Yeah, «Trap» is right. I got the broiled dinner and everything had a strange undertaste. The people were friendly, but the food was unfortunately not very good.

Came here with a group of friends after our Mt Washington hike. Terrible. It smelled like bathroom when we entered, which should’ve been a clear sign to not eat here. I had the lobster bisque, which was watered down cream with three pieces of lobster. My friends ordered the stuffed scallops and surprise, surprise-they tasted like bathroom. Waitstaff was nice but the food is a definite one star. Disappointed

Inside has short ceilings but nice ambience. Servers are very friendly. Lobster roll and mussels fra Diablo was ordered by my friend. Very fresh lobster, mussels were good except the pasta was overcooked. I ordered the lobster fra Diablo which was extremely disapponting, the lobster was overcooked and the pasta was not al dente. I left all the pasta in the dish.

I went there I the fall 2015 off season. Food was not bad but little expensive for an out of the way place. There are better options in my opinion. The ambience was rather dark and outdated. I will say the lobster bisque was very good with lots of lobster claw chunks. I ended up getting clams, cod & scallop plate, good also, instead of lobster, better value IMHO. I guess paying too much for lobster is hard for me to swallow being from Boston where lobster is everywhere. I would go back though. Three stars because it was kind of run down to me the food is not the issue.

My husband and I, went to Lobster Trap to enjoy our wedding anniversary dinner. It was delicious. It was the best meal we had during our visit of New Hampshire. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful. My husband order new England clam chowder and fried clams with onion rings. I ordered steamed lobster. Thank you great service and great company. We are already planning our next trip to NH and Lobster trap will be one of our stops. Best regards from Brooklyn NY

Were here on a family trip for the first time in New England. We found this restaurant from a Unilocal review, and WOW was it great. The food is wonderful and Bill was quite entertaining the entire time. We felt like regulars the minute we set down. We will definitely be back if we’re up this way again.

Six of us made reservations at the restaurant on the recommendation of others on Unilocal. What a mistakes. Everything started out fine. The waitress was very friendly. The homemade rolls came and they were very ordinary soft rolls(not hot out of oven). Two of us had the twin lobsters and ordered one regular steamed and one stuffed. The stuffed one was stuffed with crab and crackers– not so good and couldn’t taste the crab, only the soft crackers. The lobster was quite good but I have had much better in Maine. The other members of our party had fish, haddock and a fish fry. They said it was just okay. The biggest problem was when the bill came. They offered to give us separate checks and we thought it was correct and gave her our credit card. Then we realized that she had mixed up the charges and needed her to re-do the bill and credit the original check. It took them a half hour to do this and WE had to call over the manager owner for her assistance. No one seemed to care or apologize for the mix-up. The restaurant was not busy and it was not very late. There was no excuse for the attitude or the delay. Finally we got one bill, we split it up ourselves, paid and left. As we were leaving the waitress yelled, «thanks for the tip» as no tip was left due to the terrible service. I do not recommend this place.

Seafood was delicious and service was very nice. The place was quick when we got in around 4, but started to get busy as we were leaving.

Good place off the beaten path. We arrived about 6:30 on a Friday night. We opted for the«roll» options rather than larger lobster or clam dishes at «market price». Had an appetizer off the specials of the day menu(Arancini) which was a good 4 large portions with marinara for dipping. We sat in the bar side & was quieter & void of screaming children who were sitting in the large dining room. Luckily we finished up just as the large locals contingent started rolling in for what seemed like boisterous fun.

On our way to Diana’s Bath, I had to have a Lobster Roll! Had to happen :) we Unilocaled the category and Lobster Trap came up. So we started our journey and just as we pulled in, we immediately regretted our decision. It was 1pm and the parking lot was empty. Despite the place looking out of business we headed inside. From there on out the experience was fantastic. The service is friendly and made valuable recommendation, the chowder was on point. Two drinks and a lobster roll later, I had discovered the place to get lobster related dishes. Great place.

