I walked this trail yesterday starting at Craig Rd. My only complaint is that it doesnt go past Deer Springs Rd. Great walk! says its 4.1 miles from craig rd to deer springs rd. I parked at Sam’s Club on Craig RD. Can’t wait for them to connect southbound.

Perfect for riding bike. This trail is the shitznet, but I seldom see anyone utilising it. No wonder — as of this writing — we are consistently listed among the most unhealthiest cities. This is what I imagine Minneapolis has with their so-called«bike highways» that allow for traversing the entire city without the bother of motor vehicles or stops of any sort. In fact, if Northtown were not run by a bunch of utter imbeciles — namely Sharon Buck for(too) many years — then, the tri-cities could get in partnership together to make the Minneapolis model a reality in the Las Vegas Valley. Instead, we have that boondoggle of a Craig Regional Park — which no doubt will be a money-burning pit for years to come for both Las Vegas taxpayers and those poor saps living within Northtown city limits — and yet, governments of both LV and NLV could not possibly care less about this trail or others like it. To expand it and connect it with other trails, yet to be built, would make too much sense. And, thus it will not be happening anytime soon. The More You Know Factoid: **************************************************** New bicycle sales are far outpacing sales of motor vehicles in several European nations, including but certainly not limited to Spain, which is not known particularly as a bike-centric culture. **************************************************** Now, why would any U.S. city(Minneapolis excluded) be interested in promoting a mode of transportation that emits zero carbon emissions, improves the health of its citizens, and costs very little in direct comparison(maintenance and upkeep costs very low; fuel = none) with motor vehicles? Or running. Why promote such a healthy activity like running? In this regard, the rest of the world keeps moving passed us(even though we are the ones in the HUMMER®). — E

Upper Las Vegas Wash Trail is becoming one of the places that I go for my AM walks/jogs. Located off Centennial and Lawrence Street, this trail runs approximately 3.5 miles. The trail is quiet during the early mornings and late nights, but somewhat busy between 3PM and 6PM. I like this trail for walks and jogs in the mornings since I am usually the only fool out here. Every once in awhile there will be a few runners and bikers, but that’s okay. Sometimes I can use the company. Since this trail is only a few years old, it’s still fairly clean. There’s not too much to see on this trail besides some parks, the wash itself, a few homes, and a few businesses. My only gripe is that the trail runs perpendicular with side streets which means you have to stop and make sure it’s clear before you cross. Eventually this trail will meet with the Lower Las Vegas Wash, which will total about 15 miles of trail to run, jog, and walk. TIP: Even though Centennial Parkway/Lawrence Street is the official starting point, you can start the trail off Deer Springs.
