We stopped for lunch, the other guy got the Italian sub and I had the blackened chicken salad. Everything was great, solid service, and not to crowded. Keep up the great work!

Our favorite must stop when in North Myrtle Beach! Great daily specials in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Friendly but small bar with pleasant barmaids.

The Seafood Newbury was excellent. This place was mid-priced, with a high-class feel and service!

This is very solid for myrtle beach. Though you may not know from the outside, it’s trying to be a high end restaurant. There is a valet for convenience which is often needed bc of the popularity and limited spaces. My first visit earlier Thai year was five stars. However last nights experience was 3. The experience is varied dependent on staff. The food is ok, but they probably rely too much on salt in their preparations. In our first visit 5 ppl were able to get a reservation with in 24 hours, had delicious dishes(sausage and peepers, soup, fresh catch, full salads) great professional service and imaginative drinks. The second visit we also had reservations and fresh catch. I had it prepared as the tilapia from the menu and there was a misprint saying the sauce would be a tomato jalapeño sauce. The misprint was the tomato, which I was told prior. Once it came it seemed like to me the sauce would have been much improved with tomatos stewed or even fresh diced. It was tasty but hard to eat because of the overpowering salt and spice of the sauce. The service person didn’t crumb the table which is necessary if it’s a dark cloth in between courses.

I hate giving bad reviews, but in this instance, it is well deserved. While on vacation this summer with my wife and a few friends, we stopped here well before the dinner rush. We were casually dressed, but didn’t look like we had just stumbled off of the beach. We walked into a virtually empty restaurant, but were immediately greeted with disapproving stares by the wait staff and the handful of regulars sitting at the bar. The hostess asked if we had a reservation, and then given exasperated looks when we said no. After making a show of being inconvenienced, they placed us directly in the back of the restaurant, next to the bathroom. When we looked around to see that none of the other tables were occupied, we left. It’s probably not a good policy to insult new customers, especially when your restaurant is located in a prime tourist destination.

I normally don’t write reviews on restaurants that weren’t either spectacularly fabulous or horrible, but I feel like I could write a novel about this experience. First, I was looking for a nice, but not over-the-top, place for my birthday dinner with my husband and 4 friends. I wanted a place that served seafood and other selections for the meat eaters in the group. A place with good drinks and a menu that catered to every price range. Midtown fit the bill, so I made a reservation. I knew this was going to be an interesting experience when I called back a second time about my reservation to change it, and they proclaimed I had no reservation, thereby doing me an enormous«favor» to make one. When we arrived at this tiny place(this joint is hard to find, the parking lot has absolutely no lighting), the most prominent feature was the valet booth in the(essentially empty) parking lot. There are maybe 12 whole parking spaces in the entire lot. My group is always down for a good laugh, and this provided one. I reviewed the menu online to make sure this place didn’t seem too snooty. I was satisfied with what I read. While you could order a 25 $ steak, you could also order a wrap or flatbread for $ 12, making it affordable for a big group of varying budgets. We were not prepared for this place. This is a white tablecloth type of restaurant, with a piano player and such. Very nice, but just what I had tried to avoid. We had a great time and a good meal anyway. The food was quite good, even if the menu seems a little all over the map for such a place. We only got scolded once by the manager for being loud(apologies to anyone that sat near us). And when we the valet returned our SUV, he said it had a particularly smooth ride once you take it over 110. They’re kind of snooty, but they do have a sense of humor. This would be a great quiet date place, or a setting for a business meeting. It was clearly not the best choice for my birthday throw-down, despite having done the research, but it gave us something to laugh about!

Decent non-chain restaurant. High tops are tough to eat at for a group of 3. Got numbed to a lot by the patrons and wait staff, tight seating. Food was okay. Chicken parmigiana could have used a bigger piece of chicken. Others raved about the beer battered shrimp. Worth checking out.

My husband and I ate here twice while vacationing at Myrtle. The dinner we had there was so good we went back two days later for lunch. We had the banana peppers app; I had the apple salad(I got grilled scallops on top); my husband had the filet. Everything was great. I have been craving that apple salad every since we got home — I loved that the apple slices were nice and thin — not big hunks of apple — so they complimented the salad but didn’t overwhelm the flavor as often seems to be the case. My hubby’s filet was also exceptional — cooked perfectly. The only reason I didn’t give them five stars was that when we came back for lunch it just wasn’t as good as the dinner — I had a French dip and he had a sausage sub — both were fine but not outstanding like the dinner was. We will most definitely go back however next time we are in the area and do recommend it!

