We tried to come last night but it looked closed, granted it was raining pretty hard and I wasn’t about to jump out and check lol. So we came by today for lunch. Good news they have 9 $ lunch specials. I had clam strip and my boy had chicken tenders. The chicken got 9 $ was ridiculously over prices, even the kids meal was 9.50. Seriously? I found theb $ 9 clam order was alright, nicely cooked but not spectacular.

I guess it goes without saying, but we hit up the Friendly Fisherman again this past Memorial Day weekend and it never fails to impress. Lobster rolls were on fleek. The fisherman’s platter was waaaay more than enough food for the wife and I. People left so happy. A joyous experience. Friendly Fisherman can’t be beat.

We won’t be coming back. 5 different meals and none of them were decent. Just generally bland food and the not the freshest seafood. Too much mayo on the lobster roll, small portions of fish and chips and baked fresh fish of the day, mushy rice pilaf, the coleslaw was bland… Even the kids Mac and cheese(which was Kraft out of the box) was a small portion and undercooked leaving my 3 year old hungry. And truthfully, my stomach was starting to hurt even before we left… There just no excuse for non– fresh seafood. The kids play area(which is nice to offer, left much to be desired). Port-a-potty only. Other than there not having a long wait on the busy long weekend, there isn’t much nice to say about this place.

Mixed review. Came here because the line at Arnold’s was way too long. My friends ordered the lobster roll. She found shells in the roll. The size lived up to the billing. No skimping on the lobster meat. And, she liked the toasted bun. They ordered the Caesar salad. It was huge, fresh and tasty. We ordered the fisherman a platter. The portions were huge. We had tons left over. My husband said the clams were tiny and underwhelming. The fish, shrimp and scallops were exceptional. We all loved the onion rings. Don’t bother with the fries. The staff was very friendly. Don’t bother with the clam chowder. I’m not sure we found any clams in either of our bowls. Would not order it again.

If I could give this place higher stars I certainly would. I stumbled upon this place, with no prior research and I was absolutely AMAZED. A Highly Recommend. The LOBSTER– ROLL meal is to die for and ditto to the FISHTACOS. It was our daily routine b4 and after the beach. Thank you Friendly’s, I will be back. You can order via phone or in person. Take to go or to stay. Bön Lobst-etit :)

Wow, what happened. Tiny portion of fries, no cole slaw and small roll. I will say, the meat is mostly chunks, little mayo but it was a small portion for the price. The clam chowder was thin but had a nice flavor and nice pieces of clams. I think it’s time to move on from what used to be my favorite place for lobster.

I cannot figure out why people are rating this place so high, I really can’t. Based on other’s reviews, we decided to try this place for dinner. We were in Eastham, we were hungry, and people seem to be over the moon happy with this place. The Atmosphere– Was gross. Why? Well, for one, there are no restrooms unless you consider 2 dirty porta-potties with no place to wash your hands in the back parking lot a restroom. Why would you want to wash your hands when eating finger food anyway? Gross. Had we seen this before ordering, we would have left. Other than that, picnic tables with plastic clothes much as one would expect for a cheap casual eatery. Too bad this place wasn’t cheap! I’d have to say that they charge sit down with a view prices to sit in a dirty parking lot to eat. Not cool. The Food– I wanted the Lobster Roll, but I hate celery and lots of places on the cape serve it that way so when we arrived I asked the cashier about the lobster roll and if it had celery in it. Her response was that she didn’t think so but the lobster is all just premade so they couldn’t do anything different if it was. Oh well. I’m not paying $ 21.00 for premixed, not fresh lobster, so I ordered the clam strip dinner($ 16.99), and the Shrimp and corn bisque cup($ 4.95). My partner ordered the Fish & Chips($ 16.99) and a cup of Clam Chowder($ 4.99). The soups were good, and were an appropriate amount of soup as expected. The Shrimp & Corn bisque had a little spice to it which I liked. I do with it had a little more shrimp in it. I think I only had 2 in the entire cup. The clam chowder tasted good but a little bland, and only had little pieces of clam in it, but there was a lot of potato. For the meals– The Clams were good, and there were a lot of them. So many that I couldn’t finish them in fact. They tasted exactly like every other clam strip I have ever had so they were nothing special, but they did taste fresh as they were tender and not chewy. The fries were awful, pre-frozen, soggy and tasteless. They were not worth wasting calories on. I tossed all but 2. I’m not a fan of slaw, and I did taste it and it was fine, tasted exactly like cabbage with mayo. For $ 16.99 I do not consider this meal a good value considering that the only edible bit was the clam, and $ 17.00 for some clams is way too much. My partner had the fish and chips, and he also tossed all the«CHIPS», as they were gross. The fish was decent. It tasted fresh, and there was about 7 – 8 oz of it I would guess. i liked that the meat was tender and flaky while the outside was crispy but not too battered. I’d say this was the best part of the meals. But again, $ 17 for 3 little pieces of fried fish is way too much. I would not recommend this place at all. It was way too pricy for what they offer in terms of a complete meal and ambiance, they don’t care about their customers enough to offer a proper restroom or any place to wash hands, and we were left feeling like the $ 50 we spent was a complete waste.

