One word to describe Tropical Smoothie? Overrated. The food is mediocre, overpriced and takes very long to cook for some reason. Over the years the prices at this location have skyrocketed and nor the service or the menu items have increased in quality. Pretty pathetic. The only items I mildly enjoy once a year(if that) is the focaccia breakfast sandwich, totally turkey wrap, Bahama mama and maybe one of the kids smoothies. And that’s if I have absolutely no other options. Note: if you are in a rush and don’t want to wait over 10+ minutes(if your lucky) for drive thru food go elsewhere.

I want to live this place for offering smoothies on the go, but do not be fooled: this is not health food! Any place that serves smoothies that run 700 calories and with 132grams of sugar(yes-see the menu’s nutrition info) is serving the equivalent of ice cream milkshakes! They add Turbinado sugar to each smoothie and you wouldn’t know it as it is written in tiny print on the menu up in the corner. You can request without or ask for splenda, but I do think they should remove the sugar all together. Delicous-yes. Health food? Not even close.

I wanted something with coconut and the guy at the cashier recommended a concoction that was no longer on the menu. It was delicious.

For«fast food,» Tropical Smothie café has delicious healthy meals, and that’s without even mentioning the smoothies(which are amazing). My personal favorite meal they have is the Baja Chicken Flatbread, but the buffalo chicken wrap and wasabi roast beef are delicious as well. The smoothies are awesome, and you can choose weather they add sugar or Splenda. My personal recommendation is to get your smoothie with NO added sweetener… The fruit makes it sweet enough in its own. My favorite smoothie is the Hawaain Breeze(pineapple, orange, and non fat yogurt) and I also really like the Strawberry Lemonade. I typically stop by here once a week for a smoothie. It’s worth the $ 5/drink. The issue with this place? For fast food, it’s not very fast. Sometimes I think this place shouldn’t even have a drive thru because you are going to wait FOREVER. This isn’t an exaggeration… I have sometimes sat in line at the drive thru for 20 minutes over the summer. Thankfully it’s a little better in the winter. Typically, though, the staff is so kind and friendly that is ALMOST makes up for the ridiculous wait, so I won’t knock off any points for it. This is definitely a great place if you want a healthy lunch or smoothie, if you have some extra time to wait for it.

It had been so long since I had been to one, not because I don’t like the place, but because I just never think to go there. Man it was delicious. I’ve only been in town since Monday night but so far its the best meal I’ve had. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Club and it was great! Full of flavor, the right amount of spice, and the bread was soft. I definitely will be back. I also ordered the Tropi Colada and I could actually taste the fruit. Using real fruit in smoothies?! What a novel idea! Unlike the powdery smoothies at Jamba Juice which used to be great before they started cutting corners. Such an overrated place.

I usually love tropical smoothie but my last visit was awful. The girl who took my order made me feel like I was interrupting her conversation with her coworkers, and on top of that she didn’t feel like giving me my change. Now I wasn’t going to argue over 13 cents but a $ 5 smoothie really isn’t worth that kind of service.

If your looking for a quick healthy meal that fills you up whether it’s at lunch time or dinner time this is the place to go. With a drive through this place is super easy for a quick meal on your lunch break. Or just stop in for a healthy sit down lunch with seating outside for some fresh air as you slurp up the fresh fruits

Love this place !!! Literally come here at least 3 to 4 times a week for lunch. Calling ahead is always a good thing because lunch time is always very busy. People are very polite and accommodating. Smoothies are awesome !

The staff don’t seem to be to bright. Messed up my order, then threw away my receipt when i asked for it. The inside throws you off and there is garbage collected inside the bench seats. If only there was another smoothie place, cause I would stop going there. :/

Cute little spot, friendly staff and yummy smoothies! They have ample seating inside and a couple of tables outside in the summer. I like the décor inside. Service is professional and fast. They have a lot of great smoothies to choose from and have a couple of healthier items. I wish they had different sizes to choose from… like small, medium and large. But they really only have one size. There is a tiny one for kids, but other than that just the one size and I find I can never finish the entire thing. The sandwiches are good and I’m glad there are vegetarian options. I think the food is a little pricey for what it is. It definitely won’t fill you up. Kind of a good in between or light lunch. The Hummus Veggie Wrap and Kiwi Quencher are my favorites. Because there aren’t a lot of smoothie places in south coast Mass I would make it a point to stop in if you’re in the Dartmouth area.

I thought this place was good, but I think it is a little overrated. I had the chocolate peanut butter and banana smootie and it barely had any taste to it and every time I took a sip I was hoping for it to get better! Clean and good service were some of the highlights here!

Smoothies are great! Every once in a while you get one that has a little to much ice, or one that’s a bit off on flavor, but almost always they are great. Staff here is also pretty good, usually upbeat and in a good mood. The sandwiches and food though… … Blah, mediocre deli sandwiches with some lame sauce squirted on. If you have to eat it, it’s manageable, but for me, I stick with the smoothies.

Smoothies are out of this world! This is about our 5th visit to TPC and we enjoy it a lot. My 14 yr old daughter likes the Quesedillas and typically(being a kids size) that usually does the trick with the size of their smoothies on top of that being filling enough for a lunch. She also likes the Awesome Orange flavored smoothie. I have enjoyed the Totally Turkey as well as Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwiches. I have also tried Popeye’s Favorite(toasted wrap) but wasn’t much of a fan of the spinach artichoke spread. Very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of all staff, even when my daughter dropped her smoothie outside, they refilled it for free. If I had any complaint it would be that the sizes of the large smoothie are big, and we haven’t been able to finish them. Some flavors aren’t listed in both sizes(small flavors kids meals only) and I think for less money($ 4.29/ea for large size) the cups could be smaller and still be plenty enough. I would definitely go back!

I lived in FL for 3 yrs. Became addicted to these great smoothies. I even drove to Long Island, NY last year. These smoothies are Unbeatable anywhere in MA. I am so psyched they are here, so sad, I didn’t know they’ve been open since Sept.09. Gotta try em’, have a flavor for Everyone. Until one opens closer to me, I will do the 40 mile trip, once a week and bring home a cooler full. :-)

So glad I discovered this place! The smoothies are really good and fresh. I like the protein ones. They are kind of expensive for smoothies, but the sizes are huge so it makes up for the price. I’ve never had the food here, but it always looks and smells great! I’ll have to get a panini one of these days.
