One of our favorite pizza places, we go very often. The kids love it and we love the specials they offer!

I met the Uncle Maddio’s team recently at the Carolina Children’s Charity 5K in Hanahan. They sponsored the race and came out with coupons, koozies, and goodies for everyone. A couple weeks later when I was craving pizza, I decided to support them since they sponsored that race. Uncle Maddio’s model is pretty fun concept– you pick out what toppings you want on your pizza and they fire it up for you right there. Or, you can pick from some of their menu choices. They have tons of toppings to choose from including toppings I haven’t seen in other pizza restaurants, like zucchini, eggplant, jerk chicken, and tofu. You can also choose from a variety of cheeses and sauces as well as dough(including whole wheat and gluten free). I got a 9-inch pizza on traditional dough with tomato basil sauce, and I chose sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and black olives for my toppings. The pizza maker added the sauce, tomatoes and spinach first, then the cheese, then the black olives, then placed my pizza in the oven. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, but I’d say I waited about 6 – 7 minutes for my pizza. I grabbed a to-go paper plate(what a great idea– more pizza places should do this!) and headed home with my pizza. With the aroma of my pizza in the car seat, it barely made it home. It smelled so good and was very delicious. They have some great lunch specials, as well as pizza and brew night(Thursday), wine night(Wednesday), and Maddio’s Monday. Maddio’s Monday is probably the best deal, as you can get a 3-topping 9 inch pizza for only $ 6.35. Uncle Maddio’s isn’t gourmet pizza, and it’s not fancy– but if you’re looking for a solid pizza and quick lunch near Tanger or Walmart, it’s a solid choice. I’d go back.

We are big fans of Maddio’s and come here often. It seems like we are there almost weekly as it had become one of our kids favorite and most requested places to eat. There are a wide variety of topping and are all made to order. Pizzas are very good and reasonably priced.

I’ll copy what Sky said. Great concept, good food, but a pitiful excuse for employees. The manager needs to straighten them out or this place is doomed. If only they were the slightest bit friendly or talkative, but all they want to do is stare at you.

My girlfriend and I never heard of this place and ate here on a whim. The pizza was good, it was hot, the crust was crispy and the sauce wasn’t overly salty. No alcohol yet but that’s trivial. It did take a while for the pizza to come out, when you’re with a hungry pregnant woman that’s a little problematic. Over all I enjoyed this place and will be coming back again. It has a chipotle style ordering line with specials on a board when you walk in. The seating area is nice with plenty of booths. When we went it was a little busy and where the fountain drinks are located it was a little cramped. Staff seemed friendly and helpful and didn’t seem annoyed when I got confused about which toppings were actually paid for(we built our own pizza but mozzarella and sauce aren’t charged). The owner was on the floor helping clean up after patrons which we both admired. Still a different feeling leaving my tray in a chipotle style fast-casual food establishment.

I visited the first weekend it was open. They were giving away free pizza, so it was crowded but they moved everyone through at a decent pace. It’s cool how you can go down the line and choose different sauces, cheeses, and toppings you can’t get at most pizza places. The prices are a bit higher than I like to spend on my budget, but when I’m looking for a treat, I’ll definitely think of this place.

Yo! Stopped by and had to check out the new spot serving pizza! I am digging the concept of the place. They have a bunch of specialty pizzas they make themselves. But the best part is making your own crazy pizza. This place is ideal for kids. Kids will have fun letting their imagination run rampant. They have so many toppings to choose from that it can get a bit overwhelming. With that being said, i was ordering my pizza and the person who was preparing it messed my order up. He put marinara sauce instead of pesto like I requested. I asked for basil on my pizza as well and I didn’t get any. So here you have a great concept for a restaurant but poor execution from its workers. It is what it is. Hopefully next time I go, the service will be better.
