Considering it was an airport I was willing to give a hakf pass but its Charleston and it’s so small there isn’t that kind of traffic. I put my order in at 1:05p and after watching 6 pizzas and and hour later they had no excuse. Asked for refund and just sipped on my soda. Would love to rate the food but unfortunately do to the poor service I can’t do that.

25 minutes for a pizza at 745 am when there is no line and 5 workers seems tad excessive.

I can’t speak to the quality of their pizza. Who in Lord’s name needs a whole pizza before getting on a flight? Why don’t you sell slices? I bet you could increase your sales by 25% if you sold by the slice. Even if it tasted like crap, Pizza Hut stays in business, you would sell a bunch.

Second morning having a breakfast sandwich before our flight. Very tasty and substantial to hold me over for the many hours I’ll be traveling & wont be able to eat. Love the ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Bread is super yummy, just enough and not greasy. Other options available like cereal, yogurt parfait. Good option at this smaller airport with not many places to eat.

The ovens are beautiful… pizza delish… staff great, nice, hard working… but please ditch the weaves! Long straggly weave hair with hair net on top only! Put it all up or go natural… its dangling in my food!

I am a downtown DeSano fanatic, so I was very excited to see they opened a location at the airport. I completely understand why they need to do whole pizzas instead of slices; DeSano Pizza is so thin that if it sits around at all, it gets very soggy. The pizzas are a bit smaller than downtown, so they are good for one person, but my one gripe is that the size doesn’t affect the price. They are expensive! I usually go for the meatball sandwich, which is delicious but still pricey. They have a pretty good monopoly going at CHS, so next time you’re there, give it a try in terminal B.

Had a meatball sub and it was horrible and tasted so dried out and burnt. Wow, looks like a nice place but food so bad. But they made it right and offered something else which goes a long way with me… very nice staff.

Yum! I love that airports are bringing in local restaurants. We wanted to try DeSano during our visit and were pleasantly surprised when we saw them in the airport. We split a DeSano pizza and it was delicious. It sure beats the sandwiches you can buy on the planes. The prices were reasonable because the pizzas are a good size and perfect to share.

At the airport, there are not many choices because the airport is small and is under construction. They only sell the entire pizza. An 11 inch pizza without cheese for $ 11??? The plain cheese with basil is $ 12.75 with barely any cheese. I guess if you’re hungry that is the only choice there is. There is very limited sitting with a bar right next door, which is needed to help forget the price you just paid for the pizza. The taste is okay. There is no cheese on the table to add to the almost cheeseless pizza. They do have red pepper flakes! That’s a plus. If you are hungry and traveling from the Charleston airport, just make sure you eat before, or you’ll have a tomato sauce pizza with hints of cheese! The menu does not have too many options, so I didn’t have much of a choice. Besides that, it could be worst anywho Happy travels.

DONOTORDERANTIPASTO! When you order the antipasto tray, the menu says it has two types of prosciutto. It has salami, hot salami(maybe cappacola at a stretch) and SHAVEDHAM. When I asked where the TWO types of prosciutto were, I was told that the shaved ham was«cooked prosciutto.» Thats a lie, folks, and this food was not good — even the salami. Yikes.

So you’re hungry in an airport… first are you crazy?! Do you know how inflated these prices are? You know you’re not going to get your money’s worth… Well anyway you’ve chosen to eat here so let’s break it down: The Décor: So they’re limited by their location but they did put some effort into it. The tables are nice and not your typical rundown and dirty messes. the pizza oven is definitely the highlight of the space and brings some authenticity to the ambiance. Service: I was greeted very nicely by the cashier, and it is customary for them to ask your name in order to call out your order. I do feel like where they dropped the ball is not telling people that their pizza would be freshly made. And they are not kidding about the«freshly made» part. They start your pizza from making the dough, which for someone who wants to quickly grab a bite to eat not so great. This is why they got such a poor rating from me. Why would you put this type of establishment in a airport? I can’t imagine people don’t get upset about that. Especially with the limited amount of places to get food in the airport. This was a MAJOR fail. Food: So I’ve waited all this time and I’m really excited about eating this pizza I waited so long for especially since it was«freshly made». What do I get? Lackluster pizza. The crust was not crispy, the cheese was barely melted, the pepperoni was too thick and came off as chewy. It definitely had a weird after taste. I also found it very difficult to eat. Which was another issue. It’s a whole pizza in a box, personal sized but it still is a substantial size, how do you carry the box, plus a carry-on item, and a purse/backpack. Oh by the way you also have to eat this thing on the plane packed like a sardine. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for an airport quick bite. If they’re ging have the pace of a restaurant then they need to raise their level of service or speed up the process of getting the food out to the people. Sorry DeSano, I’d rather eat the chips and soda on the plane then come back here.

