I checked in to the Regency Inn on the 24th of June and stayed until the 2nd of August. In those horrible weeks, this is an account of what transpired at this poorly run hotel. I’ll start by saying had my work not made the reservations, I would have never chosen this establishment. I checked in to my room. The room at first glance is appealing, however while they are in renovations only some of the rooms have new furniture. I had old furniture. The beds are lumpy and the sheets are not bright white. The pillow cases and sheets have old stains on them, and the fleece blanket makes you itch. The comforter is smelly and stained and dirty. This was the case in both rooms I stayed(more on that later). The«closet» would barely close, and kept swinging open. The TV had no reception on any of the channels. And the bathroom smelled nasty and did not even have a shower curtain, only the cloth outer curtain you use for styling(not a water proof one). After a week or so, I started smelling a STRONG odor of Marijuana. I’m a former cop and know the smell well. It was so overpowering I bought a can of Febreeze. I picked up Lysol wipes while I was at it because this place is that nasty. I finally got moved to another room. In my second room, the light switch in the bathroom was the same — motion detector. Oh by the way, you better do flipping jumping jacks in the bathroom while you«do your business» because if you don’t, the lights go off. Fortunately, this hotel sucks enough that the dial for the heat lamp is busted and it stayed on. Downside is it made the bathroom hotter than hell. The bed was a little better, but not really when you account for every night a bus load of oriental people come in around 11pm and apparently practice Zumba in the room above yours. A coworker of mine 6 rooms down can attest to the same thing. When they aren’t making noise, it’s the drunk that spent 4 weeks in the room next to mine, banging into things, and stumbling outside causing his forehead to bleed. Oh and if that’s not enough, he tried to kick in his door one day. Yea, those are the people attracted to this«budget ritz Carlton» House keeping is nice. They are nice and slow. Two don’t speak any English and have never once taken a bath in their life. They turn your AC off, unlock your window, and then when done stinking up your room, they forget to LOCKTHEWINDOW. Multiple occasions caused me to banish them from my room and do my own housekeeping — not something a guest should have to do. Also don’t ask for extra towels — ain’t happening. The AC unit has never been cleaned, and there are cobwebs in the room I stayed. You can look around and tell they don’t vaccum the rooms like they should — I can see something in the corner by the couch right now as I type this. Frankly, I’m thankful we are finally leaving and picking another hotel to work out of. It happened after I had to call the desk on my cell phone because you know, my room phone doesn’t work, and tell the owner that the drunk was kicking his door for 15 minutes at night, and then he got attitude with me and my boss. Then he apologized, knocked on my door 4 more times that night and finally asked my help in telling the guy he wasn’t welcome to stay after the end of the week. No. Just no. Grow a pair of your own. This is a poor choice to stay. It is not to my standards nor should it be to anyone else with no criminal background, no narcotics addictions, and no previous STD’s. Honestly when I get home, I don’t even want my family to hug me. I just want to shower in blistering hot water, scrub down with bleach and a grinder, and hire a psychologist so I can forget about the stress and trauma this place causes. The end.

It’s the middle of winter and the lobby, hallways, breakfast area, and(YES) the rooms are freezing cold. Like I need a coat to sit inside the hotel. The walkway to the back entrance door to the hotel was not cleared of snow & ice(liability!!!). They advertise waffles for breakfast, but don’t offer waffles«this time of year» just the usual bad hotel coffee… Not even any cheap store bought pastries or anything. Just bad hotel coffee… Luckily IHOP is nearby… The room was nothing special, the TV reception was terrible, but the wifi does work(at least one positive). The reason for the 2nd star was because the place was at least clean. Freezing cold, with no warm breakfast in the AM, but clean. Oh, and the front desk doesn’t have a person staffing it. I arrived at 6pm to a bell that I rang, and no one came. There was a phone on he desk that instructed me to press«0», but I just got a busy signal. After several minutes(10 minutes or so…) someone sauntered by and asked if they could help me. At first they couldn’t find my pre-paid reservation, but after my insistence that I had already paid, and showed the email confirmation, they«found» the reservation in a drawer. Needless to say, I won’t return.
