Best eating in North Kingstown and it ain’t even close. On a sort of desolate part of 1A next to a Dunkin you’ll find the crème de la crème of fine dining in NK. For starters, you can just come here and hang at the bar. The bartenders are great here, make any type of fancy cocktail one desires and the bar is always busy and has a good buzz going. Décor and cool bar scene aside, you want to come here for the awesome food. I’ve had everything from the plum glazed wings, to the Point Judith calamari, to various pasta dishes to burger and various fish specials and have never been dissapointed. Now, Plum Point Bistro is a little on the expensive side(most entrees are in the $ 20 range, most appetizers are $ 10+) so for 2 people at dinner, a few appetizers, entrees and drinks are you might be looking at a bill approaching 3 figures. That being said, we normally come here on special date nights or when we need to really wine and dine some visitors. Completely worth it though. Last time we were in and they had this whole grilled flounder special with roasted potatoes, veggies, etc. and it was to die for — the wife and I still talk about it months after. If you’re looking for a typical South County seafood shack, you might want to try other spots but if you’re looking for a bit more of a refined and special dining experience, you found your place!

Excellent, excellent, excellent. My children and I took my wife to Plum Point Bistro to celebrate her birthday. We ordered exclusively off of the daily specials board, a wise idea for so many reasons, freshness of ingredients & taste. Wine selection was goodby the glass. Service was just ok. We had reservations, the restaurant was busy but not full, we still had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Detractors of this restaurant say it’s too loud, they must have sensory issues!

Let me start by saying the Bistro is an amazing restaurant all around. The food is ALWAYS good and I have ordered many items on the menu. You can never go wrong with the specials too. My favorites are the pasta dishes which you can also get in gluten free options. Another great point about the restaurant is the bar area, both indoors and out(in the summer only). Its great because you can go casual and order appetizers and cocktails or stay for a full meal. I usually try to get there early because the bar always fills up. There are plenty of tables outside too. The staff are very attentive and welcoming and even if there may be a wait, its 110% worth it! Try to make reservations ahead of time though to avoid that. I highly recommend this restaurant to people who want a fun, casual, lively atmosphere with 5 star food.

Solid. Small space that can sometimes be loud(so don’t roll in for a quiet, romantic night unless it is a weeknight). Not that the place is raucous, it’s just wide open with an open kitchen so yes, it is louder than some other places. the food is great and the menu items are always creative and fresh. They try to source many of their ingredients locally so the farm to table freshness is there — plus it is nice to support local businesses. They make their own pasta. Totally worth going in.

Favorite restaurant in this area! The food is always amazing! You must get the tartare appetizer and sangria! It gets busy but you can grab a drink at their great bar while you wait.

I toyed with three stars but the positives really outweighed the negatives. Excellent waiter… Excellent food… I just am picky. Very decent wine selection, fantastic starter menu, and good choice and varied selection of dishes for everyone at your table. Pasta’s were amazing, smelts, burrata fantastic, artichoke really good. a good amount of food and I was satisfied at the beginning. Didn’t care for my polenta, steak had compound butter added but my steak was a lil cold, not hot(cooked perfectly I might add at medium rare) and the butter was ice cold and never melted on it like I would have liked, or like it should have. Waiter was excellent, bread was amazing and i’d return.

Plum Point never disappoints. Comfortable bar seating for a light meal and cocktails. Very pleasant and attentive bartenders. Nice atmosphere. Good food! Lively scene, always busy. Outdoor seating available weather permitting. I highly recommend this little local gem. Reservations recommended. I should have stated the reason for only 4 stars is the wait. Almost always a wait. You can call ahead but sometimes we pop in as we live close by. Last few times we went there was a waiting list both outdoors and indoors so u have to put your name on both. It gets confusing when the girl who is suppose to be outside is inside and there are empty seats outside… and you are waiting. Anyway– I do recommend but be prepared to wait.

This restaurant is my new favorite, hands down!!! The bartender Johanna is fabulous — she makes excellent drinks and has a fantastic personality! Michaela the server was excellent too. She was friendly and attentive! Now to the food: I am allergic to gluten and the«gluten-free calamari» was out-of-this-world!!! I had a steak with«frites» that was also amazing. The fries remind me of delicious«fair/festival fries back in the Midwest. I also admit to having the«flourless chocolate cake» which was also wonderful. I was happy it was on the rich side because it allowed me to take half of it home… I had already overeaten!

Having been a few times I think the food here is mostly very good. Service has been good each time and our orders all came in reasonable times. I like the casual atmosphere and the fact that it comes across as a real bistro, not just some restaurant with the word in its name. The last time we ate here I had grilled whole whiting which were outstanding. Delicious fish, cooked perfectly. I didn’t love my wife’s stew but it wasn’t bad, just not for me. They have a good selection of beers and wines by the glass, a big chalkboard wall for the daily specials, and lots of interesting options for food. Definitely a place on our regular rotation now.

Overall, we had a great experience here. The restaurant isn’t huge, but we were still able to get a weekday reservation during tourist season in southern RI. There is an outdoor deck and a restaurant/bar inside. The food here was really amazing. Their pasta is excellent. They have a number of specials each day(not just the weekends), and they are also exceptional. Desserts are also a must here. The crème brûlée was fantastic – a perfect consistency with a hint of fruit flavor. They also made a fantastic, if simple, pastry with seasonal fruits(without much, if any, added sugar, for those of you who might be concerned about that). The waitress was very attentive and had excellent timing – she visited the table regularly, but not so often that the natural progression of the meal was in any way interrupted. She was also very knowledgable about the menu and the specials. The only thing keeping this review from achieving a «5-star» rating is the atmosphere in the restaurant. Even though it was a weeknight, it was still a full restaurant and bar inside, and it was extremely loud. We were seated at a booth at the back of the restaurant, and we had a great deal of difficulty hearing each other talk. The fact that the restaurant shares space with a bar probably contributes to this, or the design of the walls and ceiling might be the problem. If you would like a quiet meal, I can’t recommend this restaurant, particularly at this time of the year. However, I can tell you that the service and the food are worth a visit, if perhaps at a less busy time of year.