Simply outstanding. We spend several weeks on the Cape each summer and have had an opportunity to dine at nearly all of the popular Eastham seafood spots. Without nAming nAmes I can share that the quality of seafood at Friendly Fisherman tops all we have tried. Eat-in accommodations are very modest however dine-in or take-out we have never been disappointed. Add in the very courteous staff and you can’t help but want to recommend FF to friends and family. Looking forward to our next visit !

Swordfish tacos were great today. The kids liked the fish & chips and clam strips. Salads were huge. Eating area was fine for a take out place. Overall a very good take out place.

freshest fried clams I have ever had. My husband got the lobster roll-he gave me a whole claw from his roll because it was to big to fit in his mouth. Returned the next day for more clam strips! Love the casual outdoor seating-perfect when you come straight from the beach. Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been here a couple times and my family loves their lobster rolls. I definitely recommend these rolls as they do not skip on lobster meat, it’s really fresh, and the dressing is light. The bun is toasted just right and accompanied by a generous about of yummy fries. Apparently it’s Rachel Ray’s favorite in the area. I prefer hot lobster rolls on butter(which they don’t serve here) but for a cold lobster roll I’m a big fan.

I love this fish market. The staff is always friendly and their fish is always excellent. They even have fish and chips to go. Really a quality place and it is not quite as busy as Arnold’s with better fried clams…

The lobster roll is good. We do not really like fried seafood. The large strips tastes weird.

I think their fried clam strips are the best on the cape by far. They are always perfectly cooked and never greasy. Their chowder is good as is their lobster roll. I’ve also had their swordfish tacos in the past and they were a nice departure from usual fried stuff. For 2 – 3 ppl get the fisherman platter to share. It’s a massive amount of food but so good and a perfect way to sample a bit of everything.

3.5 stars. Pretty good place for some seafood. It’s hard not to compare it to Arnold’s down the street, but I enjoyed the fried clam plate I got here — a giant pile of freshly fried clams and fries, and they had malted vinegar as a condiment choice! The hubby, however, did not like his crab cakes plate — it was more like. fried cake with crab flavor, so that was disappointing. So 4 stars for mine, 2 stars for his, averages out to 3, right? :)

Awesome lobster roll, a little too much mayo, but nevertheless, tasty! The place is a small self service style shack with 3 windows. Window #1 order, window #2 pickup, window #3 trash.

Some of the best, classic New England fare can be found at The Friendly Fisherman. Delicious lobster rolls, perfectly cooked fried scallops, clams and fish. Light and tender, never heavy and over cooked. The lobster bisque isn’t as good as I had hoped; lacking in flavor and hardly any lobster was contained in my cup. But this wasn’t even close to a deal breaker. I’ll be heading back there again, no doubt.

One of my favorite lobster rolls… EVER. I will admit that the BF and I have traveled around New England seeking the best lobster roll. This one is excellent. It is full of luscious lobster… claw meaty-licious. It is served with a lovely piece of lettuce on it, which I like and the roll is toasted to perfection. Do not let the price steer you away… it is well worth the price! You order at the window and then sit. This is not to be taken in a scary way. You are not at a roadside Tastee Freeze, what comes out is a work of art. The chowder was great. I would have liked a few more clams and potatoes in it, but it was fresh and tasted homemade, not canned. I looked at other diners plates and the food look delicious. Excellent stop.

Best lobster rolls, big claws on top and lots of meat in the roll. Expensive so we treat ourselves once a year when we come down. It’s worth it!
