After the whole cockroach incident at this place I was sure it would have closed by now but people still go back. The waiters try to push you out of the place after you’ve had about 2 plates of food. I went with a few of my friends and one of them had to leave so we got all of our checks. The rest of us were going to stay since we had only been there for 15 min but the waitress stood in front of our table and stared at us while we ate. I felt very rushed and disrespected at this place. Previous times I went there they did the same thing. They bring the check and are pushy to get you to leave. If you want cheap food this place is decent, but if you want to stay for more than 20 min you should go somewhere else.

Not bad of a place, the selection is not that big but food is delicious, hibachi bar is not bad neither, it was kind of empty when we went but it was good. Seafood was delicious, dessert, they need more choices.

While I’m not a huge fan of buffets this one was pretty generic. We were greeted and seated promptly and served beverages. I have a horrible time making decisions and there was a lot to choose from. While neither of us tried the hibachi bar, and don’t eat sushi, everything seemed relatively fresh and tasted good. The only exception to that was the mystery«filling» in the baked potato skins… still not sure what that was all about. For the $ 12.99 holiday special it was a good value and we left satisfied.

It made me give it a 1 star review. If I could I would go negative 5 stars for this place. I found a roach on the food counter today 12/23/201512:15pm. I informed the manager and staff. The staff person tried to take the roach from me and take it away. So as no one else would see it. The manager stated that the health inspector was just there and a exterminator had sprayed. This tells me that there has been issues before and they don’t clean properly. Be weary of where you are eating, view your surroundings. I will not be back, nor will my family. I will inform all friends as well.

We came back in. The nice message from Samantha, a relatively new manager after my original reviews. The good news: The bathroom fixtures which had been broken for years were repaired, as Sam had mentioned. The bad news: The food was not only still substandard, but worse than we had remembered and everyone who was with us felt mildly sick that night after. In addition, the prices were higher than we remembered, which left us feeling we paid more for less. For restaurants, I tend to have a rule that if they cannot cook and serve food better than what we make at home, it’s not worth going. I need to suspend this rule for buffets, of course, since the food is not made and served to order. What we experienced here, however… giving them a third try after determining not to go back… was nothing short of terrible.

I wasn’t expecting too much from this buffet since I’ve had lacking experiences from many buffets or all-you-can eat places in the past. This buffet only further reinforced my idea. Came in with a large party 10+ including children. I was first impressed by the spacious floor plan and cute ferris wheel water fountain by the entrance. There was a greeting booth but no one there when we arrived? Okay? We were seated by the wash area or small booth where the servers congregate, which I thought was convenient for them but not very private for us since we felt the servers were staring and hovering over us the entire time. Because of our large party, our table was on the bare side of the buffet aside from the rest of the customers, which I didn’t mind much but I noticed a couple sitting by us too. I’m not sure whether they were seated before of after us but throughout our meal, they seemed annoyed with us and prepared to leave as soon as possible. I assume we were too chatty for their comfort but that was to their unfortunance; we were only being customers. As for the food, I thought the meat and vegetables like the broccoli were alright. Not the most amazing quality but bearable & edible. I chose these words because I compare it to other buffets I’ve eaten at which have been greasy or plain awful. At least this buffet was a step up. I have to complain about the sushi. I looked forward to trying all the 10~ choices of sushi rolls so I grabbed one of each. To my unsatisfaction, they were terrible. Tasteless, dry, small. The ingredient combinations inside every sushi roll were questionable & didn’t blend well together. I don’t think I should even call it sushi. Also the ice cream scoops were icky; handles wet & sticky. I just wanted some ice cream but I have to go through that mess? Hopefully, this buffet will make further efforts to improve in all different aspects of customer complaints.

The food is not too bad; it’s for the money you pay. However, the one reason this is a one star review is the service. My family and I were rushed both times and it seems as if the helpers are mad at you for staying. They give the check after like ten minutes and continue to look if you have paid or not. It was rather rude and I didn’t appreciate it. Also, the so called lobster meat in February is not lobster; possibly crab. Honestly, if the service was better it could be a 3 star maybe 4.

This place had the most comprehensive, ridiculous offering of Asian cliché foods that I have ever seen. It is also the largest buffet I have seen outside of Las Vegas. There is a huge assortment of Japanese-ish, Korean-ish and Chinese-ish food, and let us not forget that Chinese buffet staple item, Jello. Everything on the buffet looked and tasted tired. The hibachi is nothing more than second rate Mongolian bbq, lacking the assortment of veggies and delicious sauces the Mongolian bbq normally has. Bottom line: if you go to this restaurant, go for the spectacle of gluttony, not for a decent meal.

Stopped in the other day for a delightful lunch at Hibachi Sushi & Seafood Buffet. I always enjoy their General Tso Chicken, Ribs, Sweet and Sour Chicken & Fried Rice. Finished up with Cookies and Crème ice cream and Rainbow Sherbert I always enjoy going to their buffet and the price is more than fair. Thanks Hibachi Sushi & Seafood Buffet!

Okay food. 8 $ per person so not much to expect for that price. Not a lot of choices to choose from. But for something to have a quick bite is good.

I posted a review for Hibachi a couple months back, but it seem to have disappeared. Not quite sure about the negative reviews for this place, I have heard this place being brought up several times amongst my neighbors and friends. We have been back several times since our first visit, they get pretty busy on weekends with 15 minute wait for my group of 5 at one point. Business seems slower during the week, though I can only afford enough time for buffet takeouts during my lunch hours, I’ve been overall very happy. My SO is a big fan of their hibachi grill and I am a fan of their black pepper(or salt pepper?) chicken. For a little short of $ 12 a person for a buffet dinner, this is place is a gem compared to some hibachi restaurants that charge as much per plate for the famous grill. The only downsides of this restaurant are that it’s probably the only Asian buffet in the next 15 mile radius that doesnt serve alcohol, not even beer. We were told that they’re working on their license but it’s BYOB at no extra charge, which my dad loved!!! Service can be a little delayed during busy hours, depending on your server. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with this spot since we first started coming here. Considering the service, food, and price for it all. You’ll be seeing a lot more of us Hibachi!