Not pizza by the slice, but very good. Not many options, but the Margherita and Pepperoni pizza are well done. The crust is well balanced; good texture without being too heavy or light as air. The toppings are fresh and balanced as well with the crust. They must spend a fortune on boxes, though, since everything is made to go even if you eat at the location.

You Charlestonians are tough. As an airport food service, this place is great. Good food, pro team, friendly staff, tasty food. Lighten up already, Unilocalers!

You’re on the hook to order a whole pizza at this airport option. From what I understand, there are few(no?) other options available as of Dec 2015 during CHS construction. If you’re travellng solo, theres something that feels vaguely highway robbery’ish about this approach. The pizza itself is fine, burnt in some places in the Neopolitan way. A step above other airport food, but not a contender compared to your everyday pizza joint. Woe be to those who are there when the airport is packed. Lackadaisical staff talking amongst themselves before deigning to service customers, no place to sit, and little elbow room. Eat before you get to the airport.

Nice to finally have options at the airport. Anyone expecting the same as experience as downtown restaurant is just way off base. This is quick, easy and uses same ingredients as restaurant. Wish salads had the ability to be built to taste and weren’t so expensive.

Not sure what the deal is with people here, but this is one of the best dining experience I have had in an airport. Wood fired fresh pizza in an airport that is under renovations? Yes please! Service was very prompt, was able to order in less than a minute. The girl at the front desk could have been slightly more engaging, but being spent on southern small talk hospitality and ready to get back to my closed off west coast, I was fine with it. Lasagna pizza had meatballs, pecorino, motz, and fresh ricotta. Excellent choice for a rainy 1030am breakfast.

Okay all you nay-sayers… This Desano is nowhere near as bad as you all make it out to be! I know, I know — if you look at my reviews, I have written two rave reviews on the Desano’s located downtown. So you may think I just love Desano’s, and that is why I am being easy on the airport location. This is not true. The airport Desano’s has the unfortunate task of serving literally every hungry traveler that is waiting for a flight in that terminal. I have seen the line 20 people deep. They are doing their best to serve you good food, as quickly as possible. Was our pizza as good as a normal Desano’s pizza? No. Because that pizza is made by the awesome guys downtown who really know their stuff. But was our pizza horrible? No, not at all.

The pizza was quite good and best if you can share with someone as there is only one size available and it is quite large. If you can’t share you will note that $ 15 for pizza is rather expensive. Limited seating so get it to go and find a spot in the boarding area. But is you want a beer with your meal you will need to find a seat in this crowded area. Currently there are few options as the airport is undergoing major reconstruction.

Didn’t get any food just a drink. The staff was friendly and quick. Ironically the line there was going faster than the kiosk across the way. That’s why I went there. They only have one size pizzas which I heard people complaining about since they just wanted a personal pizza. Oh well, they looked delicious and were all made fresh. I would have destroyed them. There is also a pretty good bar that is situated in a pretty efficient way to make the area flow better. They had a lot of good craft beers. Pretty legit place. Especially since it’s the only place to eat in the terminal. They had some nice little table areas to eat. The whole area of the terminal has been redone and really nice. Bathrooms are located to the back of the restaurant and are really nice. I’d grab a bite there my next flight out of Charleston.

Desano! Please stop! You’re better than this. I hate to see you ruining your downtown brand with this half baked location. At first, I was thrilled to see a local restaurant taking up space in the airport instead of a Wolfgang Puck sandwich stand, but this isn’t what I expected. This is now the only eatery in terminal B so they pretty much have a monopoly on the market. If you’re by yourself, get ready to break open your wallet. You have to buy a whole pizza no matter how hungry you are and the pizzas start at $ 15. It was 9:00am so I wasn’t ready to start my day with an entire brick oven pizza to the face. They did have a breakfast sandwich but that was the only breakfast type option. I decided on the meatball sandwich instead. Take a look at my photos to see what they gave me. It was a ciabatta style bread with a couple meatballs falling out of it and then sprinkled with cheese. After I put my sandwich back together, I dug in. I think they might have painted the bread with grease because it was legitimately squirting out of the sandwich. At the end of the day, the meatballs were actually pretty tasty so maybe just the side of meatballs would be a better option. One star for that and another for not being a chain in the airport, but please get it together so I can update this later.
