(Link to Lawsuit disposition: ) This review is my real, true story about what I had to go through w/LL — however, my wood was purchased at their New Haven location(old location.) The person they sent to court was the«manager» of this location… sorry in advance this is long: This is my story about what happened when I purchased hardwood flooring from @Lumber Liquidators. I am using my social media account to tell everyone what happened to my husband and I as a lesson learned when it comes to this shoddy, incompetent company. We purchased over 800 sq feet of prefinished Gun Stock Oak flooring, which was installed before we moved into our new home over 3 years ago. After less than 9 months, I had cracking, peeling, and wood chipping at the seams of the wood. I contacted Lumber Liq immediately, and was quickly given the run around. They would not reply to my requests(via email, phone, etc) to have someone from their company come out and assess my flooring issues. It got to a point where for over 4 months, they didn’t reply at all. Needless to say, I am relentless. I called every single day, and even e-mailed them as well. I had to(after months of them ignoring me) contact the BBB. At that point, they started listening– only because they were forced to do so. I got nowhere with them, and they ended up saying the floor was improperly installed(without even coming to my home). I demanded a independent contactor come to my home and do an assessment. Months of back and fourth went by, and they finally decided to send someone. The man they sent asked me a ton of questions, however in his final report, none of the answers I gave were correct. He indicated that I had 2 children, and 3 dogs. I have no children, and I have 2 dogs. I had an entire hallway, entryway, and bedroom with floors that were cracked and chipping away. They told me that it was because my dogs walked on my floors– WHAT? I bring my 2 dogs to the groomer 1x a month and keep on top of their nails. They kept trying to blame my 2 dogs, as if they literally walk onto the groove of the wood, and that they are the cause of it… again.LOL. His assessment said that there was nothing wrong w/our wood and there was not a manufactures defect– LOL. Clearly, wood that was only on a floor for less than 1 year, should NOT show this sign of wear in so little time. I had it with the entire process, and they denied my claim — which was all that I wanted was them to re-finish my floors at their expense. I was not looking to replace my entire floor for free!!! Since I got nowhere w/LL, I decided something needed to be done in order to get my floors where they should be– so I took them to court and civilly sued them for what it would cost me in order to fully refinish my entire floorplan(3 bedrooms, 1 hallway, 1 dining room) Prior to the case being called in court, they tried to settle with me for only $ 1,000. We told them to take it and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine– are they kidding? I had 2 different quotes from 2 Hardwood flooring contractors that indicated fully refinishing over 800 sq feet would cost me WELLOVER $ 2,000.(besides, it was not a small job) That being said, we took it to trial– and won. Needless to say, the judge clearly agreed with me that this was a breakdown of the wood and in fact was a manufactures defect. I was paid– and promptly via check and now, I am happy to report that I am going to FINALLY have my floors REFINISHED and re-done– CORRECTLY in a few weeks!!! I wanted to share my story with anybody who is willing to listen, because it is clear that LL does not care at all about the customers they serve, or stand behind their products. Their customer service is deplorable at best and they will do anything to dodge you and not reply for weeks, even months at a time. Even with heat from the BBB, they did not care to resolve this the first time and without having to be sued. I have never sued anybody, nor a company before in my life. I do not believe in filing«frivolous lawsuits» by any means. I wanted them to stand by their product and do what was right. The original cost of the wood(without installation) was over $ 3,500. May this be a small lesson to everyone out there to avoid this company at all costs, just sit back and send this to as many people as you would like– word needs to get out about what I had to go through so you won’t have to. Guys are very, very nice and helpful. Like this new location much better than where they were in New Haven. I hope the company solved their chemical issues with the Chinese products. I wish these gentlemen who work here much success.