Horrible. They use to be good but have declined. The food was dry, overcooked, and appeared it was mostly leftovers from the week recooked. Some of the seafood tasted sour. I will stay with Pacific Grill in Hamden.

Just came back from this restaurant and to say that it was disgusting is an understatement. The food has gotten progressively worse since it first opened. The fried chicken and the sweet and sour chicken were cold. The sushi from the sushi bar was disgusting. To top it off, it felt just as cold inside as it was outside. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled like raw sewage. We spoke to the hostess about these issues and she told us that the food wasn’t cold, as if we were lying. Even with a lunch coupon, save your money and go somewhere else! No wonder it was only $ 5.99. That’s about how much it was worth!

WIde selection of Chinese favorites Im not one to venture out past the basics but chicken and broccoli was good general tso pretty good crab rangoon best i have ever had! I dont eat sushi but the friends we were with do and they enjoyed it. I must say food was not hot at all which was disturbing but they do replenish quite often and it was very clean for a ‘buffet’ wait staff was prompt and friendly. For 10.99 a person i think it was worth it and cant expect 5 star food

I come to CT to visit my girlfriend and we been to a few chinese buffets within the area and I can say this one is definitely the better one compared to others of the same price. The food was great considering the very very low price of admission. Coming from NYC with $ 39 per person buffets with OK food, this restaurant was pretty good. It was always hot(which is a deal breaker if its cold) and the sushi while nothing too crazy was fresh and plentiful even on a weekend night. We came for lunch and dinner and the quality and service was the same. Staff was great, I spilled my drink on my girlfriends pants and they rushed immediately to help with towels and such. The manager came to us to ask us how our experience was because I was told its under new management. We told her our suggestions while she took notes and the next time we came back the habachi food was better than ever! Weekends it gets crowded but the staff is fast fast fast so you never have to wait to get in or wait long to get served. Probably as long as I visit my girlfriend I will come here each and every time.

This place looks NOTHING like the web page. Hostess chatted with another employee and ignored us. Sushi maker was RUDE! Never never again.

Went here for lunch today. Food and selection was very good for a buffet. The lunch price was a little more than $ 6(with coupon). Everything was well stocked, fresh, and the selection is tremendous! The fried flounder was awesome – loved that! They have a larger than normal assortment of seafood such as crab legs, calamari, flounder, bass, salmon, shellfish, and other items. Along with the hibachi grill, which allows you to design your own food dishes and have it cooked in front of you, there are over 30 stations for various food items. This also includes your standard sushi items. The desserts are a wide assortment as well, so I am really happy to have gone here. The place is large, well-maintained, and clean. The customer service is good – could be a little better and more upbeat – but overall, I am really impressed that there was such a good buffet in my local area for such a low price. I will happily return!!!

First I want to say that places like this are really hard to rate because their goal is to appeal to the masses with inexpensive food at a decent price. That being said, I have been here a few times at the insistence of a few friends. I have noticed that this progressively getting worse here. The food looks like it is sitting out longer, the bathroom was not that clean and a very distinct smell of sewage wreaked throughout the back of the restaurant last time I was there, so I refused to eat the food. I did notify the staff of the smell and all she said was that she knew. She gave no indication that they were taking care of it or that they even cared. I do not see myself going back here nor would I recommended this place to my fellow Unilocalers.

This has got to be the worst buffet I have ever been to. The food was disgusting and the service was worse. There was no flavor and a lot of it was cold. The best thing I ate there was a coated peanut, which is sad. Immediately after getting home I was sick. My stomach could not handle the awfulness of this place. Please save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

First experience maybe not the best time to go. We went here for mother’s day dinner. Busy isn’t the word the can describe how it was. Beyond busy is more like it. Waitstaff doing the best they could but it was obvious that management either didn’t care or didn’t plan on such a big turn out. People waiting out the door. 30 — 40 minute wait. Small parties seating fast before large parties. Refusing reservations. Also, no coupons accepting and increasing the prices by $ 3. Holiday pricing they called it. Not happy about that but whatever. I’ll overlook all that because of the holiday and it not being a normal business day. Onto the food! Sushi… very good(for buffet) sushi. The fish was all high quality and fresh. Well made rolls for the most part. Soft shell crab was a little mushy and lacked flavor. The sushi was my favorite part of dinner. The chicken, general tso’s/seasme chicken. Not good. Crab rangoons were crispy and tasty. The fish was all good. Shrimp was cooked properly and not greasy. Stuffed shrimp just was not good. Too small of shrimp and stuffing lacked flavor. Beed on the cutting station was good and tender. All the random misc food was as to be expected from a buffet. Nothing really stood out to me. Desert, my girlfriend came back to the table with two slices of cake. Vanilla an strawberry. Both inedible. Worst cake I’ve ever had. My father grabbed some ice cream that was green. It as not the pistachio ice cream. This one was not labeled. We both tried it and could not figure out what it was. Lacked all type of flavor. This was, however, the only ice cream that wasn’t hard as a rock. All in all I’ll have to say I have no reason to return. Pacific Buffet in Wallingford is a much better buffet. Torrington Super Buffet beats them both out. And if I want sushi, the sushi place across from Big Y serves much better quality sushi and it’s all you can eat. I hope this buffet makes it. It has all the makings to be a GREAT place to go for buffet food but right now it’s lacking. I give it a year to get their footing before I’ll go back.