Excellent chowder! We took several kids and the waitstaff was good with the kids. Inside isn’t anything really special, but we weren’t there for the décor. For the food, The lobster roll was delicious. The onion rings were also good. The kids chicken tenders were good.

Unexpectedly came upon this place after a long day at Storyland. Lobster roll was OK, didn’t seem as fresh as I’ve had in the past. Kids loved their food– good quality, not cheap kid food. Husband had linguini w/meatballs and loved it. We will be back.

Our group of 10(5 children, 5 adults) was seated immediately. The adults were able to enjoy their meals thanks to the foreword thinking of the waitstaff. The martinis were strong and the servings were generous. The stuffed lobster and broiled scallops were excellent! Everyone loved their meal. Plus, they made my six year old son feel like a superstar by displaying his drawing of lobster on an ocean beach. Well done!

We have gone to the Lobster Trap for a few years now, and have NEVER had a disappointing meal, or met a more friendly wait staff. Yesterday, my wife and I had their lobster dinner for two special, which came with a satisfying salad and delicious fries. The lobsters were«to die for» tender and sweet. We live in Maine, and whenever we travel to New Hampshire, we make it a point to time it so we’re somewhere close to the Lobster Trap for mealtime. Bravo! Bravo!

The lobster trap is definitely worth checking out. I’d recommend the chowder, lobsters, or Italian seafood dishes. The service is friendly and the place has a very nice warm cozy feel to it. We come here every time we go to North Conway and have had consistent solid meals.

We were driving to downtown North Conway, and made a wrong turn, which took us to this restaurant. I think that was meant to be, because I was really, really craving whole Maine lobster, and lo and behold, there is the restaurant! The name of the restaurant caught my eye so we took a look at the menu and decided that their two 1 pound lobster deal for $ 35 was a good deal. The meal came with four sides. We decided on the salad, boiled string beans, clam chowder soup, and coleslaw. That was a lot of food! The lobster was fresh and absolutely delicious! The pound was definitely enough for me, although I did end up eating all the small legs from my bf’s lobster. The coleslaw was a little heavy on the mayonnaise, but nonetheless, I still thought it was better than average. I enjoyed the clam chowder. There was a substantial amount of clam. The string beans, I can do without. Salad was large. I believe the proprietor was also our waiter. He was friendly and pleasant, making small talk with us. This restaurant has a family feel to it. I would definitely come back.

The early bird specials are worth it, get there before 6pm. Clam chowder was good, warm lobster roll was good(great lumps of crab on a toasted bun with butter, but left a filmy taste on your tongue and teeth), the clam strips were good in their tartar sauce, and the onion rings were great when hot but got starchy as they cooled. Would have given 5 stars, but I think their frying oil needs to be changed so it doesn’t leave that filmy feeling on your tongue and teeth. Otherwise, flavors were good, service was friendly and options were just what you’d want from a place called Lobster Trap.

This was my first New England lobster experience… and it did not disappoint! They had great specials/deals going on with certain menu items. We had twin tails for $ 25 and 2 lbs of lobsters for $ 35. Although the lobster meat wasn’t as big/full as I’ve had before, it was ridiculously tasty and cooked to be the perfect chewy meaty lobstah meat consistency. They give out these fun bibs and the place is definitely really casual/low-key/not fancy or pretentious. Beer on tap was ridiculously cheap($ 15 for a huge pitcher). You MUST add on the $ 2 clam chowder bowl, it’s super creamy and rich, has big chunks of clams, and deliciousness is on par with Pike Place Chowder’s in Seattle! Fine for families with picky young children as they have other pasta/kid menu items. The owner Bill, was awesome and had some hilarious stories… ask about his time in the mafia! ;) Looks like its a family business — his wife was our server and she was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are clean overall but they ran out of soap… not good when you’re eating lobstaaah with your hands! Bring hand sanitizer.
