burger was a prefabricated hockey puck that tasted like vulcanized rubber. With so many other mediocre places to choose from we won’t be back

You know… I don’t often walk into a restaurant and walk back out, but I did today. Cracker Barrel is already an assault on my senses with its loud, cafeteria-like atmosphere and sardine-like seating. The hostess today sat our party of four at a table on the aisle. The man in the adjoining table was so big that his chair position made it impossible for even the smallest person in our party to sit at the table without putting the table in the aisle. His seat back was jammed up to the back of the chair at our adjoining table, he was so big. This cannot be helped but what cam be helped is the hostess’ attitude about the situation: The hostess didn’t even flinch, though it was undeniably obvious we couldn’t sit at that table. She dropped the menus and walked away with better things to do. We returned to the hostess stand and though annoyed, she found us another table. This one was somewhat better, but that improvement was short-lived. We sat down again and were immediately met with a server passing by with her rear in my face. RIGHT. IN. MY. FACE. The tables were so close together it couldn’t be helped. That’s the last straw… And we left. I’ve eaten here plenty and often leave with the, «why do I come here again?» feeling. The food seems mass prepared and the hashbrown casserole is good only of you’re lucky enough to get one right out of the oven. Flavorless gravy, dry eggs… I’m over this place and off to find something better.

For a franchise the folks at Cracker Barrel N Canton need to learn a thing or two. We waited for quite a while after we were seated for Coffee and water. Several waitstaff walk past us focused on no eye contact clearly showing«not my job attitude » Tye server came and knew it wasn’t her fault She was slammed. The food came out eggs over easy broken yokes running. My wife was served med rare bacon W

This Cracker Barrel brings back fond memories of eating at a Cracker Barrel with my grandparents, browsing the interesting gadgets in the gift shop. While the restaurant and shop don’t quite match with my idealized memories, the food is cozy and comforting. No complaints about the service or the value of the meal.

Definitely not the place to go on Thanksgiving. The place was packed, we could hardly get in the door to give our name and start our 30 minute wait for a table. We spent most of our wait outside in the cold because movement inside was nearly impossible. When our name was called it wasn’t easy to make our way to the hostess desk and that turned into another wait. Quit frankly I think if the fire marshal had been there he/she would have moved a lot of people outside. It really didn’t feel safe. Our waitress was at our table the second we sat down before we had a chance to open our menus and was a little irritated that we weren’t ready to order. She took our drink order and quickly returned with our drinks. When we asked about the Thanksgiving special her irritation returned. I really hope her attitude was just a matter of being overwhelmed by the huge crowd and not her everyday disposition. Our food was brought out by someone other than our waitress, this person, even though hurried, was pleasant. The time between placing our order and getting our food was surprisingly short. When eating out I want hot food items to be served HOT, our food was tepid at best. I opted for the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread dressing and biscuits. The meatloaf was a nice generous slice, not dry at all(I hate dry meatloaf) and good flavored. The mashed potatoes portion was kind of small and the flavor and texture was ordinary. The gravy too was nothing special. The green beans were generously portioned, over cooked and overly salty. The cornbread dressing(The most important part of any Thanksgiving meal for me.) was disappointing, bland and mushy. The biscuits were under baked and tasted like raw flour. I have to say the dining room staff showed great teamwork, from being served our meal quickly, to getting drink refills, to clearing dishes and serving desert! Kudos!!! Our waitress even apologized for her earlier inattentiveness upon presenting the check. The biggest fail here was the kitchen staff for sending out poorly prepared, poorly heated and poorly presented food. Unfortunately, they failed to rise to the occasion of preparing a quality meal on a busy holiday. This was my very first visit to Cracker Barrel. Even though it wasn’t a positive experience on this Thanksgiving day, I would give them another chance on a different day.

It was mediocre at best. My steak was tender, but overcooked and lacked seasoning. The«famous» dumplings were flavorless and sort of gluey. The rice pilaf was chewy. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good.

Not a bad Cracker Barrel. My family and I were there on a Thursday morning around 9am and it wasn’t crazy busy. Our server was friendly and our order came out correct. The bathrooms and store area were clean and they always have a variety of Ohio state items as well as kids cloths.

I love this place. Large fireplace in the dining room, sweet tea, and the best pancakes ever. The syrup tastes like candy. I ate here a few days ago while on layover. My favorite thing to do when I visit is sit in the rocking chairs on the porch in front of the restaurant and rock on the chairs.

My favorite place to eat! Love the atmosphere and the home-cooked taste of the food. I haven’t had any food there that I didn’t like(except for the stuffing, not the best I tasted, by far). There is an occasional ‘wait time’, but the shopping area helps that time pass. :-)

Food was very good and the portions were large. We got exactly what we ordered and they gave me no issue with sharing with my kids. The ladies working in the shop were nice/kind/helpful.

My parents and grandparents love Cracker Barrel, I think its ok. While it serves lunch and dinner I mainly think of it as a place for breakfast. Most breakfast options come with cheesy hashbrown casserole, biscuits, gravy, and grits. If you love those things you will probably like Cracker Barrel more than I do. The pancakes are delicious. The syrup and bacon are great. The regular sausage has strange seasoning and that it taste non-sausage like. For a more traditional sausage taste go for the turkey sausage or links. Expect a wait on weekends. Service is generally good. The country store is fun, lots of old-fashioned candies, gifts, candles and clothes. I go to Cracker Barrel when I have to. I much prefer other places.