I think this bistro is the best place around North Myrtle Beach. The owner is a super friendly and honest man. And his mother makes wonderful cheesecake. Their noodle salad is delicious. We went there on our first evening, and we had to go back on our last evening. The restaurant is nice and clean. Professional set tables. We visited this place twice for lunch in mid July. Thumbs up

I really like this Italian restaurant. I’ve heard about it for a few years but have never made it in which was a mistake, this is great food! I called late afternoon for a reservation and was told they could seat us at a table in the bar which was fine, especially since it was a last minute decision. The bar area turned out to be just fine as they had four or five other bistro tables plus a few regular tables in the area. The dining area is adjacent to the bar. I suggest planning ahead more than I did and making a reservation earlier. I think it’s tough to get a table without a reservation. We started with the spinach do which was good, though this standard appetizer is pretty much the same everywhere. The menu includes pizzas, several salads, pastas, and steaks. While an Italianrestaurant, the menu branches off in a few other directions if you’re not in the mood for Italian. I had the Seafood Pompadoro which was very good. My wife’s lasagna was excellent through she prefers more meat in lasagna(I loved the cheesiness of it). The had live piano music some nights and while nice, it does raise the noise level a bit in the dining room section. The far area was a little loud as is expected. All in all a great place to dine if you want a nice dinner and a departure from the seafood restaurants.

This place is the best kept secret in North Myrtle Beach. The food is so so good. All fresh stuff! The house dressing is very good along with their daily specials. Get the blackened chicken with Alfredo it’s excellent! Make sure you make a reservation because there is limited seating and it fills up cause it’s so good!

What a hidden gem! There is not one thing bad I could say about our experience at Midtown Bistro. We had a group of 12 ages 1 – 60 and everybody thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The food was fantastic, our server was top notch. Always there when she was needed, extremely knowledgable, and seemed very proud to be working there, which means a lot. Food was fantastic, less than 48 hour fresh caught Grouper, says it all. Succulent. I could go on and on about their stuffed banana peppers, and homemade blueberry cheesecake but I think this review made the point. We will be back! Well done.

Great service and really good food. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you. Nicely decorated on the inside with live piano music. We’ll definitely be back but must make a reservation next time.

This restaurant has great food and super reasonable prices. I can’t remember the last time I saw a chicken parm dinner with a salad for $ 13(and a nice size portion at that). The house dressing for the salad was a walnut cranberry ranch(I think) and it was deliciously unique. I ordered the blackened chicken meal hoping for something a little spicy. The chicken was nicely cooked with a bit of crisp but really wasn’t spicy at all. The pasta that came with it had this lovely and sweet mushroom cream sauce although it was a bit too heavy for me and I couldn’t finish more than half of it. Although the blackened chicken was good, there were a few dishes that I think were better choices, including the yellow fin tuna(which was superb) and the chicken parmesan(where the tomato sauce was the star of the dish).

I came to Midtown Bistro with my parents and sister while visiting them in Myrtle Beach. We came at a definite off time(3pm Sunday) — between Brunch/Lunch and Dinner, so seating was very easy. The food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic — many of the other reviews have sung those praises, and could simply be repeated here. The only drawback(that prevents it from being 5 stars in my eyes) is that there is one restroom in the whole place. Not one Mens room and one Womens…

Midtown Bistro is FANTASTIC! Our party of four got there prior to our reservation and we met Paige, the bartender, for some drinks. Cosmopolitan, Whiskey Sour, Rusty Nail, and Pinot Noir all delicious. Especially the Cosmo. Stuffed Banana Peppers for an appetizer. Spicy and bursting with flavor. Chicken Parm was the special. $ 5.99. Not a typo. Six bucks, delicious. I got the Tile fish special with risotto and blueberry & raspberry jelly topped with two shrimp. Live piano player was nice as well. Outstanding! Crystal, not certain of the spelling, was our server and was delightful. Probably going back tomorrow…

Just go to the restaurant and read my review later. Not one dish or app was not five stars. Mozzarella app was truly the best I ever had. The stuffed banana peppers spicy but not too hot. My Alfredo pasta dish was more than I could eat and my wife’s steak salad exceptional. They also did something exclusively for me which is a great testament to any restaurant. As for the service, five stars from the attentive waitress Paige, to the runner and the bus boy.

First off, the service was rather slow because they just seated a party of 20. The food, atmosphere and drinks outweigh the slow service. For drinks we ordered martinis. Raspberry and Sour apple martinis. Adequate alcohol and amazing taste. Most of our party ordered the Grouper special. Grouper was blackened with scrimp and served on top of cheese ravioli. I forget what the sauce was that tied everything together. Everything was delicious.
