Do not use this shop. I took my prized older Cadillac in to have 2 leaks fixed, and they kept the car for 6 days, daily putting me off with no information. When I went to pick it up, it was sitting in their jammed-​full lot with the hood up, running in place. I was told by the surly and non-​English-​speaking mechanics who were there that it had been running for about an hour and that I should not turn it off until Jack returned. At last he came back. My bill was almost $ 800,at least $ 200 above already-​high estimate. BUT, that’s not the worst. There was a ding in my door, which Jack flatly insisted they did not do despite cheek by jowl parking of cars being serviced (PS:I hand-​wash my car every week, know every inch of it, and there was no ding when I took the car to A&B)…plus the emergency brake would no longer release, the hood support mechanism was wrecked, (now requiring a rod to hold it up, until I paid elsewhere to have it repaired,) most of my gas was gone, and all of my readouts were totally screwed up from the car having been left running all that time. Would I ever recommend this shop? I think not. I have cut my losses, since they refuse to accept responsibility for anything bad that happened to the car in their space.

Worst place you can take your car to.
Gave us an unreal estimate, trying to tell me that my oil is dirty, when is Diesel engines its supposed to be dark. Estimated my cost to fix over 3k$.didnt bother to put hoses back, which almost blew my engine off!

Jack and everyone here at A&B auto are fantastic. They do such a great job, they’re quick and they have really helped me out when I’ve needed some quick work done on my car. They’re friendly, know what they’re doing and I really do trust them. I’ve recommended many people to them and they have had great experiences with them too.
Matter of fact, I actually think I’m due soon for another oil change. And on that note, I’d trust them here before any of your express lube places or any of those. I’ve actually tried them a couple times and 1 time they stripped the nut that held my oil (I don’t know what the H you call it, I just know how to change the oil) in my Ranger and it made it almost impossible to get that sh*t off the next time. And another time, they put the old crap in.
So why don’t I just always change it myself you ask? I’ve gotten lazy and I don’t have the time anymore. So that’s where Jack and Arman and Karen and all of them come in! Support them!

I was a long time (and happy) customer of this place until today.
I would imagine that most business owners would value customers who have literally been going to them and sending them referrals for nearly ten years. That is not the case here.
I took my car in yesterday because the check engine light came on. I called today to find out when my car would be ready since I hadn’t heard from anyone all day. The guy on the phone told me it’d be ready in an hour. When I showed up almost 2 hours later, my car’s hood was still open as if it wasn’t ready.
The real issue, though, was that I discovered damage to my front bumper that was not there when I dropped the car off yesterday. I brought this to the attention of the owner and he repeatedly denied it even though it was plain to see. (Happy to provide photo evidence of the damage)
To top it off, the repairs cost $ 100 more than he told me they would on the phone just 2 hours before I arrived. How did the cost jump that much if they only had an hour of work left when I called?
I have been a loyal customer but I will not be returning as I find all of this totally unacceptable and unprofessional.
If you decide to use this place, get your estimate in writing and be sure to take clear photos and videos of your car before you drop it off!

This is the most memorable and refreshing experience I ever had. Jack the owner is delightful. All the crews (mechanics) are knowlegeable, esperienced and pleasant. If you have any questions they will take their time to answer them. If you have a complain, they will listen. I have been to a million auto repair and service places but this one tops them all. THE BEST! They work on my Mercedes and the car runs like a million $$$. They are reasonable and HONEST. I recommend them highly.

Proficiency, friendly, and uniqueness is what this business is all about. I’ve been doing business with Jack for a few years now and as a customer I’ve always been completely satisfied with their service. They will go above and beyond to take care of their customers and their performance is one of a kind.

In a city where your car is quintessential to getting around, you do need someone you can trust with car repair/​purchase advice. I know no one other than Jack at A&B. He’ll offer you solid advice, service, and won’t rip you off like some of the other mechanics. The timing on his maintenance is impeccable as he’ll almost always turn things around quicker than you expected. He’s also well connected with auto dealers in the area and is a great person to know in general. I honestly don’t trust any other mechanic with my car and will always be going to A&B for my repairs/​maintenance, no questions asked.

A friend recommended I take my car for repairs to Jack’s shop, A & B. I am very glad I met Jack and I am very happy with the work done on my car. He let me stay in his office in one of several chairs there and I could see through the window as the mechanics repaired my car. He charged very reasonable prices and found and installed within one or two hours the parts I needed which I would usually expect to have to be ordered and to require a return visit for a horn replacement and a rear light assembly that the LED lights had burned out. Beyond that I found Jack to be a warm and kind person who really goes above and beyond the level of customer service one usually expects.

I just moved in next door to this repair place and had a tire emergency before leaving for work. I have a car repair place I usually go to, but decided to go here instead since they were so close… I am so glad I did!!! They were closing the shop as I arrived, but took my car in anyway. The entire staff were so nice and friendly –especially Jack! They replaced my tire so quickly, gave me the best price, and made sure that I was taken care of for my next oil change. Honestly, these are my new car guys for sure! I felt so taken care of… Definitely using them again for any car repair/​upkeep needs! Thank you!!!

