This is one of our favorite places to eat in north myrtle and definitely at barefoot landing. Food is traditional Italian meals with a beans and greens first course followed by a cucumber tomato salad with most entrees.

I see plenty of bad reviews here, but this is my second time and I really enjoyed everything. Are the chairs plastic? Sure. So what? Is that going to ruin a dinner for me? No. My husband got the double cut pork chops topped with roasted garlic and it was to die for. I had the veal piccata, perfectly made and delicious. We started with all the house offerings, beans and greens, salad, bread and pasta. The marinara was a little watery, but overall, decent. We would eat here a third time with no question.

Great place for dinner or any meal. You won’t leave hungry. All meals except the pasta comes with salad, beans and greens, pasta with red sauce and bread with butter. We ordered the lobster ravioli and it had real chunks of lobster. Sauce was good and came with some large shrimp which was a nice added bonus. Chicken Marsala was a generous portion and the sauce was delicious. Topped with sautéed mushrooms and some roasted potatoes. Everything is served family style so it’s nice to share. $ 8 a plate to share if you’re curious. We each got our own plates(for 2) and shared to avoid the $ 8 fee and have more variety. Plenty of seating, very friendly staff who are attentive. Reasonable prices and leftover for days!

What a great spot! Family style beans and tomato salad and pasta. THEN the main course. Delicious grouper! Fixed your way.

Excellent Italian place, very authentic like a neighborhood place in the north east. I have been there many times over the course of 12 years. Always full and happy. Reasonably priced for a tourist area. I live about 45 minutes away and if I am in that area, Umbertos is one of my favorite stops.

This was our first visit and would go back again. The reviews accurately describe the family style pre-meal servings. Each was tasty plentiful. The entrees were were full of favor. A salmon special was cooked through, but the meat remained tender. Tomato sauce had a fresh, and sweet, taste to it that was enjoyable. If you leave hungry it is your own fault. Overall impression was very good with attentive, friendly service.

We wanted an authentic Italian dining experience and were more than pleased. The Chicken Antonio was delicious. Steaks and cuts of meat were extremely generous and cooked perfectly. The best touch was definitely the family style serving, with the beans and greens, thick loaves of bread, tomato and cucumber salad and even a pasta with marinara appetizer. Great service, food was amazing. Definitely would recommend and return.

Fairly good place to eat. You better bring a good appetite! There is more than enough food. Their New York strip is delicious. Service was good. Really the only complaint I have is the bread wasn’t baked all the way through. It was very hard but doughy on the inside.

Terrific food, great atmosphere. Kids really enjoyed the food as well(especially the family style pasta fagioli and spaghetti that comes with all the meals). We all left stuffed and with enough leftovers to have for lunch the next day.

A lot of food for a good price. We start with the white beans and escarole with bread. Tastey! Then came the tomato-cucumber salad. Refreshing. Next was the pasta and sauce! Is there room for the main course?(I think there was a little too much undercooked garlic in the sauce, and a little on the sweet side — not my favorite). Then the main coarse. I got the lasagna bolognese. Good flavor, with very flavorful sauce. There was so much food that I took most of it home. All for a very good price. The wait staff was very nice too. Overall, a very nice dining experience with lots of leftovers for the next day!

Don’t worry about finding good Italian food anymore when you bring the fam down to Myrtle Beach. Umberto’s does the job. First they bring you what is essentially pasta e fagioli followed by a typically Italian-seasoned tomato salad(both served family style). We asked the waiter to bring over the angel hair pasta with our entrees; this is where Umberto’s gets even better. I opted for the pork chops; the size of which you might find comparable to the ones on the down end of Fred Flintstone’s car. Delicious, juicy, and succulent. I had the privilege of tasting the raviolis which were homemade and fresh. The marinara is very chunky and full of rich spices. The bread was fresh baked and the butter tasted freshly churned from the farm. Also, the chicken piccata was heavenly. What’s wrong with this place? Well, make sure your wallet isn’t light tonight. They are a tad pricy, even for an upscale red sauce joint. The chairs were backyard deck chairs and it was a bit cramped and loud. But hey, what do you expect? If you make good food… they will come. Next time I’m in Myrtle Beach… I’ll be back Jack!

This is an excellent choice. A ton of food at an excellent price. The meals should cost triple what they do. Service with a smile, great atmosphere, and the food is very good. No need to order any appetizer as you will be taking home ½ of your meal.

Very good! The food was delicious. And the complimentary starter dishes were great too! The only thing that threw me off is the portion for the prices and the chairs were lawn chairs. But those are things I could look past for the quality and flavor of the food. So good!

We came with friends who rave about this place. They serve you a huge amount of below average Italian food. We were underwhelmed in all aspects. The pasta and sauce were just not that good, if you fail there, how can you win? I love good Italian food, but I did not love this place.

I love Umbertos! Every time I go the service is exceptional and the food is perfect. If your looking for a really good Italian restaurant this is it.

We’ve eaten at this restaurant many times, but today we had the rudest service I’ve experienced at any restaurant. Despite having a reservation for two weeks, they crammed our party into two round tables put together so we had our backs to each other. After asking the waiter and manager for a new table, the waiter literally started yelling at one of the members of our party. Just because a restaurant has a wait outside every night does not mean it can toss customer service and basic human decency out the window.

Had a lovely dinner at Umberto’s last night for my birthday. The meal begins with beans and greens, cucumber tomato salad, and angel hair pasta with marinara. They were all delicious and really could have been a meal on their own! Two family members got veal dishes– both tasty, but the veal was a bit over-cooked. Chicken Umberto was flavorful and delicious. My father got a blackened grouper special– also great! The house wine is priced at $ 22 a bottle, a steal! Our server Eric was attentive and friendly!

I am unsure why this place comes highly recommended. Maybe it’s because I’m from the north and know what good Italian food is, well this is not it. They do try to make it an upscale experience but there seasonal employees are not fully trained and the kitchen staff I imagine is the same. The sauces on all of our dishes were ratchet. There were five of us so we got to try quite a bit so sorry nothing special to report.

We had never been here before but joined two guys we played golf with after they raved about it. I must say it was well worth it. The food is outstanding and you will not leave hungry and most likely will leave with a «snack» for later. The lamb chop and pork chop combo special was juicy and perfectly done. My New York Strip ranked right up there with the finest chop houses. Come hungry and leave very satisfied!
