The best Jamaican restaurant I’ve been to. This tops Carl’s Seafood, Donna’s, and def. golden crust. I got the oxtail platter and my cousin got the BBQ chicken. We both loved our meals. They put extra oxtail gravy over the rice and peas which is my favorite! All the ladies behind the counter were very sweet

For a take out place this joint is the bees knees. If you are into Jamaican food this place is gonna jamakin you crazy as the selections are plenty and the taste is delicious. We usually get the Jerk Pork and the Curry Goat and yo there is a symphony going on in your buccal cavity. We always enjoy this place and the only time we stop chewing is when we go yummmmmmmmmmmmm… hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… I just wish they had a larger sitting area as once you get the food you just want to sit down and chow it down! The staff is busy but always ready to help you with some of the dishes you may not be familiar with and did I say their portions we L A R G E!!! We will definitely be back!

The worst service ever, I was in line and someone came in and asked for her food to be served because she’s going next door. I told the lady I was in front of that lady she said she knows and still share the other person food that went next door. I just left because that made no sense.

Came in today for goat head soup, lady goes in the back, comes out with the soup. There’s no veggies or meat in here at all, it’s all soup. Disrespectful. Never will I go back to this place

If you’re expecting a sit down dining experience complete with fancy table cloth, waiters and fine tableware, this place ain’t for you. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican fare, this is it. It’s a small hole in the wall, they have a small dining area and you’ll be eating with plastic forks, but the food is good. Had the Curry Goat with Beans and Rice and I gotta believe it’s as good as you’d get in Jamaica, mon. The food is plentiful, plain and inexpensive. You won’t be disappointed.

Honestly, the food wasn’t bad at all… I ordered 3 different meals, curry goat, curry chicken, and fried chicken. They do give ample servings. Each dish was very good and quite filling… having said that, I also want to mention the poor customer service and the unsavory characters loitering in the restaurant. First, I am not sure if it’s just the way Jamaican restaurants are, if its part of their culture, but it seems as if they are annoyed by customers who are there to purchase food. If you have a question about the food, or want to ask for something to be added to, or held off your meal, they get really impatient and coarse with you. I experienced that at this restaurant. I have experienced it in other Jamaican restaurants as well, but this one was very tense. All I wanted to know was how many pieces of fried chicken came with my order and instead of simply telling me, the server abruptly questioned me about why I am asking, then all she said was«we give enough»… ok… well being this was my first time there, I don’t think my question was unreasonable. They also offer 4 different sizes of meals. From mini to small, medium, and large. I ordered a medium curry goat, small fried chicken, and a mini curry chicken. Each container was the same size, and since they gave me no receipt, I’m not sure if I paid the same price for each medium container, or the respective prices for the actual sizes i ordered and the cashier wasn’t trying to here me or answer my questions about the peices. Now, normally, I would have insisted on having her explain what I was being charged, but, here comes the unsavory characters. No disrespect to Jamaicans with heavy accents, but I could not understand a word those men were saying to me, but I could tell they weren’t asking me to join them for tea and bisquits. They had a angry and negative tone and demeanor, and because of that, I thought it would be better to just pay for my order and leave. Which is what I did. Aside from the good food, I just don’t think buying a few takeout meals should make a person feel that their life might be at risk. To be fair, it could have just been a dialect barrier between myself and them, but I’ve been ordering food for nearly 30 year’s, from people of various backgrounds and ethnicities, with many different dialects and languages, in several different states and countries, and I can tell a harsh, angry, unpleasant tone from a pleasant tone, and there was nothing pleasant about their tone or demeanor. Its my belief that you should always treat customers with respect, if you want to retain their patronage. Not saying that I won’t go back, but I definitely wont go alone!

Went here after going to another location and restaurant that was completely unprofessional. The food was SUPERB, the service for a busy Saturday was a little slow, but moved a little more smoothly once everyone in the line knew what they wanted. Ordered a medium oxtail and my friend ordered a medium curry chicken and jerk chicken. They were very accommodating with make her order being a mix and didn’t charge for the additional food, after which I apologized excessively my friend can be complicated sometimes! The dining area was very accommodating with memorabilia of Jamaica and had a flat screen tv and music playing in the background to make you comfortable. Definitely will return again even with it being 10 – 15 minutes away from my home.

Seriously AMAZING. For 8 dollars I got 2 large piece of jerk chicken, a huge portion of rice with my choosing of gravy(chicken), and some coleslaw type salad. Everything is really clean and fresh. Fast service and very authentic.

The food was as good as advertised, the rice was tender and fully cooked without being mushy. The oxtail was properly seasoned and not overdone which you can generally detect by finding a dry texture even when the meat it swimming in gravy. THe coleslaw was unremarkable but I’ve never been to a west indian place that really cared about the salad so thats not bad. Overall It was a pleasure to eat the food from here. The servers weren’t terribly prone to smile but I didn’t see them as mean, they got to my order quickly., which leaves me feeling satisfied and happy. Overall you should pay these people a visit, if everything else is as good as the oxtail you’d be crazy not to.

If you are looking for seriously good and AUTHENTIC Jamaican or Caribbean food then you must try The Dutch Pot. The service is fast– you simply go and pick out exactly what you want and you can choose to sit down at the table to eat or take it to go. As soon as you walk in the place smells soooooo good. The oxtail is an amazing dish to try and so is the salt fish. Also they have a different soup everyday that are always delicious! They also have a variety of different Jamaican drinks and they also make their very own juice. I have gotten their homemade carrot juice and their homemade lemonade and its delicious. I definitely want to try their other homemade drinks– they look very tasty!!! As far as service there, everyone is sooooo incredibly nice! I just absolutely love it here. Its a great place to get food quickly that is delicious and will fill you right up. Their food is all very delicious and flavorful and I can see why they are so so so popular. Try to avoid going during noon because it gets incredibly busy, maybe wait to go around 1 – but even so they get you your food in no time so regardless this place is an overall good experience. I think this is the best Jamaican food by far in all of South Florida. It’s definitely a must go to place for authentic homemade food thats been made in a dutch pot!