My Dad has an automotive shop in Texas.
Therefore my Dad seriously distrusts mechanics.
I had power steering go out on my truck last year, and it was covered by an insurance system shops like my Dads and A&B carry to guarantee their work.
I took the truck in and needed a quick turn around because I use it for work. Jack made sure it was prioritized and I got it within the day free and clear.
Cut to new more complicated issue.
I did some diagnostic work on a stalling issue, and replaced the easy to replace parts like the control arm before I grudgingly took it in.
A&B’s bid for the work was a fair price for parts and labor, and they turned it around within a day, before calling me to come out and pick it up.
I paid for a LYFT went to the shop, paid for the work, got my key, got in the truck and it wouldn’t turn over.
I was upset, but, sometimes with automotive errors they can be intermittent and it’s not the mechanics fault because the error doesn’t occur when they test.
Jack was more upset than I was. Apologized, and told me they were on it.
When he calls the next time, I again pay for a Lyft, and again it won’t start for me.
I’m more upset now, but when I tell Jack, he is Way more upset than me.
I get a call later as they look into it and it’s decided that it has to be the computer for the engine at this point (expensive) and there’s going to be an ordering issue through L.A. Dodge dealerships the back log will be 5 weeks. AHHHHHH!!!
I ask if it’s okay if my Dad sends me the part cause he can get it faster if it’s ordered through Texas instead of LA. (To a mechanic this is the equivalent of going to a fine restaurant but bringing your own cut of meat for them to cook) but I ask, and Jack says that’s fine, let’s do it.
Throughout the whole process the shop was easy to work with, never defensive, and quick to take all appropriate actions to get me back on the road.
Today I picked up the Truck expecting to be out for the Lyft rides as well as labor for installing the part.
Jack hands me the key and waives off payment!
I have Never had a shop where they didn’t at least Try to charge labor.
Mine was a unique circumstance, but still… knowing how shops work… very impressive.
I will recommend them to friends, and for any issues I can’t fix myself, this is where I’ll be going.
Good people can seem rare in L.A.

Hands down BEST MECHANIC in Los Angeles! My father has set the bar for auto repairs, and Jack and the team are the only Mechanics I can trust! They are fast, honest, and they absolutely love what they do! It’s enjoyable to be their customer, and I’m so grateful to have a place for my car when it is down!

A&B has serviced my car for the past 2 years and they are amazing! Jack and his team are efficient and fast! from oil changes to fixing my brakes my car definitely has an extended life span because of the good work they do! this body shop comes highly recommended and I definitely will not be going anywhere else!

I don’t really understand what these individuals are talking about however, my experience with A and B auto repair was fast and perfect. I took my car in to have my breaks checked since it was giving me a problem. As do all other mechanic shops, I had to leave my car in for a few hours but this was already predicted.
Any person going into the mechanic shop for any reason should anticipate a few hours of free time to dedicate or make arrangements for transpiration. It’s common sense.
I left my car for about 2 hours in which my brakes were fixed, and Jack had given a tune up to my car and it runs like brand new.
For anyone looking for good service, I would recommend this location.

I have been taking me & my wife’s car here for around 5 years or so and have always been pleased with the service. Jack, the owner & his crew are always friendly. I have a 99 Mercury Cougar & since taking my car here it continues to run very well. The only draw back is that it is a tight space & usually very busy so if your looking for a 20min oil change you may want to go elsewhere. Their prices for the work are very competitive in my experience.

I’m 41 years old and this was one of the worst experiences at an auto repair location I’ve ever had. A simple fix turned into an all day fiasco. I was advised by the AAA truck driver to divert to this location instead of the dealership and suggested by the AAA dispatch. I drive a Prius and the 12v battery was possibly dead (can only be purchased via Toyota). There is possibly an inappropriate connection between teh driver and the owner of this shop. I was dropped off and told I had to pay an $ 85 diagnostic fee to get my car checked. I was also treated very rudely upon arrival. The owner was obviously hoping it was the alternator and rudely questioned me about it. I told him he’d have to use that money to find out but both myself and the first AAA battery truck driver agreed it was the battery.
Two hours later I was called and told it was indeed the 12v battery that needed replacing «at least.» and that would take several more hours. 6 hours later and nearly $ 300 in debt to this shop the owner «forgot» how to apply the AAA discount properly and I had to do the math for him. He was consistently rude during the entire process. Also for some reason they tossed the entire contents of the back area of my car into the back seat and created chaos when I had to retrieve the car and load my child into the back seat. I would not ever use this shop again. I regret letting the AAA driver talk me into changing the plan to go to the dealer.

I had a problem with my vehicle… took it in for a quick check up to see what was going on. A gentleman named Greg kindly helped me and said exactly what the problem was within 10 minutes! He gave me a reasonable quote and had it repaired within 2 – 3 days.
Till now I have no problems with my vehicle. If for any chance I incounter anything, I will deff. take it to the right place to get it fixed… A&B Auto Repair.
